Transformers - Analysing Turns Ratio and p.d. Equation Data
Analysis of the data from the experiment to investigate the transformer turns ratio equation.
A statistical investigation of the linear correlation between the turns ratio and p.d. ratio. This is done with fairly simple data but obviously the method can be applied to more complex data to see how closely aligned the data sets are to a linear correlation.
There is a worksheet to go with this experiment so that you can attempt the data analysis yourself. And the spreadsheet that I use is available as a free download. Get them both via the website here: physicshq.wixsite.com/alevelphysicshq/resources-linked-to-videos
Experiments with waves, like this one, are good practice for mandatory practicals for many physics specifications, such as OCR physics A, AQA A-Level physics, Edexcel A-Level physics, CPAC, PAG, practical endorsement.
Relevant concepts: transformers, electromagentic induction, step up, step down, r, r squared, correlation.

I've * finally * shot and edited this analysis video! 🤦♂️ 🥳 Analysis of the data collected for the experiment to determine the acceleration of free fall (often referred to acceleration of gravity or g). There is a free worksheet to go with this experiment. I recommend that students try doing the analysis themselves - get as much practice as possible! Worksheet available here: www.tes.com/teach...
Transformers - Investigating the Turns Ratio Equation
zhlédnutí 3,6KPřed 2 lety
In this video I investigate the transformer turns ratio equation: V₁ / V₂ = N₁ / N₂ This video shows the collection of primary and secondary p.d. readings for a range of turns ratios using a pair of double coils. One coil is a pair of 60 turn coils; the other is a pair of 120 turn coils. So turns combinations such as N₁ = 60 and N₂ = 120 and N₁ = 120 and N₂ = 240 can be investigated. By connect...

Analysis of the experiment to investigate the relationship between light intensity and distance. This video shows the analysis of the experiment (including the geometry of the set up and data analysis) to determine the power of a torch via intensity measurements at measured distances and to investigate the relationship between the beam intensity and distance. The measurements were collected in ...
Do it yourself: Boyle's Law Data Collection
zhlédnutí 4,4KPřed 3 lety
This is a new video concept that I'm trying out for viewers - DIY physics. Let me know if this is a type of video that you want more of or if it is no use. This is a video showing a close up of the pressure gauge and volume scale in the Boyle's Law experiment. This enables students to collect the data directly from the scales without relying on someone else to interpret the scales for them. The...
Capacitor Discharge through a Resistor - Analysis of the Experiment

Transformers for Powerlines - Practical classroom demonstration
zhlédnutí 717Před 3 lety
Why do we step up electricity supplies only to step them back down again in National Grid systems? This video demonstrates the need for transformers to step up and step down electricity supplies to enable more efficient distribution of electricity over long distances through power lines. The demonstration simulates a power station providing electricity to a domestic user wanting to light a ligh...
Analyse log graphs in physics | A-Level Physics How To
zhlédnutí 4,5KPřed 3 lety
In physics practical work we frequently plot straight line graphs that we use to calculate an unknown quantity. But how is the graph used to determine the quantities of interest? In this video I demonstrate how to derive the log equation from an experiment's equation and compare that to y = mx c so that we can relate the graph's gradient and y-intercept to unknown quantities. I demonstrate the ...
MRI Scan Animation : How magnetic resonance imaging works
zhlédnutí 72KPřed 3 lety
This animation explains how a MRI scan is obtained. It covers how the magnetic resonance signal is produced and detected in the body using powerful magnets and radiofrequency pulses. The role of key components (magnets, gradient coils, and RF coil) are linked to the processes taking place in the body. The animation explains how the MRI signal is localised in image slices of the body using gradi...

This is the best explaination I ever got!!
Nice 😊 Just Couldn't leave without a like and a sub
Wowwwwww❤this was so helpful 🎉thanks alot
Thank you so much
The best soo far🔥
God bless you brother
Thanks! All the best with your studies
how did you write the stress and strain on the result table, im confused
I wrote extension values. Stress and strain are calculated values - they are calculated from extension, mass, area etc.
🤩
Or you can go modern and use a Micro-X carbon nanotube.
Well explaint
Thanks!! All the best
Will it work on PF capacitors
How we can determine the resistance of voltmeter by discharging of capacitor.please help
This video helped me a lot! Thank you very much!
You're welcome! Glad it helped.
This video was a great help! Thank you very much! 😍
Glad it was helpful! All the best with your studies.
I've been wondering how charging up a capacitor is faster than discharging it
It isnt always it depends on circuit resistance. If you charge with no resistance it’ll charge quickly. If you charge through a resistor it’ll take longer. Same for discharge.
is there a breadboard equivalent to that switch you've used there?
Am so grateful for this video, am watching this right now 8:49 am in Nigeria.
Thanks a lot, I was doing a constant % uncertainty giving me insane absolute uncertainties. Great vid, helped a lot.
thank u!
I agree with others’s comments: the music was pretty sick and suitable for this topic
how the fact that the wires get hot when the amperage is 3A affects the result and the experiment?
What to choose btw 0.06 and 0.1 plz tell
Thanks❤
Thanks a lot. Great help!
You're welcome! All the best
That's the best animation of X ray production that I have ever seen
Thanks so much!! All the best with your studies.
Hello, great video. One question, why isn't atmospheric pressure added to the pressures? I understand that it is a manometer and only indicates relative and not absolute pressure of the gas.
❤ Very nice make other videos
Veo comentarios de muchos años atrás y aún en este año (2024) me parece estupendo este vídeo ¡Excelente!. Quiero hacer la salvedad que no soy de comentar ningún vídeo.
