  • The first noctilucent cloud (NLC) display of 2014, viewed from Anglesey in North Wales. Footage taken from 12:15am to 1:15am.
    Noctilucent clouds are sat in the mesosphere on the very edge of our atmosphere 50miles up, and are only visible at this time of year when the sun catches them once its dropped sufficiently below the horizon and tracks across ready to rise again in the NE. So you can get displays on the North horizon long after sunset and before sunrise.
