Good afternoon. I don’t know what to do. I decided to contact a specialist. I’m leaving for a long time. I don’t know what to do with the heating boiler. The brand of the boiler. Some advise not to turn it off, but only to lower the temperature on the meter to 12 degrees Celsius. And leave the boiler running. Others advise draining all the water from the radiators and turning everything off completely. I’m worried about what to do. Last year I simply turned off my gas heating boiler completely. And as a result, in December something burst in the attic where the water tank was and flooded everything. Please advise what to do. Best regards.

Hi, my advice would be to leave your boiler on but down the thermostat down to 5°. This is the standard frost setting to prevent freezing, but if you wanted to air on the side of caution, you could set the thermostat to 8°.
