I was also thinking with the fireplace cover. If you put two boards across the bottom. You could build legs similar to a TV tray to set the fireplace cover on. So it covers the fire pit, and then it doubles as a table while you're using the fire pit.

The basket/ crate with hardware cloth I'd do biscuit cuts and glue them just makes a but joint 10x sturdier

Hello, does anyone know how I can do this without a host 20v battery as both my 20V batteries won't charge? I have 2 fully working 18V drill batteries but I guess you need 20V ? Can anyone help?

I came to this video from the old one. I still can't figure out why the top trim pieces need the bevel but the legs do not. Can anyone help me understand how the legs could've been cut with only a miter but the top ultimately creates an angle that requires a bevel to flatten? Is it just that the legs aren't flat against the supporting surface? Why don't the legs also need the bevel?

I know this is an old build but why is the bevel necessary on the top trim? Since the pieces are forming a square up top, wouldn't a 45 degree miter on it's own be just fine?

I love all the fence picket items. I'm just curious, what kind of joinery would you recommend? Whenever I manage to get them planed down, they are so thin, around 3/8 if I am lucky. I dont think I can even get them square and even enough to do dovetails. So far, its been dado joints and box joints and pne locking rabbet . Id love to try and get some miter joints with some dark biscuits, but i cant get them square enough to make it look right. Maybe I'm just too much of a critic for my own work. lol

I just bought 6 cedar fence pickets today from our local Home Depot & they were $3.28 apiece. That's still a cheap build for those baskets.😊

This would be really cool with the 'main' stationary table made into a router table...! Also, as I'm watching the video, I see that the fold out legs are always straight in line with the last L shaped arm.. could you modify the design slightly so the arm is just long so the legs are one solid piece?

I did. It is so helpful the way you breakdown each build and show how to problem solve issues that occur during the build!! I don't know how anyone doesn't watch to the end; they are missing out.

What do you do if the battery reads dead and the charger says it’s full and the tool says it’s dead too??

The problem with landscape timbers in my area is that you have to let them dry out for 3-6 months. They are practically dripping when they come into the store who then places them outside in the weather. In a normal year, you could find a few dry ones, but not this year with rain every 3-5 days. Other than that, they would work great.
