I have not even started watching this video. In my opinion. I prefer to ride alone. I can go where i want to. Do whatever speed i want to. Stay where ever i go. For as long as i want.
I typically ride alone. One of things I like about riding alone is that, when you get tired of the ride you can just go home.

Having a group of 4-5 friends with the same riding styles and abilities to ride with is the BEST. Large group rides in my opinion are dangerous, we mostly ride by ourselves (my wife rides with me) on weekends and enjoy it very much.

I’m in a RC. And I love riding with my people. But tbh, I really enjoy my time alone on my bike. It’s my place to think, clear my mind and re-center myself.

I ride by myself 99% of the time. My wife rides with me as a passenger (which is the best 😊 ) But as far as other riders goes, I don’t really have a riding buddy. It’s nice to ride by alone because you can do what you want when you want.

I prefer to ride alone. Nobody to worry about but me. But your reasons for riding in a group are definitely true! Every time I go out, is a time to practice something - there's always room for learning & improvement!

In my 34 years of riding, I have discovered a few things. I love riding by myself, with 1 to 4 good friends that ride at my level or better. I enjoy riding with them 2 to 3 times a year.

I rode 600 miles last weekend.
400 on Saturday with 3 other guys, 200 on Sunday all by myself.

From a monday to a friday I just did, Zion, then brice, then escalate, then devils mountain and the monument valley, up to durango over the million dollar highway, to Grand Junction to Ely and home, 1,846 miles, alone great fun great time, and I am almost 75, prefer riding alone 99% of the time

I don’t really like riding alone. I’d rather have the Wify with me but a couple other folks is good also. I rode to Sturgis from Michigan with a “group” of 4 total counting me. This is not what I would consider a group ride. No comms, no set plan just we want to get as far as we can go in the time we got. Had a blast.
I’ve also did a 3 day 2 night group ride with the American Legion. Maybe 200 riders, police escorts whole nine yards. Fun but not as much as a smaller group. They broke us out in maybe 4 or 5 groups.
End of the day I’d do both. I’ll ride whenever, wherever with whoever.

I prefer riding alone. I’ve been in larger groups at times and it reminds me of herding cats. A small group of close friends maybe two or three bikes plus mine is another the largest group ride that I would be interested in. Occasionally I will endure a large group ride for a charity event.

I ride a combination of alone and with a group. If you are riding in a group, make sure you know the group and their attitude and ability as it relates to riding. I avoid riding in any poker runs or charity rides as that can bring out the not so skilled riders and often it mixes alcohol with riding...bad combo.

I mostly ride alone, done some group rides for charity and I think they can take you out of your comfort zone and cause you to do things you normally would not, but always for good cause and such sight seeing 70 bikes head down the highway. I do enjoy riding alone.

Been watching your videos for quite a while. I typically ride solo, or with my wife as pillion, with no other riders. My long tours are typically one to three weeks off interstates. I still work. My riding schedule is determined by my work responsibilities which fluctuate. Trying to coordinate that with another rider would be difficult and frustrating. Sometimes I work a day or two remotely while on tour to extend my time away from work.
I am leaving Friday morning for a trip over the UP, down the middle of the lower peninsula of Michigan, and down to Indianapolis for both work and pleasure. Should be traversing the mitten from north to south on 7/13 likely on US131.
Have a great trip and it sounds like you were on it right now. Being in Michigan boy, I still have not ridden in the UP. Let me know how your trip goes.
@@BoDean52: I've driven across the UP twice. This was my first time riding. I stopped at Sault Saint Marie and crossed the Mackinac bridge three times just to get the full experience. Petoskey, Grayling, Cadillac, Holland were mitten stopping points. I've driven along the east side of Lake Michigan - didn't really have time to do that on this trip. Did a loop through central & western KY to see Lincoln sites and family graves. Stopped at the National Corvette Museum. Arrived home with a bit over 2900 miles.
I would never discourage anyone from riding across the UP, but it isn't a favorite of mine. I did it this time because I was tired of the southern routes to Indianapolis (my hometown). I live in Minneapolis and tend to ride west where there are fewer people and less traffic.
My favorite UP memory: I passed an older Harley rider wearing a half helmet sitting on the side of the road lighting up a cigarillo. I'm a devout non-smoker but have fond memories of relatives smoking aromatic pipe tobaccos. I got stuck behind a slow car which allowed the smoker to catch up. A few miles after I passed the slow car, the smoker passed me. As he did so, I smelled the sweet aroma of rich tobacco. I tucked in behind him just close enough to smell that sweet smell. And I ran over a snake in the UP. Never done that before.
I only ride alone or with someone. 😂 Seriously I enjoy any time I’m the bike. I think the most enjoyable times riding are when I am riding with my old Army buddies. Great rides during the day and trying to outlie each other about our Army days at night.

4 or more. try 1500+. Just did my 1st Run for the Wall. That is not a ride for the rider who bought his ride Monday and the Ride starts on Friday.. That ride will test every nerve and skill you have. Can’t wait for next year..

I usually ride alone or in a group of 5 or less. Normally I ride alone or with the wife riding with me on her trike, my only complaint is she tends to ride slower than i , so she regulates my speed.😏 But all in all I prefer small groups or alone.

I'm a solo rider. My experience with others is no one wants to lead. Everyone wants to decide destination, route, speed, stops. More peaceful solo.
It is so difficult to get a larger group on the same page. One of the reasons I do like riding with my four other buddies is we all don’t care we just switch it around and adapt. It’s not always that way.

I'm pretty much a lone rider. I'm in Florida right now and when I ride I decide when it time to stop for the night and where. I don't do many short rides and just prefer my time.
I usually ride alone, but I try to get a group going when I can. I prefer both styles, though I do not like super large groups.
riding solo this weekend to statesville nc. gonna do blueridge and tail of the dragon for the first time. rather ride with a group but solo is ok too. i’ll be doing a nice long ride from orlando.

just got back. beautiful landscapes and roads. tons of fun cause there’s nothing down here in florida. blue ride pkwy and back of the dragon were the main rides, but great local roads in between.
Riding alone is good but when I ride with a group I like to limit it to 6 bikes or less. I did big groups and it’s a headache

I have only did group rides off road. Besides riding with my wife at her speed. My bike stops better and I ride left lane. I ride down dirt roads and she don't.
Not a big fan of riding in large groups. If I know the people in the group, I’m good. If it’s a big group, and I don’t know how they ride, I’m much more alert/stressed……
