    Nice episode again! I think you still have to search more through the JEI recipe tree and not take the first method you see (it really hurt seeing you crafting rods with a file and a screw with 2 bolts, additionally I think there should already be a cheaper recipe for machine hulls using the assembler(may also be using polyethylene I'm not quite sure there)) But all in all good progress! Keep it up.

    Logging on to a modded mc world and just get lost? Not the first time, and will not be your last time either :P Base expansion, considering that machine spamming is gonna be very prevalent it is nice. Not to mention a MV to LV moment would be quite disasterous. You can use chunk claim to alleviate a lot of it, but still. More space is more space, it never hurts. To answer the question at the start, circuit / next material is long term goal. Anything else is short term. You need circuit craft any machine, and you need the material to make machine to craft said circuit. Otherwise nomi's quest book is extensive enough to where it should guide you well. A MV extruder unlock a lot of good recipe, but it need extruder shape. It might be a good idea to have a chest with said shape next to it for ease of access, until you have multiple extruder for each of the the shape, which you can go for if you want. Polyethylene or PE for short is the first real chemical chain in GT. It is very simple for that reason and you can go oil or Bio. Or both. Bio is easier probably and it is also passive (It use sugarcane after all), but is pretty slow. Oil need extra machine, but is a lot faster and you gonna do petrochem anyway. Not a full one but you can do a small setup rn for PE. Generally speaking, you can run numi before having the shulker model (unless it is gated by something i forgot), it just need a bit of manual mining for diamond. Not that much though tbh. Shulker model and Enderman model are the first 2 you should get for PPC, but once done it is a matter of expansion. Prepare some circuit for those too, you will need it.

      @@WhiteEagleLive There's a significant number of recipe differences, e.g. to get Rubber ingots you need Sulfur and Raw Rubber. You have to go though the Steam Age before LV. Forced Peaceful Mode (you have enough issues w/o adding Mobs). No DME resource generation. No Omnicoins. And GT Power generation is emphasised.

    You inspired me to do Techopolis 2 on the side as well as I've started my first gregtech modpack recently as well (Supersymmetry) and needed a more casual unwinding pack so I don't burn out as well XD. I've just got to iron and aluminum, and also wanted to automate the technium. I have it 99% automated with the same issue with the autocrafting with the buckets. Here's my solution to make it not as terrible to run (until we get better automation tools): Basically, wherever you have the output of technium going into (mine is a storage drawer) have next to it a few parts: 1. The auto crafter for technium; This is to just check if there's any bottlenecks in the system and to unclog if the hopper feeding the technium crafter gets stuck (if a material is full in the crafter, the hopper won't move the item and won't take any other items, at least the way I have it set up) 2. The auto crafter for Treated wood; while you can't take out the buckets, it will still autocraft the wood if it has a jerryrig with creosote oil in it, thus, whenever I notice that the technium autocrafter is out of treated wood, I just toss in a full jerryrig into this autocrafter and let it craft till it's empty (it is constantly feed wooden planks from a tree farm going into it's own crafter so I never have to worry about the planks) 3. 2 barrels; this makes the system much more barrel. One barrel is for empty jerrycan inputs, which it'll then take and send to the coke oven. The second is to receive the full jerryrigs after the coke oven fills it. Since I have the autocrafters and barrels right next to eachother, it makes it super easy to just toss in a new can and send the empty ones to be filled until the treated wood is full. Essentially looks like this: [ ] [ ] [ Input empty cans barrel] [Technium Drawer] [ Hopper for wood \/ ] [Full cans output barrel ] [ ] [Treated Wood Crafter] [ ] (<-- On the left side here is the technium autocrafter and hopper on top)

    • @WhiteEagleLive
      @WhiteEagleLive Před 10 dny

      I ended up doing this with the jerry cans its not a super big bottleneck actually just more manual that I would have liked.

  • @_Casual__Gamer_-hh1rk

    And again. Nice progress!! I see you use the drum for easy fluid transportation. I personally also like the portable tanks from thermal since they not only have the same functionality as drums but can be upgraded and are also necessary for ender tanks which are quite useful without ME. I kind of get the idea that you want to seperate the energy lines but that isn't really necessary in my opinion since you can't overload ender io conduits. So it would make more sense to have a centralised energy prod which you can just make bigger instead of making a seperate one for some parts(the conduits would get quite messy if you send fuel to every part of your base) . Additionally you wouldn't get the problem where some of your machines won't work because you didn't know if that one line had enough energy in it. Hope that did help😁

    I can't say too much on Techopolis, so rn I'm just passively watching it. If I do have something to say I'll definitely do it :) Lots of exciting stuff today, The Pyrolyse oven itself is actually an upgrade to the Coke Oven (which is a multi you could have built in the beginning to make Coal Coke). Granted the Pyrolyse Oven is better in nearly all aspect ,and it will have used later on, depend on what route you go it can even be crucial. Maintanence is a tad bit annoying, and ofc duct tape fix it. There is also the Automatic Maintanence hatch, which is available at HV. Right now you have to bring a Hammer, Wire Cutter, Crowbar, Soft Mallet (thanks Darkest hour for correcting this), Screwdriver and Wrench. I think that is all? Might forget some though. Sodium Persulfate/Iron III are required later on, though thankfully they are optional right now. As you can see in the quest book, it is useful to have it anyway. Sulfuric Acid can go with the Sulfur + 02 -> Sulfur Dioxide + 02 -> Sulfur Trioxide + Water -> Sulfuric Acid. Salt is Salt. Iron III is a very nice healthy loop if Iron + HCl -> Iron III + H2, and Hydrogen + Chlorine -> HCl, so input is only Iron and Chlorine, the latter can comes from well, Salt electrolysis. Chemistry is one of the defining traits of Gregtech, though thankfully conservation of element is a big helper here (You dont lost that much to be honest, if any). Speaking of which, Sodium Persulfate is obviously useful for ore processing, and it is a really crucial if you want extra byproduct. One of which, Gallium! Ore washing with Sodium Persulfate iirc can yield a very high chance of Gallium,s o that is certainly an option if you desperate need it, and I dont remember any other option that are as good (I go with this one) Woo, new circuit. As you can see, GT circuit are recursive crafting. There is a progession tab at the bottom which you probably have seen, and every row is the same tier of the circuit (so Electronic circuit is the same tier as Basic Logic Circuit?, i might have forget the name, but you get the point), and generally they are cheaper to produce. Every column is the same theme of circuit, so rn you only have basic circuit at your disposal and it only reach MV. The general idea is to craft as few of the further down circuit in the theme as possible because they are oh so expensive. Not that much right now, but crafting mainframe is pain. This also unlock the next machine, the circuit assembler! Probalby the best single block in a tier, tbh. It is the only machine that require a higher tier of circuit to craft, but it really does signify the next stage of progression, if reaching the next tier material isnt enough for you. They unlock cheaper circuit and new circuit theme. Most ended up rushing for the next circuit assembler, and then batch the circuit they unlocked with that theme so much that their whole supplies run out, and then get the next circuit assembler, repeat. DME is one of the reason why i enjoy this pack. Passive item generation so you focus on the technology, and not the grind for the item self. It can feels a bit too OP tho, espeically with how powerful it make Numismatic dynamo, but that is not my problem. DML (I might mix mash DME with DML, both are basically the same mod) give you free item*, so long as you have PPC to supplies it. Since PPC is made through GT process, this does have some nice quirk, but we will get to it when the time comes. For now, enjoy the reward of free iron/ P/S: You can also get an arc furnace, which is very cheap and let you get Anneal copper. Useful for a lot of stuff, but rn as you probably have realized, diode.

    • @Darkest_Hour
      @Darkest_Hour Před 13 dny

      Making Sodium Persulfate (in general, both for ore processing and preparing circuit boards) can yield Hydrochloric Acid from one of its recipes, if I recall correctly. All you have to do is add iron for Iron III Chloride, or maybe you'll have another use for the stuff. Slightly more complex than just electrolyzing salt for chlorine, but a very appealing option if you ask me. Funny enough, I've been enjoying Expert Mode more due to the lack of DME, though not having an early infinite supply of gold and silver is starting to sting now that I'm in HV. That, and the lack of Numis for easy power, are the two largest changes I've felt so far. Having to go out mining more is the only part I don't necessarily enjoy more than the original, but its not like there's a lack of ore veins around, ha. Oh, most of the tools for maintenance you listed are correct, but you need a Soft Mallet instead of a File. All of those tools are useful for setting up machines (except the Hammer personally, I don't mind the machine sounds), so keeping a set handy to begin with is good practice, even if you're working with only single block machines.

    • @Gekkoulong
      @Gekkoulong Před 13 dny

      Ah yes, I definitely think both are good option, and well you need sodium persulfate later on anyway, which is nice. Without dme it focus a lot more on ore gathering, though miner exist to sovle said problem. At keast from my expereince, newer player can be turn off by the idea of constantly moving miner instead of passively making resource. Aside from that, expert have recipe nerf (circuit got owned) which is tough, but can be fun. Numis i never like them (set up gt power is more fun imo), but they are so op in normal mode you are incentivized to do it, only till later on did it get power crept by other. Oops, i know i forget something, thanks!

I've been very very busy with uni lately, so I haven't been able to click within hours every time haha, but I do like watching. Outside of that, if you're looking for tips on how to keep retention higher for gregtech content, I'd advise you to look at Threefold's content. I don't know what it is about his content, but it always seems to take priority over everything else to watch when I see new uploads. I find myself actually making time to properly sit down and watch those episodes. Having a deeper understanding about creating content than me, maybe you can identify some things about his style to achieve that same effect with me and possibly others. I know that's vague, but hopefully it can help? I do feel the need to reiterate that that's not any kind of drag towards you. Like I said, I really like your content. Just trying to help you find ways to get that retention up! :D

    Just saying, changing settings on the "extract" side of a conduit doesn't change anything for the "inser" side... So you should have set the extract on the Sugar Cane to round robin ;)

  • @Gekkoulong
    @Gekkoulong Před 23 dny

    The other commentor already said it, so i wont reiterate but you can spam connection to compensate for the low I/O of the conduit. That being said it is still nice to upgrade anyway. What you said about "accepting 2048 FE per open face" is a bit wrong. Yes, each face can accept 2048 RF/t, but in total across all 6 face it can only accept 2048 RF/t, mostly because 16 amps of LV = 2048 RF. So you can just spam 4 connection of conductive iron or 1 connection of an energetic alloy conduit and it will be sufficient. Dont worry about it, i am fine with whatever you upload. GT is GT it is quite the complicated mod, but (imo) very rewarding once you get to the gist of it. We dont really talk about what happened to nomi ceu modern, but rest assured it is still fine. After some drama stuff the project is still continued (from pansmith's message) so it is alright. There is atm9 which does have gt modern, tho i'll be honest i am never a fan of atm. There are plenty of modpack, but i havent really caught up to the more modern side (and gt has been my focus dor a while) but i think inferno is pretty interesting. Valhesia? Plenty of stuff to choose from. ...You can use crescent hammer/yeta wrench or even using a gt wrench to shift rightclick and remove the conduit. Seeing you breaking those with hand kinda hurt my soul /j As said above, 2 face for energetic alloy conduit is a bit of a waste. It can only take in 2048 rf total anyway, so you save some conduits from it. Not that much but this information is nice to know later.

  • @Dauom
    @Dauom Před 23 dny

    The conductive iron conduits can carry a max of 512rf/t from each *_connection_*, 512rf/t isn't the total amount it can move around, it just means if something is generating more than 512rf/t it won't be able to extract all of that power and output somewhere else, so only upgrade conduits when you upgrade power gen, (as in if each generator you have generates more than the amount the conduits can transfer then definitely upgrade, but if you're generating 100rf/t from each generator, and you have 10 generators, which is 1000rf/t, the conduits can still carry that power since each generator is only outputing 100rf/t). On the subject of conduits, they actually have an internal buffer, you can use a conduit probe to check how much energy the conduits have stored in them, and each conduit you place down adds more to that buffer, so instead of carrying gregtech power (16x conductive wire is very expensive at this point), you should use conduits everywhere and have an energy converter for each setup/multiblock, that way you will effectively never need to make a battery, higher tier conduits also store more power per conduit. (You can also right click a low tier of energy conduit with the next tier and it will automatically replace it, so you don't have to break each one) The round robin ability in item conduits has to be set in the extracting conduit, not the insert. You also dont need to set the energy conduits to insert and extract, they automatically know what to do, you just have to place them, no need to configure them at all. Upload what you want to upload, As long as it's minecraft I'll watch (I literally only watch minecraft videos lol)

    For most multiblocks, only the controller is required to go where the preview says. The pack will usually accept as many (or as few) of the optional parts as you need, and you can usually put them anywhere dummy casing blocks would go. So like, most of the time you won’t need a fluid bus, so just use a casing instead, or vice versa. If it’s more convenient to have an output bus on top, it will go there.

    Nice progress there! For your power setup, I think it's also mentioned in the questbook, the ratio between boiler and turbine is 1 to 2. Anything more uses too much steam. The problem with the EBF is also logical. You have one converter that can output a static amount of EU. But you use that one converter to power all your machines(likely the electrolyser was running in the beginning) so there is naturally an energyproblem. It would be helpful if you have ender io conduits as main energy line and use a converter every now and then to power your machines since they only have an i/o limit. Personally I think that battery buffers aren't needed at all(it was a hassle getting battery alloy so I just tried without and it worked perfectly fine). It's just some sort of buffer if you don't produce enough but a pain in the ass to fill up(especially the 16x) Lastly for output problems(clay electrolysis) I mainly use conduits(item/fluid) since they are easy to craft and also covered up. They may take additional space but especially in the beginning they are more cost effective. Later you can use robot arms with filters to automate processes because they can also filter by amount so you can make infinite conductive iron without clogging the alloy smelter up with Redstone. Anyway hope that infodump was helpful😁

    • @Darkest_Hour
      @Darkest_Hour Před 29 dny

      Power buffers are still a nice thing to have, though something like enderio’s capacitor banks will be much more flexible than the gregtech buffers, given that running conduit lines is generally better than wires. They aren’t too important now, drawing too much power just means whacking a machine or two with a soft mallet and waiting a minute, but having your AE2 system and power generation start to flicker out due to power shortages is a _massive_ problem. But that’s later.

    • @Gekkoulong
      @Gekkoulong Před 29 dny

      Conduit themselves have buffer, so it can serve as a pretty good battery. Granted GT battery start to be good about HV/EV ish (and the Lapotronic Supercapacitor is amazing for it). I think the line is like, at the start gt battery are okay, and can serve as good buffer, then they get power crept a bit as you spam energy conduit everywhere, then they become a viable option again once you at the later stage of the game. For now i think it is still good to have buffer, and conduit buffee at this stage is not that high.

    The Rich Man's Blast Furnace! Far better then the old Primitive Blast Furnace you used to have for sure. Make sure to feed it power, because it will eat a lot of it. Thankfully EBF does not void item if it doesnt have enough power (so long as you dont break the multi, i think only the controller, not entirely sure though), so just make sure not to break the multi while it is running and you should be a-ok. What you said about needing 2 energy hatch to overclock is true, each energy hatch (normal energy hatch) accept 2 amps of power (I.e 1 LV energy hatch accept 2 Amps of LV), and since 4 amps of lower tier = 1 amps of a higher tier, this mean 2 LV energy hatch allowed the EBF to overclock to the next tier. You might have realized that this quadruple the power you need to supply, while it only double the speed. EBF can perfect overclock though, with the better coil, tho it is not something you can access as of this point in the game. Could use assembling machine to make Maintenance hatch btw, circuit 8 (1?) iirc. Much less annoying than using tool. You can shift right click the controller to open a ghost version of the multi, if you think using JEI for building multis are annoying, which i personally think so. Yeah, machine only auto output for 1 face, so if you need to output in other face you will need cover (pump/robot arm/conveyor). If you ever found out that EBF need too much energy, this is where the input hatch comes in. Nearly all ingot can be smelt with a fluid (in the case of Aluminium, this is Nitrogen), which lower cooking time which mean less energy usage. Nitrogen at this point can only come from air centrifuge, but it is a route you can go if you want to lower the energy the EBF eat. It will still use a lot though, but any energy saved is nice. Something you could do at this point if you want is the DME trial for glitch armor, which give creative flight. Not bad for movement and building purposes, could be a bit early though. Bigger battery is definitely needed, though you might run into another problem, and that is conduit I/O throughput. Simply put, conduit can transfer infinite power through them, but they can only input/output an amount of RF that is highlight under the conduit itself. I dont quite remember what the conductive iron I/O is (i think it is 512 RF/t?) which mean that even if you upgrade the battery it will only input 512 RF/t, on one side. Yes, if you put another conduit on another input side, and simply connect that to the main conduit line it will insert more than 512 RF/t. Nifty stuff! Thankfully energetic alloy conduit is pretty close, so this problem isnt a big deal, but it is still a nice thing to know so you dont stress yourself that you arent transfering energy fast enough and have to rush for the next conduit tier. Hey Cobblework! Good plan for next episode because it will serve a major backbone for the base. O2, sand, dust, clay, gravel, quartz, quartzite and so much more. Definitely a good goal to set for the next one. (Hint Hint: Tricalcium Phosphate for glowstone :) Glad to see you enjoy the pack, the greg must commence and it will not stop.

      Currently doing some testing in my creative world and can't seem to get enough power using dynamos to run the cobbleworks setup and the EBF simultaniously even though the math checks out. thinking its a steam production issue but im unsure.

    • @Gekkoulong
      @Gekkoulong Před 29 dny

      To be honest I recommend just set the power line for cobblework and ebf to be seperate, cobblework eat a lot of amps and 1 amps of LV is already 128 RF/t (since 32 EU = 128 RF), so it put a lot of strain to your power network. I cant remember how expensice numismatic dynamo is, but if you can get it you should, it run on diamond (which will be automated later through DME) but you can totally manually mine enough diamond to feed it for a while.

    Seeing as now the EBF is close, here's a few tips Read the quest about the steam conversion kit, it'll tell you how to make around 320rf/t with your current steam dynamo setup (To comfortably run the EBF, you'll need 512rf/t). You'll want to keep the EBF running as much as possible, so considering adding more dynamos to meet the 512rf/t power requirement, but you'll also need the dust to cook, which for the moment will be aluminium, and you can get infinite aluminium dust from clay electrosis, and clay is made from cobbleworks (check back on the processing lines quests). With the assembling machine, there's actually cheaper recipes for the circuit parts (cheaper resistors, boards etc...) so definitely start using those recipes. These are the main things that I can think of right now.

    Nice work! For conduits you have to think of the 2 sides (input/output) as completely independent. So you don't have to change the color code of the output side or activate it when you want to input something. Very helpful if you want to input and extract something from the same side.

    Woo, the most useful steam multi is here, imo. Recommend getting another one bc even with 8 in parallel it can still be slow. Thankfully, mining wont be a big thing once you reach MV. Pulsating Polymer Clay (PPC), iirc does need 1 MV chemical reactor, so you are gated by MV regardless. The questbook still put the quest there because you can get it, well, only simulation chamber really, but still. EBF is, probably the single most used multiblock in the game. Probably. Used from here to smelt almost every advanced ingot from gregtech. The coils are important, not just for the multi but it also allow more heat to smelt higher dust, and provide perfect overclock + energy discount. The questbook i think tell you about these, so I wont say it here. Though, a general rule of thumb, 1 coil set for an EBF is 2 stack of ingot for the wire + extra ingot for foil and fluid (the fluid take 1 ingot per coil each)

    • @tulenich9948
      @tulenich9948 Před 29 dny

      I'm pretty sure you only need an MV chemical reactor to make resonant clathrate, which is an alternative way make pulsating dust. You do need it for automatic production though.

    Using the default green channel on conduits is usually bad practice as you’re far more likely to accidentally insert or extract items to/from newly placed conduits (EDIT: not getting into the habit of picking a channel could also lead to accidentally mixing multiple processing lines on the default channel if they ever connect). Could range from the minor annoyance of clearing junk from a machine input to complete disaster having important, expensive items getting destroyed in, say, an arc furnace, or having the wrong fluids enter a processing line that you don’t notice until suddenly and entire wing of your factory is at a standstill waiting on plastics that’ll never arrive. Also, nice resource pack :D Currently using mostly the same one, but with a more recent version of Zedtech for everything except ores and their immediate products like ingots and plates, solely because the version in igblon’s pack has broken textures for active firebox casings on the large bronze boiler ;u;

    With EnderIO conduits: it’s generally a bad idea to use the default green channel for either extract or insert, because it’s very easy to accidentally allow them to start working when you don’t intend them to, like later when you are extracting from interfaces with filters. That probably doesn’t make sense right now, but it’s good to get into a habit of picking a dedicated default color for extract and another for insert and always configure your conduits that way. Keep it up - Greg is tough, but fair! Also, since you mentioned food, I noticed a lot of players don’t play in peaceful mode, but you absolutely can with this pack and I always do. Finding food and fighting mobs is not why I play this game and not having to do either is very nice.

      This is extra annoying with fluid conduit specifically, at least item conduit dont auto insert the monent you place them, so you can still use green channel for it and it would be fine (not that i would really recommend, keep thing consistent is better imo). But fluid conduit auto insert, so if you use green channel the fluid will automatically insert into whatever machine you want and that can cause trouble, dont use green channel for fluid, always use brown or something else.
