After Live Tapes. I my favourite BJh "Live" album is Legacy. In recent years John Lees seems to favour the early stuff he did, especially from the Woolly years. The 50th anniversary recording is pretty good too.

Such a major loss Network. What's sadder, and even more depressing for archival television has been the lack of archival television releases since Network's demise. The BFI announced earlier this year that the BBC Play for Today's didn’t sell well for the BFI, so the BFI withdrew the license from the BBC. This was a major blow, plus just before Network's demise, Simply Media went belly up! Simply Media had a license from the BBC and Channel 4 with some cracking tv dramas from both archive's. There's talk that Indicator may consider opening up a separate label for past tv shows that are more obscure, and since Network went a new label called Old Gold Media are releasing re-issue titles from the Network back catalogue. Old Gold Media is run by a guy who used to work for Freemantle Media, but unfortunately, Old Gold Media don't have a license from Studio Canal or ITV Global to distribute their material, just material from the Freemantle library in Australia. Its difficult to know whether Old Gold will release fresh archival material from Freemantle's Thames TV vaults or just carry on releasing what Network put out.

Alex is exactly right, Hollywood is like a cancer to filmmaking around the world. This is why our industry in the UK is in massive recession is because of Hollywood! We should have a thriving film industry like France, but because there is and was so much corruption. I'm glad they mentioned the Film Council, who were an utter disgrace. Love your films Alex and I hope this is not your last movie!

This is great - had never come across the channel until this. And the political stuff at the beginning is spot on.

He recently got a great compliment from Roger Deakins - who looks back more fondly at "Sid & Nancy" than at first. Paul Thomas Anderson's current film in production is said to be "Repo Man" influenced. Deakins said Cox's wild unpredictable approach is what's missing from current films.

Would love to see Alex Cox direct a biopic about Eugene Debs. It's long overdue and he's the perfect guy for the job. There's a great story there that few know and it's certainly relevant to the current political climate.

Best of luck on the project Alex. It better not be your last movie.

Fantastic interview Davy, for those of us of a certain age Alex via MovieDrome was our gateway to some incredible movies we could only read about and opened up the idea of films being political. Still recall the initial screening of The Big Silence and Face to Face. An absolute legend that I could listen to for hours

Danny Whitten was amazing

I love the album so much and I love the sound of this 2018 remaster, but it kinda bothers me what they did with the beginnings of The Weight and Lonesome Suzie songs with those countings before the songs begin... Maybe it's just me, but now it sounds like an error that was left behind

Great review, will definitely pick up, I don’t know about over there in the UK but here in Canada Neil’s new releases tend to be overpriced. $32 for a single CD is a bit ridiculous but unfortunately this seems to be a trend. Finally found Fu##in’ Up this week at half the price of Early Daze.
