Hi. Mine has a plastic membrane covering the whole inside of the roof, so what do you suggest? Thanks

Hi, I’ve got a light fixture from IKEA that only has the live and neutral terminals and I’m trying to change a pendant fixture which I suppose has a live, neutral and ground… what do I do with the ground in this case please? Thank you so much in advance!
Put all the earth's (green and yellow) together into a connector, but don't connect them to the new light. The new light fitting is double insulated and does not require an earth! Hope that helps you?
Brilliant video! I've subbed your channel. Some great content on here.👍

Every time I stop my Makita 18V LXT string trimmer, the head spins off. I cannot figure out how to tighten it enough for it to stay on every time I stop my string trimmer. The 3yr warranty just ran out. Any ideas on how I can fix it?
Oh no, that's not something I've come across. Have you tried contacting makita direct, they are normally really good
What a waste of time
I think it good for £10. Takes away any guess work when hanging a picture with a string or wire
That is a brilliant tool, cheers for that

Thanks good video
Thank you too, I'm glad you liked the video
like a bellend i bought the black and decker one purely bcoz i had a spare battery from the drill i bought from lidl back in 2021. which also had a charger. remember when they had the drill, battery and charger for 45 quid? well ide bought that. so 3 years later ide started a gaedening business. (bought loads of makita tools labouring and ended up with 10 batteries. so when ide bought the shit black and decker strimmer, i wasnt aware that makita made gardening kit. the reason why i think the black n decker strimmer at 90 quid is shit is bcoz the battery takes 4 hours to charge fully. and what do you get out of that 4 hours? 20 minutes ON ECO MODE!! not a good deal that is it? however, 20 mins charging the makita battery on a makita charger gives u 20-40 mins usage. seem like a no brainer. so im selling the black and decker drill, 2 batteries and charger, and also a corded black n decker strimmer and just bought the makita 18v strimmer. my gardening jobs are increasing. gaining more n more customers every week. so.....i now have the makita 18v for small lawn jobs and went out n bought the makita petrol strimmer for large lawn jobs (where there are no windows close by LOL. last year i bought the makita 36v mower too. thats a decent bit of kit for small to medium lawns but i worked it out..... going through 2 batteries each time, then whipping them onto the double charger, and using another 2 fully charged batteries.... over the months ile be draining their capacity very quick...and at 60-70 quid each.......i decided to buy a petrol mower. finally got my tools tweaked down to efficiency. Oh and i bought the makita telescopic hedge trimmer too. hardly use it but its decent tool!! hope my massive story helped someone make sense of gardening jobs hahaha
Hi, thanks for your comment and I hope my Makita strimmer and Makita hedge trimmer review have helped with your decision to get Makita kit. I'm really impressed with mine but went for a petrol lawnmower as our lawns are quite big.
excellent presentation......easy to follow.......you should be on tv making your own programme regarding practical tips

wonderful teaching, thank you (from belgiium)
That's amazing, glad you liked the video!
Is there a rule to work out how much concrete you'd need to buy per metre square?
I mix mine at a ratio of 5 parts ballast to 1 part cement and use this under the slabs. I just mix it as I go but I'm sure you can find calculator online
I do all these things and I've never yet had a disaster but it still always makes me nervous!
Yeah, it's easy to make mistakes! I always say just take your time as things often go wrong when you're rushing!
@@FixitwithFowlerAmen to that, mate!
@rich8037 😁
Good tip there on using torque wrench for final tighten of screws,I have used impact driver before all the way and it pushed the wood away from the wall so I know what to do now in future, thank you
I'm glad you liked the video and the tips in it, I always try and make the videos informative. Thanks for your comment 👍
Cool vid buddy. I've used concrete screws a coupla times in the house. When you asked your question, my brain still thought firstly of hammer-in fisher-fixings. Yeah concrete screws for the Win !
The concrete screws are brilliant, I will be using them in my next video when I make some shelves in my garage! Thanks for your comment 👍
Great video thanks! I know post Crete would be a more expensive method but would it be ok to use this instead for quickness? It would be for big shed? Also do you think slabs should be slightly higher than rest of ground for water run off and a bit of air flow under the shed?
Hi, don't use postcre for the base as it's not designed for that. You can use quick setting cement in the mix, but be warned it does set In about 10 mins. Ad for rain run off I would definitely sit the base slightly higher
❤
Thanks for you comment, wicked user name 😁
I steve love all ur video,s well done keepp up the great work. What makita sds drill is that and would u recomend it .thank you
Hi, firstly thanks for your great comment I really appreciate it. The sds is a makita 18v amzn.to/4bfUKRl I'm really pleased with it and never use my mains drill now!
Looked a little under powered.
It may look it, but i have been using it regularly since my review, and I can honestly say it isn't. However, if I was comparing the power of those to a mains powered strimmer, then it isn't as powerful, but then again, it won't be.
Excellent 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Can't hear you at all unfortunately
Yeah that's a really old video but I have a mic now for that reason!
Great instructional video. Thanks.
I'm glad it was helpful, and thanks for your comment 👍
Great video mate concrete screws are brilliant 👍
Yeah these concrete screws are a great product. I'm going to do some shelving in the garage and I will definitely use the concrete screws for that!
Is that safe to do running it off a plug? Is that the same principle as an extension lead I take it?
Yeah it's exactly the same principle as an extension lead and this allows it to be remote controlled. However the downside is that it limits the total power output of the socket to 13amps. I do have another video of adding an extra socket by extending the existing circuit wiring. czcams.com/video/7LOpzrqIzqY/video.htmlsi=4lB772fZJiHzygGt
Fantastic video, thanks for taking the time to share it. You've got +1 subscriber from me mate. Cheers
Thanks for your comment and a big thanks for subscribing!
What make and model is your hammer drill??, good video
The battery sds is a makita DHR242Z amzn.to/3QHSSIE I'm really pleased with it.
Loving your videos. This might be a daft question, but, I've got a light switch right next to a place that I want a socket. Could I use the wires from the light switch or is it unsafe to do so?
Hi, unfortunately you can't. The power rating of the circuit/cables will not be big enough to take the load of the socket.
@@FixitwithFowler ok. Thanks for the advice.
@leighbird1970 no problem
I've never heard of concrete screws. I've always used rawl plugs. Definitely going to get some as I've got some french cleats to attach to the wall.
These concrete screws are brilliant, just make sure you use the correct size drill bit. Here's a link to the ones I've used amzn.to/3WFjr51
@@FixitwithFowler thanks. I'll give them a try.
@leighbird1970 you won't be disappointed!
Absolutely spot-on was thinking about buying a metal one. Makita track saw blade for my battery operated. Makita circular saw but like you say I only use it once in awhile so I’m gonna have a go at making this myself. Thank you very much for all the info is brilliant, good video
It's really easy to make, and not only does the track saw guide ensure you cut straight, it also prevents any tear out of the material you are cutting. Thanks for your comment 👍
Exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks!
I'm glad the video was helpful, let me know how you get on fixing your noisy stairs
Thanx!👍🏾
No problem, I hope the video was helpful
Milton baby bottle cleaner is very good also
Oh never thought of trying that!
20 quid for 25ltr drum of 15% hypo from a farmers co op store. Better than anything else, just don't spray it with decent clothes on as it will bleach everything.
Oh I've never heard of that, thanks for your comment 👍
I don’t need an extra socket
That's saved you a job then 🤣🤣
A bit different if there was a thick concrete slab there not just mud 😂
I put the post in 7 years ago with postcrete. The key is to use a decent breaker like in the video! You can see the full length video on my channel where you can clearly see the postcrete
