Bioluminescence at Beaumaris, Anglesey

Got lucky and found some bioluminescence in the early hours of the summer morning while out helping lead a photography workshop through the night. Only a little to begin with but as high tide came just before it started to get light there was enough for us to have some fun with.

Noctilucent Cloud Timelapse - June 2nd/3rd 2016
zhlédnutí 424Před 8 lety
Timelapse footage of the noctilucent cloud display last night (June 2nd/3rd) from one of the two cameras I had running at the time. The first proper display of the short season for these clouds, (the previous night they were also visible, but only briefly and a bit of a let-down when they disappeared shortly after). Hopefully last night is a good sign for the next few weeks.

Wow❤
Stunning... unbelievable... so worth all the effort to get there. Well done.
Wow..! some absolutely stunning footage/ locations in that video - can't even start to think about the time & effort that must have gone into making that video. Top marks Kris..👌
Inspirational Work Kris :)
Please respect the language of the country you're filming. It's NOT Snowdonia, it's Eryri (air-urr-ee not too difficult). You would be quite taken aback if we started talking about Manceinion or Caer or Efrog, or what would the Spanish say if you made a video of the Snowy Mountains (Sierra Nevada). We have a language and we're proud of it. One of our bards wrote this, "We were given a language, although we did not seek it, for its spirit was in the earth, and its restless power on the mountains". Please respect us.
Wawie! Zawie! and at that time of year, Been there in Summer, fine, but you done it HARD! and it's FANTASTIC, never ever thought it would look so good, but then I am in comfortably in front of a TV and you were THERE in Winter? great stuff.
Amazing pics, I would really liked to see the full tide coming right up the Mawddach, all the way, you just got maybe 50%? but still great view of it.
Hi, we are working on a video for a project on bioluminescent bacteria. Do you think we could use a portion of your video attributing it to you?
Hi Kris i was just wonderkng which settings u use on your camera while recording a movie of seasparkle. Which lens do you prefer ?
Mainly any lens that allows you the lowest aperture, to let as much light in as possible, since its needs to be pretty much pitch-black for you to see any bioluminescence. I was using a Sony A7S, which has good low-light functionality to be able to push the ISO up to silly levels, I forget exactly how much now, but it would have probably been in the region of 80K-100K ISO, F2.8. I hope that helps...! (My lens btw was the Zeiss Batis 18mm F2.8)
@@KrisWilliamsphotos it was ! thank you so much for the quick reply. greetings from belgium!
Love the combination of the bioluminescent waves& noctilucent sky & the buoy sounding!!!
I've seen this on Anglesey, but in a much smaller version I was amazed with the tiny version I saw so you must have felt so lucky. Amazing video.
Nice water.
I'm. Going I live. Near here ❤️🙏
Went to see this last night it would only show if you kick the waves
Hello~ I am a student of industrial design. This semester my research is on bioluminescent bacteria, and i I found your video really interesting!so I would like to ask you if I can quote a segment from your video in my presentation video? If so, do I have the right to post my presentation on our school's website? Of course the video is non-profit.
No problem, go for it and good luck!
Could hoy please your Share brand and model. I couldnt take a video similar to yours
Sony A7s
@@KrisWilliamsphotos I learnt something new thanks for your video and reply
Hello Kris. Brilliant videos! We were unfortunate enough to not capture the waves this time around but would like to insert some video footage into our CZcams video. Would it be ok to use some of your clips if we credit you? Thanks Aimee
Sorry to hear you didn't have any luck yourselves...! I'm afraid I charge for commercial usage so I wont be able to help with this sorry.
@@KrisWilliamsphotos No problems Kris
I searched for this video because I've seen some 2021 photos of the bioluminescense at Penmon. I'm not surprised that you got there 3 years earlier! Great work Kris and a brilliant photograph.
What lens and Aperture?
Zeiss Batis 18mm @F2.8
Best place in the world.
is this always happening at this locations?
Can we use this video for one of our tracks please? We will credit you on the social media posts. Not for profit just to entertain. Thanks, City of Cardiff Brass Band.
Yes certainly, thanks for asking.
@@KrisWilliamsphotos many thanks it is beautiful
Is there any change you'd be okay with me projecting this behind a performance I'm doing of a song about bioluminescence?
Sure, no problem.

What a beautiful video and such gorgeous music to accompany it. I especially loved the night scene with the tents and the fantastic star-filled sky, made all the better by the low light pollution. Magical...

Marvellous. One of the best time-lapses of the lovely Snowdonia along with the Milky Way I've seen. May I ask what camera settings were used ?
You got Aurora that strong in north Wales? Wow.
Beautiful! What was your camera settings?
I really enjoy and love your video..

Great Kris! One question - what settings did you use on your camera, if you recall? There is some bioluminescence here in LA right now and I'm having a hard time capturing it well! Thanks so much
Wow :O
