Hi, itr been a year since you make this video series, just wanted to know how is the YOW copy standing? i'm about to buy one, but I'm concern it's made out of chinesium and will break after 2 days... so just wanted to know. Also why did you went for a shorter wheel base when drilling the holes? you place the meraki clone far from the nose, so I guess a wheel base smaller than 19.75". Out of curiocity how much is your height?
Hi there! Thanks for your comment. I have to agree with you about the quality of the clone parts. But from what I've seen asong as you aren't a hardcore skater, it should have no problems with everyday skating. Its a bit of a gamble, but try to look for sellers with high ratings and Number of sold items. I've actually upgraded to a proper yow system, and there is quite a difference in regard to the spring back. The yow is definitely stiffer which is a better for control and esp for longer sessions. For this build I did shorten the wheel base. It was around 21" and I brought it down to about 19" I think. Made a big difference. The reason to do this was so that the board wouldn't feel like I was turning a truck. I'm about 172cm and about 80kgs. Hope this helps.
@@mac_khalifah Thanks! I will give it a try, I have seen other videos of people talikng about the poor quality of the spring on the copy... but I'm not a hardcore skater, just want to do some land surfing practice... Thanks for the quick answer!
@@Nutririana what you can do. Is you get the clone. But you buy the original Yow S5 spring 5mm thickness. Its about US$10 bucks maybe. Quite a good low cost upgrade.
