Do you or anyone reading this who has track over tire find that these wear out the tires very quickly? It is what I was told from a guy who had them. Thanks

Thanks for the video. You should set your torque wrench to 50 percent the first torque, and 100 percent, the final torque. You never achieved your proper torque by your short stop, near final torque. 😊🇨🇦

Living in Colorado in the woods I really prefer the winter times as long as you have the gear needed to support living on acreage and a 1800 foot long driveway LOL. Plowing 5 foot snow drifts 5 miles out to the county road is more of a challenge than hassle.

the center bearings are bathed in 2 cycle oil. but you should install the y pipe exhaust before you torque down the jugs it will help with alignment

You should tighten your tracks.. Having them that loose makes more wear on them.. Rebuilding them is a lot of work and parts are not cheap to rebuild them.. I have learned a couple of tricks to save my old parts and make them last longer.. I turn the old worn bushings that have the bolt holes elongated and weld them into a elongated dog bone.. This puts all the movement on the bolt, but there are times that the bushing gets rusted and stuck in the dog bone and the bolt takes all the wear.. Bolts are cheap compared to a dog bone, which is nine dollars last time I bought parts.. Turning the bushing to the unworn side and welding it in the worn dog bone also saves the cost of another bushing.. Proper adjustment is 1 1/2 to three inches of sag.. I hope this helps others with this kind of track.. Another tip, Tracks put a lot of stress on the skid steer drive system.. Try not to sit and turn but roll and turn to take some of the stress off the machine.. Even without the tracks, this way of running your machine saves wear on the tires.. just another thought, a tooth bucket will load a lot easier with what you are working with..

older video. however leaving a taller stump in general is safer anyways. you cut more at waist level meaning you are up on your feet and can get out of the way. Ideally you leave about a 16" stump so you can cut at a higher mid waste height. After you have fell the tree, now you can remove the stump and still have a 16" piece of wood to split. Safer and you don't waste the wood either as it is at the correct length for splitting anyways.

I have one and it annihilates every block I test it on. Its far better and easier than any axe I have ever used with the added bonus of it never sticking badly in the block. As others have pointed out your chopping block is a bit high, but using a block (just preferably a shorter one) is far better than trying to split on the ground. The only people who think differently happen to split their wood on ground as hard and flat as concrete I assure you. Good video.
