Its definitely a must have for Purple fans like you said! And hopefully it'll have more Whitesnake fans look at Purple too. I haven't actually listened to the original Purple album front-to-back so it did surprise me to hear David do some of Glenn's parts. Right now I think Gypsy is my favorite
Okay, you had me at "Coverdale demo". This video awoke the pedant in me. I wanted to inject the phrase "post '87" before the word Whitesnake every time you used it when describing their sound. 😅 That's just me living in the past though. This sounds like it might be really interesting though and appears to offer vfm. As an aside, a young worthy heir apparent to Jon Lord might be the young man who has played with Rosalie Cunningham the last couple of times I've seen her. His name is Dave Dulake and I think he also plays with Tuppenny Bunters. Whoever he was, he certainly knows his way around a keyboard and isn't afraid to set them rocking on their feet!
When the wax logo seal is on a WS release, it's implicit to mean "87 and beyond" I think - but I've got a vid on the Box O Snakes with all the early records, and that's my fave era!

Doug actually left before this for completely different reasons, I actually think the album would of been better with Doug on it as his style actually fits this better than Joel’s.
I will definitely be getting the cd/dvd version but the £40.00 2LP vinyl can stay on the shelf. ALL of these Coverdale/Whitesnake remasters/remixes are fantastic, the highlight and best one yet was the Restless Heart box set, it's another Whitesnake album isn't it. So different and so much better than the original.
Rock on! I've no idea why people would want the vinyl - none of the historic demos, none of the bluray content...but costs a tenner more? Ummm, no thanks! Restless Heart was a revelation- I talked Pete at SOT into buying it with "forget the original album....this one is like a new Snake album"" Cheers Neil!

As I say on the vid, the Little Box has Snakebite on CD, so that's a bonus (but...I have the deluxe CD anyway) - sometimes the Curse pays off!

I love those songs but the newer versions are just too metal for me the lose the whole groove of the originals
