Maverick F5K Electric Glider - Flight Video
In this video I will show you the Maverick F5K Electric Glider from FlightPoint in flight. F5K models are getting more and more popular due to their small size and excellent flight performance. Most of them are top notch full carbon designs that come at a pretty high price. The Maverick might not be able to fully compete with all of his carbon fiber brothers when it comes to performance, but it is an easy entry into F5K class competitions at a low price and is still providing very good performance. Even if you are not interested in competition flying, the Maverick is a good choice for hobby style thermal hunting.With its small size and low weight it is a perfect choice for your after work flights on the way back home or to be put in your backpack when hiking. With a 3 piece wing and detachable stabilizers it is really easy to transport. The Maverick comes as a kit with all the needed carbon rods and tubes, accessories like CNC machined control horns, screws, pull cord, crimping sleeves and a set of high quality laser cut balsa and plywood parts combined with a 1:1 size color printed plan. If you already have some experience with balsa builds you will certainly enjoy building the Maverick.

    • @bavarian_rc
      @bavarian_rc Před 13 dny

      Hi, the horizontal stabilizer dimensions (including elevator) are 495mm span and 142mm depth. The elevator has a depth of 56mm in the middle. Shape is a combination of 2 elliptical curves. One for the stabilizer and one for the elevator. The vertical stabilizer has a height of 215mm and a depth (including rudder) of 142mm. The rudder has a depth of 56mm and a height of 230mm. It protrudes 15mm at the bottom vs the vertical stabilizer. Again it is a combination of 2 elliptical curves (stabilizer and rudder). I hope this answers your question. If you need more then let me know.

    • @bavarian_rc
      @bavarian_rc Před 25 dny

      With a flying style as visible in the video I get around 5:30 min. When I just cruise around with half throttle I am able to get around 8-10 minutes out of it. But honestly, if I would just want to cruise, then I would choose a different (lighter) power setup. This would then allow even longer flights.

    Das geklebte Trägerpapier hat mir tatsächlich die Zornesröte ins Gesicht getrieben weil es einfach nicht abzubekommen war. Meine Frau hat es dann mit einem Föhn geschafft, erhitzen wirkt wahre Wunder. Das Papier lies sich dann rückstandsfrei und einfach entfernen. Die beigefügte Anleitung ist darüberhinaus bei weitem nicht als hilfreich zu bezeichnen. Die Damen und Herren Produktentwickler sollten sich die Arbeit sparen und lieber gleich dieses Video verlinken. Das ist nämlich im Gegensatz dazu ganz hervorragend

      Ja, das Trägerpapier war eine echte Herausforderung. Hat in der Realität deutlich länger gedauert als es im Video rüber kommt. Die Idee mit dem Föhn ist super, ist mir leider nicht eingefallen. Dickes Lob an Deine Frau! Ich habe nach meinem Bauvideo eine Rückmeldung an Robbe gegeben und einige Verbesserungsvorschläge bzgl. der Anleitung geschickt. Die wurden mittlerweile größtenteils übernommen. Die aktualisierte Anleitung (V2) ist auf der Robbe Website zum Download verfügbar. Du hattest vermutlich noch die alte Version in der Box. Man hat mir auch gesagt, dass das Problem mit dem Trägerpapier bekannt ist und an einer Alternative gearbeitet wird. Es freut mich sehr dass Dir mein Video gefallen hat und auch hilfreich war. Das ist der richtige Ansporn für mich, weitere Videos dieser Art zu machen.

      There were like two occasions where I went into this thing about "not flying too slow". Both were during landing approach with flaps set. There were changing wind conditions and in the middle of the approach the wind suddenly dropped and let me there just "standing" in the air, 3-4 meters above ground. The Maverick of course went into a stall, nosed over but due to its low weight I could recover it just at the same time as I touched ground. Lucky bee I was!

    a Single correctly sized guide could have been used for the elevator pushrods. it would be a GOOD idea to use linkage keepers, of some sort, at the elevator control horns. 5227 the (dumb) use of ball-end links has resulted in weird aileron linkages. also, the pushrod wire should be a little larger/stiffer. 5404 that is NOT the correct way to support the model during cg balancing; the support points should be a few inches from the fuselage. 5506 the effective span of the v-tail is SMALL.! in general, the use of full strip ailerons is not recommended, on anything that is not a cropduster. it was illogical to use CF in the wing and stabs of this model.

    0633 because CF is Heavy, wood or bamboo should be used where it will do the job. by wood i refer to, pine or spruce or clear-grained poplar. 1120 UN-clamped glue join. 1411 the wingtip has been supported in a less-than ideal way. 1600 dumb use of extra CF at the wing le. 3108 stoopid unnecessary use of CF AT the TAIL.! 3327 WRONG. a control horn should be perpendicular to the elevator, in both axes.! 3608 all those small bits in that sub-assembly make the tail HEAVIER.! doing that is the Opposite of smart. 3717 it should be understood that CF tube is a less-than ideal choice for a tail boom.! googletranslate

    Ich hab jetzt auch so einen gebaut. Aber irgendwas stimmt nicht. Schwerpunkt ist auch bei 60mm hinter der Nase des Flügels. Aber wenn ich Vollgas gebe zieht der so dermasen die Nase hoch und wird unkontrollierbar. Er will fast loopings machen! Das Höhenruder ist aber auf Geradeausflug eingeklebt. Hab schon den Motorsturz auf fast 0 Grad eingestellt. Immer das gleiche extreme Hochziehverhalten. Irgend einen Rat? MfG

    • @bavarian_rc
      @bavarian_rc Před 2 měsíci

      Hi, meiner hat ca. 4 Grad Motorsturz. Deine 0 Grad sind auf jeden Fall zu wenig. Diese Tendenz zum Hochziehen wird durch die große Einstellwinkeldifferenz (EWD) die der Flieger hat (ist typisch für Wurfgleiter) noch unterstützt. Ich hab ihn einigermaßen neutral hingekriegt, aber trotzdem immer mal wieder ganz plötzliche (wenn auch nicht starke) pitch-up oder pitch-down Effekte gehabt. War aber alles im Rahmen, außer man ist gerade auf Grasnarbenhöhe unterwegs. Vor glaube ich 3 Jahren gab‘s mal eine Version mit halbsymmetrischem Profil und weniger EWD. Den hab ich für meine Twin Turbo Lidl (vielleicht hast Du das Video schon gesehen) verwendet. Der fliegt sehr viel neutraler. Langer Rede kurzer Sinn, Motorsturz so lange vergrößern bis er sich angenehm fliegt.

    • @MRUD
      @MRUD Před 2 měsíci

      @@bavarian_rc Ich hatte sogar erst sehr viel mehr Motorsturz. Mit dem Motorzug bin ich sehr zufrieden, keine Tendenz zum rollen beim Gasgeben. Erst dachte ich, wegen dem großem Motorsturz "bläst" er das Profil stark an und vergrößert so den Auftrieb so stark. Ist übrigens ein Flieger von "Action" dem Discounter. Aber sieht genauso aus wie der LIDL Flieger. Naja, den experimentiere ich noch etwas rum. Danke für deine Antwort Fliegerische Grüße

    I really enjoy your channel, especially the foamy builds that you narrate. You have a very pleasing voice that is easy to listen to. But I have to say that I really do not like the time-lapse build videos. I would much prefer a video where you talk about what you are doing and why, even if it meant multiple videos for a single project. Just my opinion, for what it's worth.

    • @bavarian_rc
      @bavarian_rc Před 2 měsíci

      Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I went away from these fully narrated videos as the recording and editing of the voice-over was a huge effort, especially for me as a non-native speaker. Doing the time lapse videos like this one is a compromise between being entertaining and still giving my tips and tricks. Let’s see, maybe I‘ll come back to fully narrated videos in the future. Especially now that I know that my voice isn’t too bad.

      @klausochs7006 Hi, ich benutze einen SLS Quantum 3S 2200 mAh 40/80C mit einem 35A Regler. Selbst bei wenig Thermik komme ich damit immer noch locker auf 30 Minuten Flugzeit. Ich nutze aber den Motor immer nur um auf Höhe zu kommen und bin dann die meiste Zeit im Segelflug. Das Heckausleger Carbonrohr aus dem Baukasten ist recht empfindlich vor allem auf Torsion… Daher hab ich von Anfang an ein gewickeltes Rohr genommen. Bis jetzt hält das noch gut. Ich hab aber auch eine weniger anspruchsvolle Landewiese. Der Damm ist nicht ohne! Onboard videos sind immer cool, wird irgendwie nicht langweilig alles von oben zu sehen. Als nächstes mache ich mich jetzt ans Flugvideo vom Maverick, die Aufnahmen sind schon im Kasten, jetzt muss ich „nur noch schneiden“… ist aber halt viel Arbeit. Wünsche Dir weiterhin „Holm- und Rippenbruch“ mit dem Triple Neo Speed! Schöne Grüße Robert
