      I would say with zero wind, on grass, loaded to full gross weight, and hot/humid Kansas air, take off is about 1000’. In the winter with a 20 mph head wind and loaded light, I can get off the ground in less than 400’. Landing all depends on headwind and skill level.

    I'm interested in your B&C alternator. Which model is it? Is there a sample 337 for putting on a 140 available? I'd like to put the 30-amp version on my 140.

      I installed the B&C 200G alternator. This alternator is NOT STC'd for the airplane, so I installed it per a one-time field approval. If you have questions, you can contact me at HiebertAviation@gmail.com.

    Did you have to do any stitching with your fabric system?

    • @hiebertaviation
      @hiebertaviation Před rokem

      Stitching really depends on the aircraft/wing type and design. Some wing ribs have screws or clips to mechanically fasten the fabric to the ribs. Other ribs require a “compression” load which comes from stitching. The Cessna 140 had rib clips (probably the easiest and quickest).
