Cuz rain water is pure distilled and stream water would have had alot more organic matter that could start bacteria in the solution

Interesting video :) I make carrot wine. And from your description of how your Carrot Cake mead tastes, it couldn't taste more different :) My recipe is a typical english country wine recipe. It makes a more subtle wine, that isnt obviously carrot. My wife loves carrot cake, so I will have to give your recipe a go.

My dragonfruit mead is doing this. I need to swirl it twice a day.

If you keg, you need to put your sugars into the keg, and then purge it with CO2. Then you can rack your cider/mead onto the sugars swirl it to mix, and fill the rest of the keg up. Cheers and thank you for this video, came here to get working values for stabilization.

Probably a stupid question but are you supposed to dissolve it before you add it or can you just put it in? I put it in and it seems to have all dropped to the bottom

The trick is too put a non lubricated condom over the top too degas, my friends dad taught me that, cuz lol balloons have like this powder on the inside and outside I forget why, but condoms are super sterile, and it catches all that foam and just sags off the side and doesn’t sent it back into your batch.
