Marantz TT5005 Turntable Review
Here's What Marantz have to say about the TT5005
Thanks to the in-built phono equalizer the TT5005 is an easy to set-up turntable that can work with any amplifier or receiver - even it doesn’t have a dedicated phono input. It’s also effortless to operate, thanks to the start-stop system that automatically places and replaces the tone-arm, and which also helps ensure you do not accidentally scratch the vinyl.
Its rigid die-cast aluminium platter produces uniform inertial mass for perfectly stable and consistent rotation. In addition, The TT5005 comes with an MM cartridge so that you can begin to enjoy your analog record collection as soon as you connect the TT5005 to your home hi-fi system.

In this video I test out whether you can play a record using a banknote as someone told me online the other day. This might not be the most audiophile way you can listen to your record collection but it was certainly fun to try. Now you have a cool new party trick to amaze your friends in the vinyl community. Maybe lol.

Fosi Audio Q4: 6 Month Review. Best Budget DAC?
Case in point: The original CD of Eric Clapton's comp "Time Pieces" is hands down his best sounding comp CD vs "Cream of" vs "Life in 12 Bars" (worst!).
Gosh, I hope not. Keep the aversion high and the prices low! 🤣
Good points Especially the one that relates to the artist, as that is their livelihood your passion and Just as important their income. I wouldn’t want to go to work and not be paid, would you?❤
Listen to Body and Soul by Joe Jackson on Intervention Records!!!! One of the most amazing listening experiences you’ll ever hear!!!!
Thanks for the tip. I'm confused..Is Blu-ray Pure Audio a format? I'm not sure what the title of the recording is..or if there is one. Perhaps this is a series of recordings produced by Mr. Wilson. IDK Thanks!
Any Miles Import Remastered recording s...especially the Japanese Imports.
I recommend any Tracy Chapman HDCD and Sade's remastered Japanese Import record pressings.
How could I miss this idea? thanks for sharing.
UD7007 - Balanced connection, improved 2ch resolution. 🤙🏻
But know that the polymer note is full of smart tech, nano colonies in the ink and metallized strip, unique DNA ID and its tracked via wifi, it generates it own electricity from body heat and movement, the corner will play music from a vinyl record. The secret is they know everything of the note's whereabouts and transactions. Going cashless is for your total digital enslavement via CBDC & a social credit system.
If you are in London, avoid Flashback Records for vinyl and CDs, they're a rip off. They sell used CD's for £4.99 or more, while in charity i get them for £1.

You're completely correct, I doubt that many of these "audiophiles" actually like listening to music, they are just like petrol heads who know everything about BS but little about ordinary driving habits. A lot of the same audiophiles? seem more interested in elevating their own egos and are mostly jumped up salesmen. The loudspeakers components upgrades guy in his late 50s who appears on here an makes out he can still hear upto 18k says it all to me - they see themselves like the art or fine dining elite where they have much improved perception over ordinary me and you

I was expecting less known albums. We can easily google these
Sorry I have been such a let down to you, stranger! What great sounding - but lesser known albums would you recommend?
What about the Dave Clark Five? D or C? I’ve seen both done in shops. Would you put Joy Division and New Order together or separate? Echo and the Bunneymen under E?
This are amazing speakers..special for price!!!
2 things i would say is, if the jewel case is broken, be careful when buying replacements. Its hard to find quality replacement cases. I usually go to charity shops and crap cds which have good cases and replace this way. Another point, if you see a gold cd, it might not be a special edition....its possible its CD rot. Just check it anyway. Ive been collecting vinyl since 1979 and CDs from 1985, when they were just becoming commercially available. I amassed around 8000 cds and 5000 LP's....and still adding to them regularly.
CDs don't need to return, they've never been away. I'd never even used a streaming service until a few months ago. I bought a CD today, it cost me the princely sum of £2.
I can't get enough cheap, used CDs that were made before the loudness wars!
I organize my CDs by the album's name. It avoids the issue with the act's name.
Did they ever 'go away'? I never stopped buying them. 30 Grand would buy a nice CD player.
£££££'s doesn't equate to sound quality. I've said this for a while, the biggest factor in hifi is not the kit but the carbon-based lifeform listening.
I went through Amazon using their points that got me everything for free other than the subwoofer and I got this. The Sony STR-DH190 Stereo Receiver, Sony SSCS5 3-Way 3-Driver Bookshelf Speakers and the Sony SACS9 10-Inch Active Subwoofer and all for about $200.
I use my cd players as transports, bypassing the internal dac to my dedicated dac and then system. For people starting this is all good advice. Good video and information.
I listen to about 12 cd's a day most days. Good information and video.
When it comes to CD's I do it alphabetically and by genre. If it's listed on the Trousser Press it goes on the alternative section, that is the biggest section, alternative music from the 90's and some from the 80's.. Other big categories are alt rock artists from the 2000's, R&B artists from the 90's and 2000's, then modern metal and 90's classic rock, then hip hop, then latin rock, then electronica and then pop and trap from the 2010's. Most older music I have it on vinyl, categorized too of course.
Your not gonna believe this...I was at home the other night and I heard a loud bang ..went to the hallway and the front door had been kicked in and Joni Mitchell was standing there .....
Haha, the chances were low, but never zero 😂
Tried a denon dvd 2900 - the best ive had so far. This thing is a beast and sounds amazing with the exclusive BB1790 dacs !
my car has a usb hub, so I rip my discs to mp3's then put them safe on a shelf and take the flash drive in my car. As a teen I runied a few discs taking them in the car so for a long time I only took burned ones in the car. This way if the burn or flash drive gets lost or ruined I can just re do it. If my pc crashed well I still have my discs on my book case and can re rip them. I did some records as a kid, they are nice for sure but cds just work better for me all around.
I drd any
When you show a product why not say what it is as in the brand and model
So, I need to buy a new CD player/receiver/speakers. What’s a good to very good setup that won’t break the bank? I’m looking at about 750 CDs that want to get played again!
Matt, please buy a decent microphone. You sound like you're in your bathroom...
Yeah I know, it's not great using the in built mic. If you look at some of my other videos, you'll know I bought a very nice mic and it wasn't reliably syncing with the computer so I went back to the in built one. Money doesn't grow on trees you know and I'm fully aware of the shortcomings, but equally, I'm spending my time creating videos that you're watching for free. So, you know, cutting us creators a little slack wouldn't do you any harm mate!
just got one from E Bay £69 ! spent all of yesterday with a slipped disc 😢 phoning around and researching turntables what a nightmare 😮 Found a TT550 -bought new belt and stylus - will match my other E Bay find Marantz CD 630 amp and tuner combine
I am 20 and have childhood memories of CD’s and discs. I think my generation is so used to having everything at ease at our fingertips that physical media is beginning to seem endearing and charming to us, vinyl is carrying the torch currently but there’s no doubt that CD’s and possibly cassettes will join the club in due time
Second hand is the way to go.
Fosi V3 + emotiva XT3 and you're good to go for 2k. plug the fosi into a 3.5mm to rca from your amazon echo or whatever. done.
Can you connect it with AirPods Pro?
A Brit with Hootie And The Blowfish! I'm impressed! I'm obsessed with Queen, too...and, "Queen II", lol.
Is this going to create ring wear?!
Terrific video sir I have a older kit dynamo a25 a are turn table and a nad 316 bee int amp.music on cheers
I have this turntable and am pleased with the performance. It plays records very well and discs that jumped on my old more sensitive player play fine on this. The one thing that initially let it down for me was the lack of a lever for the tone arm for when selecting an LP track or certain part of the record. I am now able to move arm manually with confidence however..
A good, beginner level, discussion of the topic. Well done. 👍
can i see the number of the track is playing?? ill buy it if it does
can i know the number of the song is playing?
I tried going back to vinyl after 20 some years on CDs and I couldn’t stand the popping and cracking that never bothered me before the CD. Some of my favorite reference CDs are Metallica Kill Em’ All Billy Idol White Wedding Rush Moving Pictures The Who Who’s Next Steely Dan Anything from Steely Dan
My two cents on how to revive the cd? One of the BIGGEST reason vinyl came back was because of the tangible nature of it. Many people who collect physical media love owing the "stuff". What they need to do is start releasing cd in the LONG BOXES AGAIN!!! Give us collectors something more tangible to collect. Especially outside of these pathetic, flattened digipaks. I have about 5000 lps and 1500 cds. If they were reissuing all the Iron Maiden, Priest, Ozzy, Pearl Jam, John Coltrane, etc cds again and putting them in the Long Boxes will all the artwork?....I would LITERALLY being going out and rebuying ALL those brand new cds again that I already have! If they want an revival they need to focus on the the collectors who want "Music Stuff"!!!
