On Terschelling, an island in the North of Holland, I have once been swimming in such bioluminescent water. When I came out of the water I was bioluminescent myself !
I searched for this video because I've seen some 2021 photos of the bioluminescense at Penmon. I'm not surprised that you got there 3 years earlier! Great work Kris and a brilliant photograph.
Imagine landing you spcaeship here and thinking "this planet is gonna be dope as shit, glarg you seeing this, it may be one of the most beuatiful, things ive seen in my life". It then gets worse from there. Dissapointing, they should definatley end on this one.
Love it. We'd love to show this on North Wales TV on our regular segment showcasing great local videos from social media. Would you be happy to let us broadcast this with a credit to you?
Hello~ I am a student of industrial design. This semester my research is on bioluminescent bacteria, and i I found your video really interesting!so I would like to ask you if I can quote a segment from your video in my presentation video? If so, do I have the right to post my presentation on our school's website? Of course the video is non-profit.
Great Kris! One question - what settings did you use on your camera, if you recall? There is some bioluminescence here in LA right now and I'm having a hard time capturing it well! Thanks so much
Mainly any lens that allows you the lowest aperture, to let as much light in as possible, since its needs to be pretty much pitch-black for you to see any bioluminescence. I was using a Sony A7S, which has good low-light functionality to be able to push the ISO up to silly levels, I forget exactly how much now, but it would have probably been in the region of 80K-100K ISO, F2.8. I hope that helps...! (My lens btw was the Zeiss Batis 18mm F2.8)
There's a good FB group here where people will posting any sightings once it gets dark enough, just incase it turns up elsewhere nearby if you're travelling that far: facebook.com/groups/182734892412764/ - Good luck!
Thumbs up for not putting any disturbing backround musik and let us hear the natural beach sound! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely wonderful, nature really is magical.
Indeed every single word is magic there’s a reason for why we say „ how do you spell that“

Hi, we are working on a video for a project on bioluminescent bacteria. Do you think we could use a portion of your video attributing it to you?
Wow :O

where exactly is the place
Penmon Point, Anglesey, North Wales, UK
Is there any change you'd be okay with me projecting this behind a performance I'm doing of a song about bioluminescence?
Sure, no problem.
apparently at southerndown tonight! :D
Rob Lynch great :) looks like it's died off here I think now.
did you manage to see any? thinking of going down myself tonight
I dont think there was anything at Southerndown last night, Aberavon had the best sightings as far as I've heard, just near the Bar Gallios
Thanks Kris so much. Coming from London just for the night so may check out Aberavon then, thanks so much
