The Peak District Viking
United Kingdom
Registrace 6. 04. 2013
This channel is about all things Peak District, the history, scenery, wildlife and all shared through hiking in the area. I am a 55 year old slightly overweight biker and engineer who lives in the Dark Peak. I am keen on solo hiking, camping, motorcycles and anything to do with the outdoors. Primarily based in the Peak District National Park but also further afield.
In this channel I intend to upload videos of the walks I do, hiking documentaries and a link to the GPX download of the route.
I will also rant, ramble and philosophise about life in general. So I apologise in advance for any F bombs ( not really I am what I am).I also hope to focus on the history, natural history, flora and fauna as these seem to be lacking in a lot of the hiking videos today, which seem to focus on how far and how fast the walk is done plus endless gear reviews.
That's it for now I hope to start uploading videos very soon ( it will be a very big learner curve so be patient).

Beautiful area, Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching
It looks like nothing until you see the lidar image
Very true indeed, shows a hell of a lot then
Mines a pint!!
Mine was a pint in each 🤣🤣
@@thepeakdistrictviking I'd expect nothing less mate👍🤣
Hi Stu. Brilliant mate, loved that. You live in a beautiful part of the world. Those villages look stunning. All the best mate Dave 😀🥾⛰🏕️
Cheers Dave, we are lucky. Hope alls well your end
@@thepeakdistrictviking All good mate. Was out in the Forest of Bowland last night for a cracking mid week wild camp. 😃🏕️👍
Nice one. I need to get back out soon
Looks like a great tour
It was brilliant, will definitely do it again
I'd heard about this. It looks wonderful.
It's great mate. I did a 14 pub crawl on it at the weekend along the Hope Valley 🤣🤣🤣
@@thepeakdistrictviking Now that I do think is wonderful!!
What a great bus journey, I can't wait to come back and try it out 😊 thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! It's well worth it
😊More ideas for my next trip to the UK.
Definitely put it on your list!
I was following one of these buses this morning, between Owler Bar and the Wooden Pole. Reminds me of open top bus rides when I was a kid c.60 years ago!
It does have that feel to it. Thanks for watching
nice little trip...lots of great sights along the way...i see they still have those bloody lights at Bamford.
Yeah they'll be there for years I reckon. You certainly get a different perspective up on top deck.
Cracking sunrise! I'm yet to explore the Peak District but when the Wainwrights are done I'm heading that way. Great Video.
You should there's some great areas. Thanks for watching
What a brilliant bus trip 👍
It was a belter and great value for money as you can hop on and off all day
Now into wild camping again, we shall have to do one together sometime?
Sounds a good idea!!! I'll be in touch after August. Would be good to meet up as sounds like we're on a similar plane!!
Really a beautiful place
Thanks 😃
You have a new sub today, and this is a cracking tutorial for Outdoor active, full of information. You have now made my use of the Pro (not Pro+) version, which I look forward to using with a little more confidence. Castleton is a place I've ventured to a few time when I lived in Chesterfield, now North Devon. Thank you.
Glad you found it useful. It's a great app and I use it all the time. Thanks for subscribing. Any questions about outdoor active let me know.
I trust you have a pew with your name on it, Stu, and tithe at least 50% of your wage. 😇🫣🤥😉 I do love the peal in all seriousness.
The pews in there go back to the 1600s with family names on them
I love to hear church bells. Always wanted to live next to a church. Can't abide by these people who complain about them.
Totally agree mate. My Mrs works in the George and you get residents asking if they can be silenced 🤣🤣🤣 don't stay here if you can't stand it 🤣🤣🤣
@@thepeakdistrictviking Sell them bloody ear plugs!!😄
In my village in Spain the bells never peel! They just go CLANG CLANG CLANG!! Horrible
Can't beat the peal of English bells
Really great, as always thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching 😁
Lovely. I'm heading up there next week. Thinking of that spot myself for a bivi. Would you say you're unlikely to get moved on?
Very unlikely as off the path and not visible from below. I didn't see a soul
A walk I've been wanting to do for a while and I've been wondering why that path was 'closed'!
Glad it was helpful, hope you enjoyed it.
WOW - what a sight to wake up to ! Worth the wild camping discomfort I reckon.
Definitely was! Thanks for watching 😁
Quite beautiful
It was stunning
Thanks, very interesting
Cheers 🍻
Very cool
Cheers 🍻
Even on a night such as that Castleton still looks like a great place to live.
You can't beat a good storm. It looks great in all weather's!
Good vid pal
Cheers mate, thanks for watchjng
Bored me to death that pal
Oh well, you can always find another video
I did, I found your gibbot hill video very good 👍
No worries tbh the Outdoor active was a bit tedious when I look back it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it was early days lol. Cheers for the feedback though
Enjoyed that buddy, thanks for taking us along I never sleep well first night camping, by the forth night I’m sleeping as well as I do at home 😴
It was that plus being under manchester airport flight path 🤣🤣🤣🤣 cheers for watching
Awesome share
Cheers 🍻 thanks for watching
