  • Hey there, this video was meant to come out a few weeks ago, but i haven't had a chance to edit the video.
    This video follows the process changing the Oxelo Carve 540 trucks to the Yow Meraki Clone set up.
    its really feels like a totally different ride, to the original set up, very surfy and responsive and 'divey'. Been having a lot of fun with the board since i set it up this way, but to be honest, its a much better setup on flat ground and slight ramps.
    probably wouldn't take this out to a hard core skatepark the spring in this i super light and its really a balancing act.
    I've had question on where i bought this truck system and i found them on aliexpress. I can't give you the link that i bought it from, because it doesn't exist anymore. but if you are over on the aliexpress website you can have for it, search 'Yow Meraki' and some listings should come up. you should look for those listing with good ratings and good amount of sales.
    there will be another video coming out where test out the board with a waterborne rear adapter and you can see how i fare with that.
    thanks for reading this and also dropping by for the video!
    Peace

    Awesome vlog! Looks like you’re doing pencak silat on the board. 👍🏻

    I have the meraki, v4 and wood detail clone. Ab the meraki... I suggest u check the internals more often. I had one that had the bearings broke off inside of 3 wks off riding. The other one the spring was extremely squeaky. But some maintenance will fix them and make them more durable

      Oh and with a yow meraki I suggest u get the deck with more concave as it is easy to slide off due to the aggressive riding nature of the meraki truck.

      Yeah, I had a bearings issue, which I have recently fixed. I'll put it up in a future video. Good point about the concave deck. Might be a future purchase.

    Looks like an amazing upgrade, would you go back to the original truck ?

      I still kept the old trucks and used them to build a board for my wife. Tbh in some scenarios I would prefer the old trucks, like when I'm going around the pump track or general pumping. The yow is a totally different sensation, coz its so responsive. I enjoy going around urban areas and just fooling around on the yow, but I think if I was doing skate park stuff and cruising, I might prefer the oxelo trucks.

    where did you buy it ? I have the same board as you !

      Andre, i bought the truck set up on Aliexpress, but before i posted this video, i couldn't find the same listing that i had bought it from. So i was a little reluctant to put up another listing just incase the trucks weren't good. usually i will scope out the seller's ratings and have a look at the reviews first. hope it helps, its definitely a cool upgrade, change the grip tape and you are good to go!

    Aloha! How does the Meraki clone compare to the Meraki authentic in terms of performance? Thank you

    • @mac_khalifah
      @mac_khalifah  Před 2 lety +1

      Aloha! So far I don't have anything bad to say about it. There is a slight difference and I think that it could be because I compare it with a normal Yow complete. There is a difference, this might be due to and original yow being already set up a certain way, board type etc. Or it could be mental. The front truck is quite light on this. I did change out the spring in this to a 5mm original Yow spring and noticed that the spring that is comes with is a bit thinner 4mm. Having said that, I don't really feel that much of a difference. Usage wise, I would say that I'm not using it too much in skate parks, but mostly flat surfaces, so I can't really comment on more demanding situations. Hope it helps!
