Raising Belted Galloway cattle, a heritage breed from Galloway Scotland, here on the homestead in Minnesota. I will also be using a Mavic Air 2 drone to cover the homestead and keep an eye on the cattle. Additionally, I will be showing various DIY (do it yourself) projects to keep the homestead operational.

This is perfect! I have a Lesco z-two 48 pretty much the same mower as well, thanks for the in depth video!
How many quarts of oil did you use please
Thanks for reaching out. Oil capacity (with filter) is 3.5 quarts.
Just found your channel I am considering adding either Belted galloway or red poll to my operation. I am sure your liking southern indiana winter better then Minnesota winter
I am loving the weather. The belties were calm before but seem even more laid back. I hear that the red poll are good dual purpose (milk and meet) cattle. I don't milk my belties. I could, just don't interest me. I did enough of that as a young lad. Hahaha. Thanks for reaching out!
What was that book you had and would this be the same as an m48 Tank instead of a m60 Tank
Thanks for reaching out. The Operator's and Service Manual I have covers 48-inch, 54-inch, 60 inch and 72-inch decks. Horse powers range from 19HP to 33HP. Engine manufactures range from Kawasaki, Honda, Kohler to Generac. Very similar operation and service procedures but parts can vary greatly. I would expect the blades and belts to be different. Hope this helps.
👍
Yea Buddy!
Great video. Hard to believe we used to do this work by hand!
Hahaha! Yes. I cleaned the fence row the first year by hand. Never again. Glad you liked the video.
Do you have the part number for the Replacement carb? Thanks
Sorry for the delay. For the generator model number with Genset Family BGM, the carburetor part number is: 146-0455 for Spec A 146-0528 for Spec B-C 146-0664 for Begin Spec D The Spec number is the last number of the model number. The one in the video is Spec F. Let me know if you need more info!
@@BeltedGallowayHomestead Thanks
Excellent presentation. I had to buy a deck from the mower junkyard and use parts from the original to put on the “new” one. After refurbishing the deck I was scratching my head until I came across your video. Thx
Thanks for reaching out! Glad to help.
Does the new generac generator use a lot of LP at full load. Some day i was looking at a 16kw generac generator. I Thought the 22kw 18kw uses more than the 16kw. I am looking at a 16kw generac generator. Also would have a Separate lp for it. Does it last for a week if you use it 24 hours . Then come full it up. How many days during a power Outage. Have you use at all. This year.
You are asking a lot here and I will do my best to answer. I would size the (whole house) generator to your electrical load. If you need a 22kw, a 16kw will not work for you. I would not use this generator for the primary power source, only backup. I am not sure if it has the duty cycle for primary use. My generator uses very little propane. It exercised every Sunday for 15 minutes and ran all power outages over the years. The propane tank still shows full. I would guess that the generator would run "full time" for weeks or even months before the propane tank would need refilled. I hope this helps!
Not to be a smart ass but its mowing not moving ... And many thanks for your opinion and the content ...
Thanks for pointing that out and thanks for watching!
Without my glasses on the cows look like people relaxing in the grass. The black parts are their tops and bottoms and the white parts are their midsections.
Thanks for reaching out. People also refer to them as oreos, in reference to the Oreo cookie. Thanks again!

Cows are intelligent, smart, beautiful animals ❤
Is this in West Virginia??
No. Southern Indiana!
Awe what a sweet family. Cows you gotta love them. ❤️ 😅
Just wanted to take a minute and thank you for the video. It was exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you very much!
Your "belted" Galloway is missing it' belt.
I would like your manual for the Onan...how much... Thank you
Sorry. I still have the RV and generator. Do you have any issues I can help you with?
So cute!
Nice seeing them together on the pasture!
Looking real good.
Looks beautiful!!! Great job. I hope to get started on fencing soon.
I hope you enjoy. Many more videos for the new homestead coming.

The "Lights" R Bright BUT.... Won't turn over.... 😳🤧
@@jamesbuck555 that is unfortunate. Please be aware that the safety switches will prevent starting. On my machine there are five safety switches in the electrical circuit which control the engine. They are (1) the blade clutch switch, (2) the parking brake switch, (3) the left and (4) the right steering lever switches and (5) the seat switch. They operate so that in order to start the engine, the blade clutch switch must be off, the parking brake must be engaged, and both steering levers must be opened-out to the side in the neutral position. Once the engine is started, the seat must be occupied and the parking brake must be released before either of the steering levers is folded up to the operating position or the engine’s electronic ignition will be grounded out and the engine will stop. Also, the seat must be occupied before the blade clutch switch can cause the blades to rotate. Keep me posted on the progress.
How do i get my hands on that manual?
Just wanted to see the beaver blade install !! DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR COWS !
I got lucky and purchased 2 of these zero turns for a really good deal and your videos have really came in clutch 👌
Awesome and thank you! Pass along any new video ideas.
I inherited my father in laws mower but it’s an m72 which has those (2) “A frame structures” (@4:00) just further apart with separate rods. I can’t get either to budge! I even tried to disconnect the rod that goes to the other end of them, but no luck.. Is it that much more difficult to do all the maintenance with it on the mower? It’s not looking like I have a choice! Lol
Thanks for reaching out. I hope to find a M72 one day. That extra width would be nice. You most likely have some shoulders worn into the rod that is catching and preventing them from pulling out. I think it would be possible to service the mower with the deck in place. It will be more difficult to reach some items but possible. Keep me updated on how it goes.
@@BeltedGallowayHomestead I got it out and got it all scrapped out/greased/sharpened and reassembled. Cut my whole yard in maybe a half hour?! Superb!! Then the blades stopped engaging.. it’s always something with this thing lol there’s a long list of parts I need to replace on it. All in due time..
Very well done video--thank you. how did you attach the screen to the monitor stand? So you still have to pay for the Roku service ($30) a month versus the $44 a month for the Hydro. Is that right? Best!
Thanks for reaching out! The screen bolted right up. No need for an adapter. Same bolt pattern. I do not have Roku paid service. I watch the free part of it. I also watch the free part of CZcams. No monthly fees.
@@BeltedGallowayHomestead I own the Oculus headset. One additional hack could be to use that while rowing on the Hydro. thx!
@@MrDcrules that is the next level. Thanks for the idea!
What size is the pto belt?
Great question. Looks to be a B X 91.2 inches. I think a B is 5/8 of an inch belt. Check out this video. The size is in here! Item 34 on the deck illustration. Is this what you are needing? czcams.com/video/xCLRnv09Ho8/video.htmlsi=u56Te2PBwV9ldFCL
Have you had to do anything with the hydrostatic pumps yet? My machine is 18 years old and I'm wondering if I need to start thinking about them. A friend of mine has two old machines that his landscaping business has not used in years and he offered to give them to me for parts.
Great question! Sweet deal. I have not had any issues. I do have a small leak on one of the drives that will need addressed in the future. These mowers a pretty bullet proof.
@@BeltedGallowayHomestead You should do a video about how to bypass every safety feature on these. Every spring I have to battle with some safety switch not allowing the mower to run. This year I finally figured out how to bypass every safety switch. Its sheer heaven.
Thank you! That was very helpful.
I've got a m60 tank. the pto belt comes off when I start mow. how do I stop this
Thanks for the question. My belt will jump off couple time per year and it is usually sticks or debris. Here are some things to check: Is it routed correctly? Double check. It is easy to get on the wrong side of the tension roller. I have hooked my belt over the hydro motor brackets. My belt would smoke, but it may jump off. Are all the spindles, pulleys and tensioners free turning? One of them could be sticking. I know that other people idle the engine down before activating the pto clutch. I don't do that but it would be easier on the equipment. Let me know what you find!
I have a S770 is the 909 backhoe fit in? I’m not sure what size backhoe will fit in to my S770 skid steer.
did you not need to use wheel spacers with the tracks? do they rub the machine at all?
Great question! No spacers needed. No rubbing anywhere. No rubbing on the 709 backhoe hooks. Thanks for reaching out.
Do you think you could take a measurement from your tire side wall to the side of the bobcat? I measured mine on my 853 and it was 2.5". I'm looking at a set of grouser tracks from a 863 to buy and he has spacers on it and his measured 4.5". For some reason he won't take the spacers off to go with the sale of the tracks and I just want to make sure they will fit my machine without.
@@mitch500 Sorry for the delay. I have been fencing. I have 5 inches between the side of the body and the side of the tire. My rims have the dish pointing out. Not sure if they can be flipped, but maybe look at that.
Oreo.

Thank you for the video. I have this exact mower and referenced your video today before removing my deck. I appreciate the details that you provided.
Thank you very much. Good hearing from another M60 Tank owner.
The teeth are correct on the bucket?
Thanks for this question. Take a look at this video. czcams.com/video/jzn3VTcB-lE/video.html
What is a good reference point to measure the temperature of the generator and the motor....Oil Tempature, head temperature? Please lmk....
Those are some very interesting questions. I will look at the manual and get back to you!
I reviewed the manual and there is no mention of temperature. Sorry. Possibly searching small engine temperature monitoring.
Honeywell is generac with Honeywell color and nameplate
You are correct! At 3:20 in the video, you can see the Generac name plate. Thanks for reaching out.
Great video! Does doing this void the warranty?
Great question. The warranty is one year. Unless you didn't purchase a subscription. Both should run out before you do this.
Hate to bother you, but do you know where the latch is to disenage the trans to put it in neutral??? Thanks in advance
Not a problem. Thanks for reaching out. You can find that in my other video "Cub Cadet commercial M60 Tank zero turn mower hydrostatic brake review". Please let me know if this is what you are asking about.
