I remember a young medical student who was from Vietnam and learned to speak English in Tennessee before moving here to California. Somewhere in there was a very strong Southern accent mixed with a very strong Vietnamese accent in his English...I could rarely make out single word he said!

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this horrible, horrible illness. I keep hoping to hear of more breakthroughs regarding ALS. It is a cruel thief. I hope you have support around you. Wishing you moments of peace.

Hi, I don't mean to be rude or to belittle what you are going through. If you have to suffer so badly while your mind stays present, maybe, and I don't know, but maybe finding a mantra you can repeat in your mind may help you. Just repeating a mantra might help to have something helpful to focus on when you can't alleviate your suffering in other ways. I'm sorry if this reads like victim blaming. I will pray for you. I believe in God and prayer.

You are a wonderful human being. Prayers being sent. It's just a tiny idea. If you can record certain words you use often and as many as possible. Instead of exerting yourself. You can use a computer to say your word, but it still can be your voice for most of it. I know they were talking of trials, I hope if there are if your up to it to try to get in on them.
