  • The Grey Ditch a huge medieval earthwork defence in Bradwell in the Peak District. Akin to Offa's Dyke in Wales.
That's not all check the full film version out for some Roman History in the form of Batham Gate the old Roman road from Buxton to Brough and the fort of Navio and Cave Dale and the amazing Norman Peveril Castle.

A great summary of your longer vid Stu, if folk havent seen it they should pop over as it was brill. Can you imagine what an undertaking it was to build something like that? Massive investment!

Cheers, yes, it was a huge undertaking at that time. It stretched across the whole valley. If the rumours are true that it stretched all the way to Mam Tor then it was incredible!!! One viewer walked over it every day and never knew the history!!! It's amazing what's under our feet and around us.

@@thepeakdistrictviking it really is. The more I read about the Peaks, the more I love them but want to know more. You are so lucky living there.

@PhilWaud there's so much it could take a lifetime. I'm researching my next walk up Chinley Churn and so much history there so should be a good one!!

Hiya, funny I have just filmed a video and this was one of the places I passed and talked about, small world - I am also in the process of editing my journey on the Offas Dyke - you have focused on it more than I did - it is also a boundary marker for the white and dark peaks

Wow it is a small world indeed!!! I'll keep an eye out for both of those films as they sound right up.my Street. I've never been to Offa's Dyke but definitely on my list. Thanks for watching 😊
