    Just wanted to say thank you for these videos, I have learnt allot about covering from watching your videos and it has helped a ton with my own builds.

      Thank you so much for your nice feedback. I am always happy so see that my videos are helpful for the community. Covering is always a tricky thing and I plan to make a specific tutorial on covering somewhere in the future. But not sure when I will find time for that. Too many projects, too little time 😉

      Thanks a lot. I fear the flight video will need a bit more time. I haven‘t even maidened it… the weather is too cold and nasty. The camera mount is already done so there will be hopefully some nice onboard footage for the flight video.

    Don't know why I am subscribed here as he always shows beautiful planes which I have neither the dexterity nor the patience to build or the skills to keep in 1 piece for more than 5 seconds if I tried to fly them! 😜😉

    • @bavarian_rc
      @bavarian_rc  Před rokem +2

      Thanks buddy! There is no way I will ever be able to give these beer crates back 😂 But honestly I won‘t have to. I already have these for a couple of years. They were sorted out because of some defects and I was able to get them for free. They are helpful for many things like painting, cutting wood without having to worry if I cut the plastic with the jigsaw. Really handy these crates.
      But a great question! No one asked it before 😃

    Thank you, once again you have built a model that I am interested in and I benefit from your experience. Before I order this lit from FTM can you tell me if I really need the plan as well?, watching your build I am thinking that i do not.

    • @bavarian_rc
      @bavarian_rc  Před rokem

      Thanks a lot! If you order the kit you won‘t need the plan. All parts are made to fit without having to align them on the plan. The build instructions were fully enough. They are in German but with a little help of Google translate and my video I guess you won‘t have any difficulties. If you run into any questions during the build just drop me a line. Enjoy the build!

    Have you had the chance to fly the Venice yet?, I am interested in your thoughts about it`s behaviour in the air.

    • @bavarian_rc
      @bavarian_rc  Před rokem +1

      Hi Mel, yes I have maidened it already but have only 2 flights on it (actually 2 and a bit 😂), so my thoughts might be a bit preliminary. First of all I need to say it is more a motor plane than a glider. You can glide, but the performance is not really exhilarating. With the motor it just needs about half throttle to cruise around and with full throttle it picks up speed nicely. Climbing is only possible up to about a 70 degree angle, it clearly won‘t go vertical. It is very agile and rolls very nicely. Flight times with a mix of gliding, half throttle and some full throttle parts is around 8-9 minutes with my setup. When launching for the third flight I messed up the launch, it banked to the left and was losing height. Full throttle was not enough to pull it out of that situation and I ditched it in high grass with a bit of cart wheeling. As a result I broke the shaft of the motor. No damage to the airframe. Now it is waiting for the motor to be fixed. Hopefully soon!

      @@bavarian_rc I have completed the build of my Venice, but I am having a big problem with launching the model, I have set the CG to 41mm, needed to add some weight to the rear to achieve this, I set the aileron and elevator bottom surface to be flush with the underside of the wing. My model drops to the ground quickly after launch?. Do you use any reflex in the wing?, I am thinking that maybe I am not launching the Venice fast enough?.

    • @bavarian_rc
      @bavarian_rc  Před rokem +1

      My CG is at 43 to 44mm. I had to add 31g of weight to the rear to get it balanced. The control surfaces are flush with underside of the rear part of the wing which kind of gives it a S-bend airfoil. For my 2 successful launches I was adding a bit of up trim to be on the safe side. Since the repair of the motor following my messed up 3rd attempt I haven‘t flown it. It feels a bit like I had maybe the same issue you describe. Looking at the video footage it dropped a bit after launch with some left bank and I couldn’t pull it out of that situation. So my recommendation: move the CG a bit back and give a bit more up trim during launch. I hope I will have the chance of flying the Venice again in the next days to gain some more experience. I will come back to you soon, hopefully with some more useful tips. If you succeed in the mean time then let me know your settings

    I your video you make a drawing of the spinner by hand and then scan it into Fusion 360. I am interested on how you do this, would it be possible to ask if you could make a video on how to do this please?

    • @bavarian_rc
      @bavarian_rc  Před rokem

      Hi Mel, no problem. It is not so difficult once you know how to do it. I am also still a beginner with Fusion 360 and it sometimes takes me ages to find out how to make simple things. So I end up using TinkerCAD for some of the modeling which is way easier. It might take a bit until I can put up a video as I am currently in the middle of a project… or maybe I can squeeze it in… 😜

      @bavarian_rc  Před rokem +1

      Thanks! Unfortunately I am not in a flying club so it is hard to give you a concrete tip. What I would recommend is to google for RC clubs in and around Munich and then to get in touch with them. It is the easiest way to get into the hobby. They will support you in building and making your first flights and avoid any frustration that you could have during the first steps.

      @@bavarian_rc thank you for the reply bro, I will try this. Is there any license or legals required for RC aircraft same like drones in Bavaria?

    • @bavarian_rc
      @bavarian_rc  Před rokem

      Yes there are basically the same rules. You will need a „Kenntnisnachweis“ to be allowed to operate beyond certain weight (250g) and outside of official RC fields. The clubs are taking care of this and can help you getting the correct license.
