LIGHTROOM to PHOTOSHOP - TIFF FILE COMPRESSION (UPDATE - FIXED IN LATEST UPDATE)
UPDATE:
This issue has been fixed by Adobe in their latest update. The TIFF file compression now works!! If you are using an older version of PS, you will still have this issue!
There is a little known or talked about issue within the Adobe Lightroom to Photoshop workflow that prevents TIFF files from properly being saved with ZIP compression. This causes files to be much larger than they need to be and it wastes valued storage! Do this and reclaim valued storage in the future!

Noise Free HIGH ISO images with a Lightroom & Photoshop workflow. Night sports can be hard. With ISO values over 10,000, noise reduction is a MUST to produce clean images with professional outcome. Retaining details in the detail areas can be tricky. This video explains a way around this issue.

This tutorial will show you how to extract complex objects out of the sky and place them into another background. Using a crane as a subject (Not the bird - the equipment) gives us a very complex object but it is no match for the powerful selection strength of the calculations command in Photoshop

An Introductory video showing how Luminosity selections are created in the channels panel inside Photoshop. These are called Masks all the time but they aren't really masks until they are used as a mask in the layers panel. Also, they can be used to "paint thru" selections that are active to constrain brush strokes only to those intended areas. Very powerful with limitless uses.

    • @BrianPex
      @BrianPex Před 3 lety

      Nhel Aremos No. speed lights /strobes shoot at a certain color temp. If you’re in a room with tungsten lighting and use flash, you’ll see the flash is much cooler. This is why they have flash gels to match colors. However, let’s say you’re shooting a fast shutter speed like 1/200th of a second with the flash / strobe firing. The color temp is about 5000-5600 for a strobe or flash. You can just set your camera for flash setting if the flash is the only light.

    Interesting, thank you. A little nugget in there for me was the LZW compression converting the file to 8-bit.

    • @BrianPex
      @BrianPex Před 4 lety

      S Fayers To be clear, it won’t convert the file to 8 bit rather it is for 8 bit tiff files. Using LZW with a 16 file will oddly enough make it larger.

    Wow, very impressive result!! The focus in this image was beautiful. What camera and lens was used? I need to start learning these Lightroom and Photoshop techiques. I'm a dad and volunteer on photo committee for our high school football and wrestling teams. We upload all photos for parents and athletes to enjoy (JPG). I shoot Canon 80D and Tamron SP F2.8 Di VC USD G2 (70-200mm) lens. Usually ~1000 photos shot per event so need fast way to fix noise when ISO gets up there. I shoot manual mode with 2.8, shutter 400-800, ISO on Auto. Thx, again!👍

    • @BrianPex
      @BrianPex Před 4 lety

      Dave Smith Hello. This was shot with a Nikon D750 and Nikon 70-200 VRii. Yup, that’s the key to be able to apply noise reduction across a whole bunch of photos. The problem is the noise reduction kills sharpness and detail. Always a trade off! I showed here a single image edit just showing what can be done but it would have to be a special image to spend that much time on a single image! Glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback!

      Have you done a video about AF menu items greyed out? I'm wondering about that, and none of the YT videos I've seen have answered that question. Also, I've googled it, and still no answers! Lots of snarky responses, like READ the manual (all 400 pages of it), and stupid answers, but no real help.
