Dodge Dakota gas removal to replace fuel pump no sucking

Using a drill pump I remove the gas out on this 2006 Dodge Dakota before I drop the gas tank. No siphoning, no sucking on the end of a hose. This would have worked through the filler neck but I had already removed it to replace it.

      Alba racing. Make sure you use new stretch bolts where prompted in the manual when rebuilding

    Did you ran into complications at the top of the strut nuts when installing them? Eg, after putting on the spacers, mine were facing the opposite of the bolt holes and couldn't fit them in because of it. Any ideas? Much appreciated dude 👊

    I put a 2 inch on mine with the diff drop kit and the cv axels a binding, idk if you should put diff drop on 2 inch lift

      Now I have remove the diff drop and cv are still binding with the 2 inch strut spacer.... idk what to do next, did you had any issue with your cv axel binding when you install the lift and if so please tell me how to fix.

      I didn’t have any binding. Did you check the axle to see if it needs replacing? Check your ball joints. Are the wheels tilted in bad camber?

      The cv axel and ball joint are good.... all I recognize is bad angle with the cv... idk 🤷‍♂️, could really do with some help...

    This guy doesn't know what he's talking about there's a screen filter connected to the tank and where the hose fill up goes..if you try to shove a hose in there the screen will block it and won't let the hose inside the tank..this guy is fs..

      This dude is hostile for no reason. He is right though. There is a screen on these tanks but may only be certain models. Appreciate the video though. I’m trying to replace the fuel pump. It went out after I had just filled it with gas 😂. My luck

      Same here. There is a mesh fence stopping the hose from reaching the fuel. Had to drop the tank with a full tank of gas because I couldn’t find a way around it.

    Going to be replacing pretty much my entire front end, my lower ball joints are shot but since I am going to down there replacing them anyway I figured I would just play it safe and replace everything. Although there is one thing I am missing, my Dakota does not have any CV Joints/CV Axles it looks like. The CV joint with that boot looking thing to the right of the strut my front end does not have. I find this weird or is that only for 4x4 trucks ? As my Dakota is a 4.7L RWD 2006

      A 2001 Dodge Dakota 4×4 has torsion bars that can be cranked on to lift the front end up.by about 2 inches. You will need blocks.or.add a leaf kit to raise the rear.

    way to much stuff taken off to remove that engine. you can easily pull it with just removing the belt box and RR shock/spring... pull it from the passenger side..

      @@joncastillo2714 the fuel line just unclips from the throttle body. You have to remove the clip with a flat head screw driver. Pull the throttle body off of the I take boots then you can remove the big plastic air intake.

    Just did my 05 dakota with 2" front and back. I did realize the increase in angle on the cv axles in advance. Because they were already pretty excessive stock. So i put a 2" diff drop kit in at the same time. Has my axles nice and pitched to diff decreasing the front driveshaft angles. The only difference in the ride is the way the wind hits the truck

    I just recently got a 07 dragon 700 and got it apart. It blew almost the same exact way yours did. Smaller hole in crank case but the intake area has a chunk missing right where the oil injector sits too. In the process of finding a new block and cylinder. I have pistons coming already.

    Just spent the last 2 hours watching all the videos. Motor in my 2016 blew a bearing in the bottom end. Was going to send it to a shop to get rebuilt as I have been strictly diesel motors and vintage snowmobile motors. The Dohc had me nervous. But after watching through all of these I am confident with myself to tackle the job. Thank you.       I had some wheel well rubbing after i put on the larger tire. I shaved the wheel well with a grinder in the areas that rubbed. If you mean a sound like gears grinding then you may need to have a professional look at it. If it’s bouncing maybe your shock absorbers need replacing

      I did a leak test, it passed. then I cleaned it. Checked the clearance between the cams and tappet buckets. Had to order a couple of the correctly shimmed buckets to bring to spec

    No need to remove tank. On my Dakota I just unbolted the front bolts holding the pickup bed on and losened the rear bolts (2) and lifted the bed up about 4 ft.then propped it up with a 2x4. The loosend rear bolts allowed the rear of the bed to twist as if on a hinge. Much easier and faster than removing the thank. Once the bed was up, the pump, sensors etc were all accessible. The bed was surprisingly light. weight.

      Was this on a crew cab? It looks like there wouldn't be room to remove the fuel pump assembly from my 2007 dakota crew cab by removing the bed because the fuel pump is tucked under the cab.

    You just need to add 1 liter of oil to the tank for 100 liters of oil, and there will be no problems. Это на будущее🤭😁

      These sleds have oil fuel mixing system. You have to use Polaris brand oil

      If your trying to reuse your old crank shaft then you need to mic to see if it’s within spec. Since I used a new crank shaft I just went by printed code on the shaft and casing

      I put a magnet in the oil pan when I drained the oil to see what I had going on. I suspected spun rod but this just verified I need to tear down and rebuild

      I didn’t think of putting them in on the bench. I think I was still waiting on the pistons. Yep, it was my project sled. Rags around the pistons seems like a good idea. Sound kinda sucks because I made this video with my I phone. I tried multiple times to create my video without sound problems but I phone sucks at making long videos with multiple clips stitched together. I didn’t want to do a whole new edit, So I was like, fuckn send it!!

    Jon Castillo I would love to hear back from you I have some questions regarding the problems I’ve been have on my Polaris rzr 1000 such as do I need a gasket for the crank case or could I use permetex gasket maker and also with the rod knock is the problem the crankshaft itself or the piston rods please get back with me I started the project yesterday and I would love to get some advice from you

      I use a high temp gasket maker for the casing halves. There is a specific path that you are supposed to follow with the gasket maker. See service manual. As for the rod knock, I recommend replacing the crankshaft and the piston rod that spun a bearing and putting the right size new bearings in while you are in there. Thoroughly clean all parts to get rid of all little pieces of metal that have run through the oil passages

      We didn’t have to drop the differential for this leveling kit on the dodge Dakota. Just remove the Knuckle and the strut. Just like replacing the strut but adding a spacer

    I got the exact same sled but the 09 700... Overheating caused my engine to break exactly like yours... I had a coolant leak going through the weep hole and I overheated... Look for *Blown RMK* on CZcams ! Great video bro ! :)

      I made my own alignment tool. You can do the same or order one online. I have the size holes and length in the video. Good luck 🤙🏼
