      I am using it for subwoofers, yes. I would look up the specs of the l/r speakers and the specs of this or any amp you may decide on to see if you can wire it into a 6ohm load properly at the correct power levels to prevent damage to the speakers.

    That 10dB boost you applied at 58 kinda added a big boost for the left and right seats. I would probably want to find a middle ground at 5db boost so the boost isn't as intense for the side seats.

  • @nemakis
    @nemakis Před 27 dny

    Two points. 1. The benefit of double subwoofers is to better cover nulls and spikes in frequencies. To achieve this, the 2 subwoofers must be far from each other in the room. Ideally in the two front corners, or diagonally in the corners, or in the middle of the room on the side walls, etc. Placing them almost next to each other, I doubt if ideal results will be achieved. 2 The amplifier you have supports both multiEQ XT32 and SubEQ HT, Sub EQ HT is a method we came up with to deal with multiple subs. If you only have one sub then it's not in use. The idea is to first measure each sub separately, then apply delay and level settings so that the two subs are now time and level aligned. Then we ping them once more as "one" sub to derive the room correction filter. By using the two subwoofers in an output as one, there is no use of the ability to first calibrate between them in level and time alignment, so that later both aligned between them, to calibrate in the room as well. You could connect them both to the two outputs of the amplifier and eliminate the mini dsp. And then if you need dsp setup, you could use the built-in dsp that the svs 1000 pro have, through the mobile app that the svs subwoofers have.

    • @petermuwanula7142
      @petermuwanula7142 Před 26 dny

      I would not think so. It would possible if the soundbar had an LFE output. The LFE output then would also allow u to set the frequency response to 80hz or 60hz which is needed for the shakers which should activate when the bass is really low. U should not be sending high frequencies to the shaker. They will get damaged. I highly doubt soundbars have this output so the answer to you question is unfortunately “No” 😢

      Thank you very much - appreciate it! I honestly don't remember the width, I thought I mentioned it in the video maybe. It's not very big, I'm thinking it was 2" wide total and I basically lined it up on the outside edge and flipped whatever remained (1") to the front of the screen which forms the border you see when looking straight on at it. Hopefully that makes sense.

    hey great video.. quick question. I'm confused how to set up multiple shakers. I have a dedicated amp with 4ohm currently connected to one shaker. But i want to add another one. Do i need to change the amp to 8ohm? each shaker is also 4ohm

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele Před 2 měsíci

      You change the Ohms by how they are wired. Do a google search for wiring diagrams and it will show you how to wire them up properly so you have the correct ohms going to each shaker. I have 2 shakers on each 'channel' coming from the 8 ohm amp so that each shaker receives 4 ohms, for example.

    For a good laugh : This was Denons reply to my question : Thank you for contacting Denon Customer Care. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you. Regretfully, our AVR's were not manufactured to power more than one sub in a single subwoofer output so we will not be able to assist you in this matter. We recommend that you consult with a professional installer in this matter. We hope this helps! Best Regards, Christopher So ... thanks for posting this and getting me onto the path of fixing this issue !!. I replied to my own post in how I solved it, in case anyone is having the same problem as me, in that my shakers wouldn't run hard enough for Audyssey to pick anything up and still wouldn't enable the second sub output on my X6700H. Appreciated !!

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele Před 3 měsíci

      Yes, you don't want the secondary receivers adjusting the bass signal from the Denon. Its only purpose is to amplify the signal to power the shakers. On my Onkyo I have a 'Direct' setting which simply passes the signal straight through and does not adjust it with any type of EQ or anything at all. That's how I have mine set up. You can always try it out and see what you like, it's not necessarily wrong.

    Didn't work for me .... I'm running my transducers via an old sub woofer plate amp on sub two, that isn't very powerful, but for me, it was good enough as I don't like to run my buttkickers too "hot" anyway. But it doesn't output enough for Audyssey to detect any "noise" from the transducers. I'm gonna try and connect another sub I have in it's place so that it at least detects "something". Not sure how much that is going to mess with my sub response since it's atm ... perfect. Running 4 subs off sub 1 via a MiniDSP and have my subs gain matched, time aligned. I'll report back. But honestly Denon should be pushing out a firmware update that gives you the option to label sub 2 as a "transducer" so it doesn't over ride Audyssey. I've emailed me ....... lets see what they say.

    • @diamond4829
      @diamond4829 Před 3 měsíci

      So ...... here was my work around. I used a Y splitter fed into my MiniDSP and ran both sub 1 and sub 2 into the MiniDSP. So essentially running the same set of subs for both. That way it detected the "subs". Then just disconnected the Y splitter and put everything back to where it was, Sub 1 into the MiniDPS and Sub 2 back into the plate amp for the bass shakers. Then afterwards I was able to change the distance for sub 2 to "time align" the transducers ( bass shakers ) to match the sub response. Hope this helps anyone else that has the issue I'm having.

    I actually prefer "dynamic EQ" as it more or less gives you an auto "house curve" for lower volumes. It wasn't until a couple days later, I didn't recall it asking me to choose the - db setting ( I use 0 db ) so I went back in to double check, and low and behold, I discovered that Audyssey was "disabled" and greyed out. And sure enough it was because I had added Sub 2 for the transducers / buttkickers. So this video helped out a lot, thank you. For those of you who don't like Audyssey for various reasons, particularly when it "sucks out" your sub woofer response, I highly recommend you having a look at Home Theater Guru's series. Specifically, episode 44 on using Audyssey selectively. I would also recommend episodes 8 and 7 for those who are really serious about finding that magic bubble of sound in their theaters. Hope this helps. Down the rabbit hole of home theater sound we go ..... lol ............. anyway ... I liked and subscribed to your channel cause you helped me work through this issue. Awesome !!

    Hello. I recently watched your bass shaker install video and found it very helpful as I also had an older receiver I wanted to use to power the shakers. My man receiver is a Denon S570bt. My spare receiver is a Denon AVR-E200. I’m running a cable from my 2nd sub out on my main receiver into the coax DVD input in the 2nd receiver. I’m pretty confident I wired it correctly but I’m receiving nothing from the shakers which are the Dayton Audio 50w shakers. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    • @johnmitchell9219
      @johnmitchell9219 Před 3 měsíci

      Follow up question. Should the receiver for the bass shakers be set to the same output as the main receiver (i. E. Blu-ray)-or the input I have the coax plugged into (I. E. Sat or DVD) ?

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele Před 3 měsíci

      You might have it wired correctly, just make sure the 2nd receiver is set to the input coming from the main receiver. My old receiver has a 'direct' setting, meaning it doesn't change the signal coming from my main Denon AVR and just passes the signal through after amplifying it. I also have a speaers A or B option on my older receiver, and I have to make sure they are both turned on in order to activate all the channels I am using on the old receiver. It's probably a settings problem - so just keep messing with it until you get it right.

    I would love help figuring out how to assign pre outs to FL, FR, C. I have a 3 channel amp powering the front stage and the denon x4500h should be power the rest of the speakers, but the pre outs haven’t been assigned. Can’t seem to figure out how to do that and I feel like if I don’t, my amp is essentially useless. Please help!

    Hello. Why not „video output: bypass.“ so the denon always changes the video signal. In my case, Apple TV change the picture perfect, and the denon changes again the Apple settings. So, bypass. Direct from Apple to tv

      Nothing to report at all - we still love the system and it has been working perfectly for over 3 years now. They just released a new mobile app too with some better functionality.

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele Před 4 měsíci

      Not sure I understand what your problem is. If you aren't getting any sound from your speakers then I'd check all the speaker setup settings. If you aren't getting test tones for the microphone to measure then you must not be in the correct setup menu either. I'd google search for an online owners manual for your receiver if you don't have one. That should help you out.

    My receiver has 4 sub outputs, 2 of which will be powering subs. Would you recommend using the other two outputs for four bass shakers?

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele Před 4 měsíci

      It sounds like you sure could. Just make sure you match the correct OHM rating of the shakers to the receiver. That happens during the wiring part. Google a correct wiring diagram. And make sure the receiver powering the shakers, if it's a secondary receiver from the main receiver, is set to 'direct' or is in a pass-through phase so it doesn't mess or change anything with the bass signal it is getting from the main receiver. Hope that helps!

      along same lines. I have a DENON AVR with 2 SUBWOOFER PREOUTS (1 and 2, Both mono RCA). my actual SUBWOOFER speaker is connected to SUB PREOUT 1. I am looking to connect a 100 W Sub-Amp and 2 50W 4 ohm shakers to the Denon AVR SUB PREOUT 2 rather than a 2nd RCVR like you did. most the sub-amps have a set of L/R RCA jacks for the audio IN. Can I assume that a RCA Y cable from my DENON SUB 2 out going to the L and R audio IN jacks will be fine. or should I connect a straight mono RCA cable from DENON AVR SUB 2 OUT to either just the L or just the R audio IN of sub-amp? @@TyEichele

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele Před 3 měsíci

      @@DIgiHoolligan Pretty sure you'll need a Y cable to split that signal into your subwoofer amp in order for it to work correctly. Unless one of the L or R inputs are labeled Mono, meaning it accepts a single signal, you'll more than likely need both of them connected in order for the amp to work.

    Does the behringer have any type of auto on /off or trigger input? Can it be controlled with any remote? Or do you know of any amp like that that does? Such as crown

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele Před 4 měsíci

      I can't comment on other brands as I'm not familiar with them. The Behringer only has a push button on/off switch and can't be controlled by any type of remote capabilities. I'm hoping to upgrade to a different brand, like a crown, in the near future though.

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele Před 5 měsíci

      Thank you! The screen is mounted on hinges and swings open for access behind it. Otherwise I'd have to move the rack out of the way and go in through the panel behind the rack. Much easier to open the screen. My other videos show this - check them out!

    What all ended up with its own circuit? And how do those towers sound? I have heard you're not supposed to do cubbies for them. I was considering something similar

    • @TyEichele
      @TyEichele Před 5 měsíci

      The entire rack is on it's own circuit. So all of the home theater equipment is minus the two rear powered subwoofers since they plug into the rear wall outlets that are part of that room's electrical circuit. The speakers sound great, I have no complaints at all with them. They are an on-wall design speaker, completely encased, so recessing them into the wall like I did does not affect sound output. I just wished I could've figured out a way to have them aimed inwards towards the main listening position, but even without that they still work great and give a nice wide sound stage up front.
