Great plane 12 years on and I'm still flying mine, I love the high speed whistle.
I have many other planes but the Blizzard is still way up in my hit list. I know what you mean with the whistle 👍🏻 only my Amplitude has a better whistle
This is exactly the kind of tunes I listen to while i fly sport gliders! Phenomenal work.
Thanks! Great that you liked it. I have seen the video pretty often during the editing and afterwards but the video and the music still generate emotions… feels like flying onboard.
MULTIPLEX have never seen a better promo video, that's for sure!
Nice choice of music as well!
PS: I'm sold and getting one right now!
Thanks a lot! Unfortunately I crashed my Blizzard three weeks ago... not so much left. What a pity, it was one of my favorites planes. I would build a new one but there are no more available on the market. If you find one then let me know where!
@@bavarian_rc I know, I realized this when I started looking for one, it's gone all over the world... But that's OK, there will be new ones...
It might be worth checking out the VOLANTEX Ranger 2000 or 2400, should be a nice FPV glider as well. The Phoenix version has the same wings as the two above, but it's a puller prop, so maybe a closer match to the Blizzard.
Having said that, Elapor is much much better though! Probably the best kind of foam I have come across in the RC world. It's more durable and stronger overall, so Multiplex would be my 1st choice either way!
It may be a good idea for Multiplex to make another run of these.
I really love this plane and when I crashed my first Blizzard I was quite frustrated as it is a discontinued product at Multiplex. Luckily I was able to find another kit and over time I tried to collect as many spare parts as I could find on eBay. Until Multiplex hopefully comes up with a successor I should be able to survive now 😜
beautiful glider great Video
Thanks! I love this plane, it‘s so much fun
Great video,
Inspires me to build my blizzard (another eBay find 8 months ago) just ordered the same motor that you are using
The build is definitively worth the effort. I still love flying the Blizzard and the motor setup just works great and gives it tons of power! In the meantime I added big black block stripes on the underside of the wing to improve the visibility. I would strongly recommend that. Had already a crash because I lost it out of sight. Well Ok I even had a second crash due to my own mistake of not properly securing the motor screws…. but that’s another story, check my Instagram account (bavarian.rc) to read 😃 What I learned from it: the Blizzard is quite easy to repair 😜 Enjoy the build and enjoy flying!
A great foam hotliner, what kind of speed is it capable of? Thanks!
Keeping in mind that GPS is not super accurate my top speed (pulling out of a dive) was around 240 km/h and in level flight with full throttle it can make around 160-170 km/h. I think it could get even faster in a dive but if you dive down vertically the ailerons start to flutter at a certain speed and you quickly need to pull out before it desintegrates. There are hotliners that are much more powerful and faster but for a foamy this is quite remarkable. I still like the Blizzard a lot and fly it quite often.
@@bavarian_rc That is very impressive and yes I know there are a lot of high end moldie type hotliners, but being foam and cheap you can not ask for much more. Thank you so much. Finding one for sale is another story! Lol!
It is hard to find Blizzards nowadays. I am glad I was able to collect some spare parts over the last 2 years, sometimes wings, sometimes a fuselage, sometimes stabilizers. Finally I have enough spare parts to be able to build a complete new one in case my Blizzard will "retire".
@@bavarian_rc Very nice and wise decisions to aquire parts when you can just in case you need them. Happy RC'ing!
Cooles Teil👍
Cooler Berg bestimmt super für Hangsegeln.
Ja, vor allem der Nord-West Hang ist perfekt zum Hangsegeln. An dem Tag war aber Flaute
the location of this flight could be in Germany near the town Nördlingen on a hill named Ipf.
Quite close. You are off by about 30 km. It is the Rollenberg near Harburg.
