      @@nategross7568 thank you, , it was fun getting the pieces that was shotgun close and then fine tuning then to fit . I was going for different enough to be unique, but close to original,not to be ugly.

    You should try somme filework on that Brass spacer or engraving it and engraving every brass part Very good work

      @@bultacowally I needed it to fit inside a bug out bag with minimal space. The original buttstock just didn't allow me that. My goal in any project like this is to not modify it to a point that it can't be used in original condition. The wire stock just merely gives me another option. It goes with me in the original buttstock when I go kayaking or camping. I do appreciate the comment and thank you for taking the time to do that.

    Your happy with that lock? At half cock and without a flint in it its already tipping the frizen forward. I bet you are going to have problems shooting it

      I'm blaming my fat fingers , lol. The hammer does set close to the frizzen, and it did have me worried some. i admit I haven't shot it much lately, and if it goes South on me i will definitely start at the hammer. I thank you for the heads up and taking the time to comment.

      This was the first project like this that i had done. Granted it could have been better, but for my skill set, tools available, and know how, it surprised me how good it fit. Maybe "Perfect' "might be the wrong word to others. Sorry for that , and i appreciate you taking the time to comment .

    Wow, nice job. I wish I had seen this before I did all my mods. Nothing undoable, but spent money I didn't need to. I'll probably just take the stock off an old air rifle. Only thing I'd add to the kit is something for fishing. 🙂 Also, I got a butt stock pouch (which was too big for the original wire stock so I built it up with pipe insulation but can reuse the pouch on an actual stock).

      Thanks Kevin, is thee anything better than taking something and making it fit you? the Air Rifle is a great possibility. The stock i used was thick and the room inside was limited. I do like that fishing idea though. i am glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for taking the time to comment.

    I'm curious. You placed the bridge rather randomly. I always thought the placing was a specific measurement in relation to the frets.

      My game plan was to set the bridge then adjust it and the string lays on the nut accordingly to get the string height I needed. This, like most things I do, was a hands on leaving experience. A light went on when I read your comment. That makes so much sense. I have total respect for any craftsman and they amount of skill they possess. I'm just one of those guys that learn more with my hands than anything else . I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and comment. This is one of the things I live about CZcams. I hope this helps.

      @garymichael45 but I'd buy it. I keep emailing website that sells aftermarket barrels for Henry AR-7, but they won't even respond.

      @@Aaron-ro4kv Check state and federal regulations. I'm guessing a barrel that long would make it a handgun. I'm not familiar with all the changes that have been made to the laws and every state is different. I just don't want the ATF knocking on your door.

    Bro hole is shifted butt plate end is shifted I have seen a local gunsmith drilling the hole he did with wood he drilled from both the ends then he contacted the hole with red hot steel rod it is a complecated process

    I didnt see your brothers phone number to call. Do they sell the black walnut gun stock. If so is it already shaped like the one you have. Im redoing a traditions deer hunter .50 cal flintlock and want to do it out of better wood. Can you let me know about this please. If so ill buy some more stocks from them as my muzzleloader projects continues. Thank you.

      Hi Robert, they have a saw mill in Northeast Indiana. I called them one day and told them what I was looking for. They called me the next week with exactly what I wanted. It was just a slab and I cut the blank out myself. It had to be cured, but I didn't mind , I had other projects going on.The phone number is 260-251-3138.       A Simmons 4x15.i wanted to keep it as streamlined as possible to have the ability to fit the pack. Here in Indiana we have mostly small game, so the shots are within 30 yards . Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it.

    I think it would make your flintlock look much better if you would get yourself a Kentucky rifle brass butt plate from deercreek and put it on with a brass toe plate I believe you would appreciate your rifle more
