Im from Scotland. Last year I lived inside my van for a year in Northern Ireland.To be honest, it really was unsustainable, but in some respects quite an enjoyable experience. I spent Christmas day in a carpark with a flat battery. I had issues with a faulty alternator. During the winter months the temperatures went below -7. My duvet cover turned to ice due to the combination of the high humidity levels of my breathing, and the subzero temperatures. The van was insulated, but not the best quality of insulation. The van is a extra long Citroen Belingo, the length of a camping bed. However, the height inside the van was very restricted. It was certainly an adventure. I was working in Northern Ireland, so I couldn't afford the accommodation. I had to park in some rough neighborhoods. I was ever conscious of safety issues because there were youths setting vehicles on fire for simply the fun if it. As a precautionary measure, I had to sleep in the front passenger side to enable me to make a quick escape if the worse was to happen. At least I survived to tell the tale.

My life was beautiful then out of nowhere in late 2016 my beautiful only child died tragically at 21. I had the house, the cars.. my life changed in a heartbeat ! The house is very quiet now and my life is empty. Just bought a sprinter van.. selling everything and wanting to just live and wander… new Aussie subscriber! Annalise 😊

1.Could try to sell as it is, use the jeep until you get your money back. Or 2.Put new engine in, sell at a trader. 3.Continue to try to fix the issue. I heard you say about it being the DPF, there are companies that professionally clean them, and any good mechanic would suggest cleaning it or/and replacing it, but not by revving the engine to regen. I know vivaros have an injector issue also. Sometimes the DPF gets so blocked up that it just needs replacing, i had a van and it was blocked, went into limp mode, ended up trying to regen it myself but it was making holes in the manifold due to excess heat.. Absolute nightmare! Hope you can come up with a solution, something always goes wrong at some point doesnt it!

If you recall my comment about getting an nv200 combo 5 or 7 seater due to it being an M1 class vehicle (like a normal car) instead of a van M2 class. Even though it’s still a van, it’s got a roof lining and carpet you can remove and insulate. There’s furniture made ready to fit on eBay for them. And the best part? You can’t get her back mate (Kangoo) but you can shagg her big cousin the Nissan 😉 eh shagger? 💪🤣 I’ll convince you believe that haha

Hey, were the vent you installed a year ago still works fine? Im getting a lot A LOT of condensation in my van due to me sleeping in there. I was wondering if you been sleeping in there the past year u had any problems with condensation and also any water leaks from rain?

First mistake buying Vauxhall you could have got anything else would of been 10x better research is key my friend I hope you get rid and get something anything else but them good luck 🤞

Sorry, being harsh here. But you still have your health and options. Recently, for the 2nd time, I've gone through a life changing event where I was scared of the future. Because I am currently waiting on a mri scan to tell me if I have cancer or not. Never be too hard on yourself mucka every day is a challenge. Money or no money van or no van. My daughter is going through a divorce at the moment and being kicked out of her home. It's all gone, Pete tong! But just keep saying today is a good day. I'm here, and I'm alive. All the very best to you. You will get back on that road, literally 😊 BTW get a German van my van has done 156000 miles no problem

One of the problems with having a vehicle you can't trust is that you get scared to go anywhere in it. And where's the freedom in that? Anything with mechanics can (and will) go wrong. I've had cars in the past that have let me down again and again and then I got nervous to drive them and you have to get rid of them, because if you dread every journey, there's no point. Cutting your losses is the best option. You could spend thousands and still not have a reliable vehicle. It's a horrible feeling. Sometimes everything goes wrong at once and you just have to plough on. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

This is what happened to my van. It ended up being something sitting on my wires under my seat. This after spending £2k on repairs that weren't needed! Have you seen @ZachPaulMovies - maybe a good thing to get in touch with him and make films together? These things are sent to try you. But, as I said in my recent video, these challenges make you bitter or better. Keep going kiddo!

Hi mate maybe take it to vauxhall instead of a backstreet garage. I'm a mechanic myself and theres only so much you can do/see with non dealer scanners and software. Might be expensive but you're paying for specific knowledge on your vehicle. Feel your pain vehicle problems are a pain in the ass. Good luck either way.

At this point, the best wise decision would be to sell the van. Its a endless money pit. Its a hard one, but I think the right one to make. ❤
