I’d like to build this - but does the cost include things like wood glue, screws, etc?

Nice Banksy art!
❤🫶🏼 thank you for the Bob Ross reference 😂
One of the better pieces of advice on making money from woodworking I’ve gotten was “if you wanna make a name for yourself, sell beautiful custom pieces, if you wanna actually make money, sell outdoor furniture”
biggest money maker using wood I ever did was a three tier garden bed that wrapped around a customers deck, they got tired of looking at ugly plastic lattice. they mentioned wanting a garden and it killed two birds with one stone. They filled the entire thing tomato plants XD
1,800 dollars? Wow!! Gonna give this a shot. Built one of your cedar planters and posted it on Facebook and got 8 orders for 18 planters within 24 hours!! Thanks
Very nice!
How much were you charging, if you don't mind my asking?
@shda5582 I'm trying to figure that out myself. Material + time =?
I'll be making them soon, but I'm guessing around $300ish. But I think I always under price my stuff.
@normanwein8741 I dunno, I've been told that the picket planter boxes I did was too high at 40 but who knows?
You jiving man?
When you have the right tools…you can build it easily, but not every one has a workshop that is so well equiped! 😊 beautifully done.
The tools don’t cost as much as you think for basic ones. As long as you’ve got a mitre block, saw and clamps you can make these. It will just take more effort as you’re physically sawing. Don’t be put off.
The dude uses a 4 dollar bit extension instead of just having 19 drills like every other "woodworking" youtuber. You're barking at the wrong cat.
Bottom line is the carpenter makes the tool, the tool doesn't make the carpenter.
@@philspd473I’m not even a carpenter and I know this. I can do more with just a circular saw than most men could do with a full workshop. I was a commercial steamfitter by trade, once you know how to really use a tape and field measure things you “can” do just about everything any other tradesman can do. I might be “slower” at it than a true carpenter but I’m also a perfectionist on everything I do😂
@@ligyron2835 agreed.
13:23 great build this far!! Caught that you left the 1/4” spacers out of this step before you mentioned it! “Screw ups” happen! Thanks for being human and including them!
It happens! 😬
I've been following you for awhile now, and I have to tell you how much I appreciate you and your videos. I've even started using fence pickets for most of my builds. I have been woodworking for over 10 years, and honestly your videos brought new life to my work. I had all but lost my love for working in my shop, because I was building the same thing over and over again.
This is great to hear. Keep up the good work.
Love the "realness" of your video! Quite comical, but perfectly placed without hurting your instructions. Keeping the outtakes and not trying to be "perfect" was also refreshing! Oh....and great camera work!
Thank you. The statement on your T-shirt was exactly what I needed to hear this morning. Sometimes the simplest things that you hear resonate the deepest.
Clicked cuz I like how the planter looks but little did I know it would include bonus content showing the “I can build that” motto and that young man’s *glorious* hair 😊.
Good stuff!
Recently discovered your channel and I’m hooked! As a beginner, I’m so appreciative of your easy to understand directions, looking forward to more videos and building more, including this. Keep doing great and thank you!!
The quality of your mic is amazing it’s satisfying on the ears
Looks like the DJI wireless kit on his hat. Pretty great idea for placing it there instead of his shirt.
Excellent !!! I always enjoy your videos Mathew, thanks for the spot on instructions, cut list, and humor. I have built several of your projects in the past, and sold several of your planters, snowflakes, and coffee tables glad I found your channel.
Matt, I don't have a shop at the time, all my tools in storage, but thank you so much for your encouraging videos. I love em! I am a man of Faith, far from a perfect man. But, if ya don't mind, I'm gonna keep you and yours in prayer that he bless your channel and all your endeavors!
Thank you for sharing your creativity.
Power of positive thought. Awesome. Subscribed!
Love the encouragement you give to your viewers on your channel. I don’t see that much on other channels. Skills aside, that’s one or more up on others 😀
Wow, Matthew I just found your channel recently. I have been woodworking for many years and have built many nice projects over the years. I gotta say I really love your channel and the content. Your presentation for the builds are outstanding. And I love the fact you are so pragmatic in your approach to building, and not wasteful with your resources. You are my kind of woodworker. Not needing to spend a fortune on materials to make something beautiful and useful. Thanks for the videos! Keep em coming. 👍
Thanks for the inspiration!! I need to get my woodshop back up and running!
I can build that!! Love it!!! RCW is going to be put back on the map.
Awesome! Love the colour contrast in this build. Plus a very entertaining video. Great team, you two.
Outstanding project! Disassembled for easy transport!
Thank you, Matt and Ethan. What a great build.
Our pleasure!
Absolutely love this one Bob! Starting this one today. Thanks...best woodworking videos out there.
Thank you!
This is a great project Matthew. You're a Hero once again.
Thank you for sharing! Blessings to you and yours!!!🙏🇺🇸
Same to you!
Awesome build as always. Love the bloopers! I just told the wife it planter season and we need to get started. Always enjoy the tips and tricks Matt!!!
This one is on my things to build this spring. Nice.
Love your channel! Thank you for always sharing.
I love this and thank you so much for sharing how to make this. I have to make this for my patio.
Wow, I LOVE that!! Definitely on my to-do list!
Yea!!
Love the work shop! Planter bench looks great🎉🎉
Thanks again , Matthew! Another great build!
Thanks again!
Time saver tip!
Don't cut down the slats. Leave them 1 1/2" and space off end 1/4" and 3/8" between...
I just did that and it looks great!😊
@richpalmisano1740 thanks for this comment!!! I’m
Looking a building one of the but in a U shape, so, 4 planters and 3 benches, for a customer. Haven’t given them a price yet. And instead of black, they want the color to match their house siding.
I think this project makes a lot of sense, very practical and your presentation was excellent. I am going to make this, Thank You.
I’ve been thinking about building an ottoman bed, with storage underneath. I’m not very experienced yet. It’s going to be quite a project, more complicated than the foot stool and shelf I’ve made so far, and last night I was doubting whether I should do it or just buy a new bed from Ikea. Your mantra was exactly what I needed to hear. If you can dream it, you can build it. Thanks a lot, mate. Also, I appreciate the focus on protection. You’re setting a good example.
That’s a really nice job thanks for sharing it
Awesome video ..thank you
What an attractive project! I think I would add an 8 or 10” free floating X support piece for under the pot. Painted to match the frame. Thanks for the inspiration!
Great idea!
Trying to figure out where this cross support piece would go. Would like to build one for my backyard. Thanks in advance if you can please elaborate.
I think you would put it at the bottom for the pot to sit on..
@@ashokmoghe8035 Hi, sorry I missed this yesterday. Gerald is correct. I wouldn’t want the bottom of the pot peaking out the sides at the bottom, so the support would raise it to the level of the side panels.
It would also be beneficial for drainage- unless you go with the Bob Ross of course 😉
Hello Matthew! I really enjoy your content and humor! I don’t miss a video and I will join Patreon as soon as soon as i start getting my VA disability. I finally have gotten my shop set up and made room to use my old ridgid table saw. I am going to start making the rustic wears and small that you focus on a lot so I can sell them at a market and pull in some extra income. Smalls will be something I will be able to lift. Sorry, got long winded but just wanted to thank you!
Amazing thanks for sharing
😊 I CAN BUILD THAT!! Matthew, I love your channel ❤❤❤❤❤!! Taking what looks so complicated and making it so simple!!
Thank you!
Blessings ❤
PS... making one of these planter- benches for my garden space!!
Nice hood over your chop saw! That’s a great idea…that I’m gonna steal for my chop saw.
Thank you for the lesson for the planters.
I am starting my new job tomorrow, but will be making this next weekend. This looks so cool. Thank you Matthew!!
You got this!
Always appreciate your videos, keep up the great work Matt!
Thanks! Will do!
WOWWWW, love this. I wish I could make this. Your videos and projects are amazing.
Beautiful!
Thanks for posting video.
Thank you for sharing
Another great video! Hope to get the chance to start doing some of these projects soon. I'm only home every other weekend and working on a house reno most of my time at home. Thanks. I plan to use woodworking as my retirement plan.
I love this! I read your, about me page! I used to be a nurse too! Your page popped up in my CZcams que, lucky for you, you now have a new subscriber! About me, ex nurse. US Navy Veteran (D), and now retired Ala. State Employee. (Due to earlier stuff)...lol! Glad to meet ya and as soon as my Rt Sciatic nerve stops hurting from my Arse to my Ankle, I'm gonna try and build this!!! I didn't see the plans so I'm gonna do what I did as a kid and teenager when I wanted to know the words of a song. Listen, stop, Write, stop, Repeat Listen, stop, Write(make changes), stop, Repeat Listen......you get it! But this time, Watch Listen, stop, Write, Repeat, Watch Listen, stop, Write, Repeat! LMAO AND UR2!!!✝️🙏❤🇺🇸
Love your work Matt. Has given this new to woodwork fellah some great ideas to learn with. Thanks!
Great to hear!
This looks great.
Beautiful! We are building a deck and these would be perfect to set the mood of relaxation. I have to show this to my husband and beg him to help me build it lol thanks for the video.
Lol I worked at a floral wholesale warehouse....those are artificial boxwood orbs. They were really popular in the wedding designers....all that foo foo stuff. As clerical staff and having put together a few 100, they are an absolute pain. I wish I had thought of the Bob Ross thing...the boss lady would have had a stroke. :)
Great design for the planter bench!
This is another awesome video. You make a great teacher. Thanks.
You're very welcome!
WOW!!! you are very handy!!! wished I had all that machinery to cut wood!!!
Really enjoyed the video
Thanks
Those are awesome…might have to try this out..
They look great.
Great job
Literally was "eyeing that super cool shirt" that you were wearing when you said that, sold! Thanks for all your inspiration, knowledge sharing, and keeping us current on trends!
Amazing job love this. I'm a 67yr old heart transplant patient I really want to try this. Love love love it
Another great build and video!!
Thanks again!
Once I get a table saw, I'm definitely gonna build this. Cool project for sure
Love those panels! Could be used for other projects too.
Nice work as always
i cant build it but I love watching you make it! found you tonight ...subscribed
I love this!! I hope my husband can make this with the saw he has
Disassemble is the proper word lol! I love your work man. It looks amazing I’ll try my shot at making one!
Another project that is awesome Plan to make my first one for myself Thanks again and I really like that your videos are so relaxed Keep them coming
Thank you!
I subscribed today brother, I’ve built to many of your projects and never realized I wasn’t subscribed yet! I fixed that😁
Awesome! Thank you!
Love it nice design and great video description as always will definitely be getting these plans.....the wife LOVED the planter I built from your plans last year and even though the wife wanted it unfinished in raw pine it is still holding up great
Great to hear! Thanks for the support.
Wow!!! Nice
Love this!!!!! Thank you! new subscriber
My man you are making my mind race with these videos. I've watched like 10 in a row.
Thank you gonna start with mothers day gift the go from there.
I like the dresser drawer behind him to the right (our right).
It’s split apart on the top! (!!!)
Man I love the impact this thing has, it looks substantial but doesn't take a ton of wood.
I prefer planters that can hold dirt without a pot, but it would be easy to modify the horizontal rails to work with some fence picket panels.
In my area cedar has come way down in price so it's well worth it to spend a little more to upgrade.
If yall watch him so much why not subscribe!? It hurts nothing and helps him build his channel and bring us more content!
AWESOME build Wes!!! Very cool to see you include your grandson in this build. Can you tell me please - where did you buy the Lego track from. Thank you so much - I enjoy watching and learning from you.
Love the sense of humour. Well done
Now I have a project for today, thank you as always. 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thank you! Enjoy.
Nice build.
OMG... I LOVE this! Yes, I will make it BUT, since I dont have the tools, I will source my woodsin their finished sites and go from there. YAY!!!
Great videos sir!
Can’t wait to build that and see what people around here are willing to pay for it.
Another great project!! Thanks for keeping the projects rolling!!
Love it!
Thank you for sharing your work 🫶🏽
My pleasure!
@@MatthewPeechWoodworking I had wood shop as a teenager and I fell in love with the art of wood. But sadly I don’t have the tools to really build anything but I love all things wood. Thanks to Mr Thomas 🫶🏽
Oh this is great!
Thank you.
I like the slat and grove method. Just what I needed to make a diy headboard for my diy bedframe/
I like the project. I don’t have the space for this but it makes me want to find some.
Well, i saw a lot of comments about tools. I'm downsizing my tools and thinking I can do this with a circular saw, mini circular saw and skill saw. It'll be fun to try.
You’re so awesome!!
Love your work. I wish I had tools to do that, nevermind the $ to purchase them. . So since I can't build anything,, I'll watch your work and dream what I could do one day
Love it ❤
Nice way to get away from the smalls for a little bit but still need to keep the smalls. Even if not for selling, this is a practical home build for much less than retail. Very nice! Videos along this theme would b good to continue. Total build time for this one??? Keep the vids coming brother ross peech😂
Only one thing I would add. That is a couple dowels (not glued, just inserted) at the ends of the bench where they rest on the planter. As it is, if someone moves the planter, the bench will fall down. The dowels will keep the bench from separating (with use or unexpectedly) from the planter. Excellent work and looks really nice.
That's a good idea too... but weren't the rails attached with pocket hole screws to the planters?
@@theoriginalmonstermaker Were they? I thought they were just laid on top. I may have missed that. Disregard my comment if so.
He attached with pocket holes but your idea is pretty good too
@spocksvulcanbrain what's good about your idea, especially if you want to break them down to store at end of each season, is that you can easily reconfigure them in different arrangements and not damage out surface of planters.
Both could be useful depending on application.
Too funny Matt. Great call on the Bob Ross bush😂😂😂😂😂
🤣
Holy smokes this is great!!!
Thanks so much.
Hi Matthew, Nice looking garden bench. Now this might just be a camera angle, but it looks like the stained slats that you're sitting on are bowing. Do you not think that three supports under the bench slats would be a stronger option? By the way, if you put a board on one of the planters, then a pillow or a cushion, You could sleep for much longer and be more comfortable. Regards
This content going man you kick ass
I'm subscribed, I enjoy how you teach, and your humor 😅
Welcome aboard!
