I work for a gardening company, one thing we always recommended when laying piping/cables under ground/soil, cover the top of whatever you are laying directly with a layer of 5mm pea shingle stones, eg say 5cm above the cable in this case, then cover the stones with the soil/grass etc. This way if someone down the road is digging in this area it will be obvious to them that there is something here and they should proceed with caution. Imo this is better long term as that half cut pipe will be made mincemeat of buy a digger bucket/ someone hand digging, whereas the stones will make them take notice

I always designed a darkroom’s power requirements as “think of all the powered devices you’ll ever need and then double it”. Never failed. Same applies to a workshop.

If you had measured diagonally both ways it would show square, checking long timbers with a tiny framing square isn't good enough, also its a lot easier to start putting concrete at the back of the space so you dont have to push heavy barrows over wet concrete

Nice job jack a must say i have 1 double socket in my workshop and it's extension cable everywhere i need get more put in. Best it is the junction boxs are there. 🙄 Have you consodered sticking a socket on the floor be a good one for the table saw and say shop vac? Certianly ideal having more than not enough. I personally wouldn't use spots in a workshop. They produce too harsh a light and will cast shadows. The workshop is looking great I bet you can't wait to get in there. 👍

No tracks are that square to simply butt up in my mind. I leave a small gap and use a good straight edge.

Joe - another cracking video - just seen your recent Evolution Track Guide as well - have you thought of doing a video to compare the options of some combinations (2 or 3) of table saw + circular saw + band saw + track saw - maybe add in a mitre saw there as well. We clearly don’t need them all but what would be the best combination for someone that wants quality products, quality cutting, flexibility and willing to trade off a bit of speed for flexiblity and price. Also as a slight variant on that question - but also of interest - which of these saws produces the least dust and/or is easier to reduce dust with a dust extractor - and then which dust extractor - that’s a whole new topic in itself……

Ive got two areas i need to create bases for and paying someone to do it is not an option as their quotes are insane. This video gives me hope that i can do this myself, and hopefully, it'll be sufficient and not look a mess 😂

Let's hope those who buy this track get a true straight track when connected together. The previous track, that I own, doesn't have square ends so when butted together it is way off straight. I need to use a 2mm spacer on one side of the track to get a straight track. Luckily I rarely need a long cut. Evolution customer services were useless, put me off buying anything off Evolution.

What thickness piece of wood will sit flush with the saw table? (I'm going to measure but thought it was worth asking...) Nice work btw!

Well well well I'm glad I seen this today. I have the Bosch plunge saw and got 2 800mm lengths of track 160 for 2.4 was gonna be 240 and mine only fits either it or festool or mafell. I'm from portugal and i got the skill for 300ish Euros, and has been now for 290ish. and mine came pretty much calibrated even with the plastic plate. but hey, different countries different prices... Evolution and dewalt here are incredible insane prices wise (400+ 500+ 600+ euros)
