Damascus Cleaver

  • I start with 18 layers of high carbon steel and nickel eventually creating 48 layers of Damascus. The end result is a great looking small cleaver, with a wooden sheath, I hope you enjoy the video and the process i go through as i learn to make this difficult creation.

    Great to see a new post from you. I enjoy all knife making videos, and this one was excellent. You are very brave to take on damascus with a minimum of equipment.

      Thank you, most people don't understand the difficulty of Damascus. Lots of cursing and crying to get to this point. I eliminated using borax so I could see and understand what the metal was doing when it was forged. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and comment. More knife videos coming.
