Well Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez. I leave the phone on because I can. I have the Insta mounted when I use it. Just cause I ride my ride....and I like it that way.

I've never had a phone mounted on a bike... 4 cameras [plus the helmet cam], sure, but never a phone. The handlebar camera is now just "a thing that's there" when I ride :D

Hi. I’ve had a 2010 model for about 4yrs here in Portugal. Love it to bits and have explored about 30,000 miles around the twisty country roads. It has a Vance and Hines Fuelpak but otherwise all original. Two things that vex me though. My situation is that it’s stored outside but under a UV cover. Due to financial limitation I couldn’t use it for 6months and found that the leather of the lids had shrunk enough to break the plastic body, snapped on both sides, not sure yet if the leather can be made supple enough to repair. Here replacements are likely over €2,000. Tires!!! The bike is relatively cheap to run. Still has original belt at 60,000 miles 50mpg (Fuelpak helps). Last time I went to the HD garage a set of Dunlop White Walls we’re over €1,200 (that’s about the same in US dollars) so I could only afford black walls, makes it look comparatively sad 😞 More than that though it was my hope that these ones would also last longer but no! Front tire bold right up to the edge (a lot of curves here) after 7,000 km (less than 5,000 miles). This is of course madness and yet I’m a relaxed rider always solo, never loaded, always check the pressure, have tried adjusting riding style but nothing makes them last longer. If anyone has a recommendation for tires that are longer lasting, I never ride in the rain. This is spoiling my enjoyment of a really fantastic bike. BTW handlebars. I keep thinking I’d like beach bars but I’m just so happy riding it as it is and I don’t have another bike to use while it’s in the garage, I’ll stick with original. Cheers 👍

Absolutely WORTH IT!! These are absolutely GREAT machines! I rode these TC’s since they were whipping up their first storms against the Evolution devotees. The Evolution was great too, but the TC 88 was just “there” and ready like the Evo could not quite do. I still ride mine too. It sits proudly next to its Softail Deluxe sister and his Mil 8 cousins in our Street Glide and our Road Glide. Nothing sounds like a TC either and if you hop them up to big bore and cams they leave no face without a grin. And if you feel the need to there is a great 6 speed Baker available for the earlier 5 speed transmissions. No fears on the older TC’s!

I never mounted my phone on the handle bars. Bluetooth is a wonderful thing. Never understood why anybody would want an expensive phone out on the bars. Harley has GPS its not the best GPS but it's there

I get it about the phone. It should be in my pocket. I worry it will fall out. I really should do better about leaving it off the handlebars…..

The GPS is nice because it will give you many selections of different roads to get to your point of origin. Sometimes you find roads you’ve never thought would get to where you’re going and they turn out beautiful.

I have never ridden with a phone mount or a phone in front of me - not even on my ride to Alaska or rides across country. My phone is typically in the Tour Pack where I check it when I stop for gas. I can play music or a podcast through a Cardo headset or through the Boom! stereo system. I have never found a reason to have the phone in front of me. I use a Zumo XT as a primary GPS because it allows me to find gas stations or restaurants while in motion. The Boom! locks out search functions while in motion. I appreciate you Vloggers willing to run a camera while you ride. I own a GoPro but use it sparingly to record unique landscapes or roads. I find GoPros and phones to be a distraction to riding.

Asking your wife if she wants your phone is thinking with reason which is what guys do but it won’t score points with the wife. Im thinking a clean look on a bike that has its on gps system is the way to go. I have two bikes, one with a built in gps system and one bike with nothing. For the bike with nothing I use a garmen motorcycle gps. How many times are you in a place with no cellphone signal? Most people are running some type of comm unit in their helmets so just connect your phone to that and leave the phone in your pocket.
