What a beautiful studio you have! You are my kind of potter to use all those molds. I haven't used them a lot but have a lot purchased. I will have to make some also. Your work is just so beautiful!
@triciac1019 thanks so much for watching. I'm very lucky to have invested a lot in the studio. Its a great creative space. 😍
Muchas gracias por el video. Muy clara. Me diste idea para mis esculturas! Genial . Te comienzo a seguir en CZcams!
Thanks so much for watching. I'm so pleased it's given you some ideas for your own pieces
I have, over doing this for many years, with porcelain poured mould, and porcelain clay into silicone mould and sticking them on with porcelain slip, and glazing and firing top temp…. Would love to send you a picture of my latest one, hopefully going into CL Artisan Mkt place…am starting back onto making your delightful Hydrangea mop head tops again!
Thanks so much for commenting Virginia. Enjoy making more hydrangea heads!
I am re inspired, and will start again tomorrow, I gave all mine to my daughter, so this time I will make some for us.!
@SuperVirginiaRose hi Virginia. Thanks for watching again. Sometimes it's good to revisit a project. These hydrangea heads are really beautiful 😍. Great to hear from you again
I’m from Yakima in the state of Washington, USA. I’m so delighted to have discovered your videos today! I just finished watching the video on making your own molds, then followed up with this video. As I’m new at working with clay, all my work has been done by hand making. Your instructions are so precise that I do believe I will be able to expand my skills. Thank you so much for the generosity of sharing your time and your vast knowledge. I look forward to watching many more of your videos.
@jankrug8076 thanks so much for watching. I'm so pleased my channel is helping you in your work. So good to hear. Many thanks for taking the time to comment. 😍
how do you compress the clay when using these types of molds to prevent cracking?
Hi and thanks for watching. If the clay is cracking them it might be too hard to start with. I would try using softer clay and push this into the mould - it shouldn't crack. Hope that helps.
Thank you !!! That's a lot usefull information!! Amazing !!!
Thanks so much for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment. Appreciated.
Thanks for sharing. I'm watching in Cape Town, South Africa.
@DirkJonker01 thanks so much for watching. Great to have you along 😀
Oh, and I love your hair!
Very clear explanation of the process! Thank you!
Thanks so much for tuning in. Glad you enjoyed it.
I've been reading your replies to find out if you are okay. I understand that it probably is a huge amount to work to keep these videos going, but I do miss you terribly. You are absolutely my favorite potter in the whole world! Be kind to yourself and those nasty little kiln cookies! I hope that you get back into making videos again. It's weird how you can become so attached to someone you've never met. Geoffrey
Dear Geoffrey. Thank you so much for your lovely message - very kind words and much appreciated. Life seems to have got in the way of filming stuff although I do hope to do some more filming soon. My parents are very elderly and my Dad has Alzheimer['s which has it's challenges! I really miss the CZcams community and my subscribers but something had to give. We're now on summer break so I am hoping to have some time to think about filming again - I certainly got loads to show you. I think I lost my clay mojo when my beloved dog, Cissy, passed away unexpectedly in January but it is slowly coming back in the form of sculpture so I think I will share that journey as a way of explaining why I've been absent. My best wishes to you and look out for more from me hopefully this summer. Kindest regards Sarah
So incredibly helpful!
Thanks so much Jess - glad it was so helpful. Sometimes its the little tips that make a difference!
your hair is gorgeous !

😊hi Sarah I hope you are doing well. I don’t see your videos posting anymore. Like I said I hope everything is fine with you and your family. Sending good vibes for you and your family. I’m from Canada, Vancouver I know is far away but if I can help any form, let me know🤗
Hi Marcia and thanks for the message. I've taken a rest from CZcams over the last few months. Life has just got too hectic with ageing parents and the support I have to give to them. My father has Alzheimer's which is proving to be very challenging and time consuming. I am hoping to return but just not at the moment. I appreciate the message. Kind regards Sarah
@@thepotterycorner Hi Sarah I know how difficult it is, my Mom just pass away on June 5, very sad, she had the same, it is difficult but at least they are not in pain, just confused. Don’t forget to take care of yourself, lots of hugs for you and your family🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
You are my favorite online teacher. Greetings from Las vegas!
Thanks so much Valerie - that is very kind. Thanks for watching
You dress so nice when you work. I would be a mess after working in clay and glaze 😂
Why can’t I find 2?
I love the Ceramica decals but the cost of postage to the UK is astronomical a $10 order would cost $60 postage!! Ids there a UK supplier?
@cariadwales1979 - I agree the postage is a big problem. Bluematchbox in reading does some underglaze decals but not the Skyline version. If you have clay buddies you could do an order and split the postage- that would work. You could put your own spin on the design here too. Thanks for watching. Hope you do the project 😊
Just came across this video as I was about to set up my Decal and lustre program. Very helpful thank you!

From Idaho, USA Like your simple teaching. Now getting some questions answered.😊
Thanks so much Keith. Glad it was helpful. Great to have you along from across the Pond.
Can you use kiln wash on the cookies ?
Hiya and thanks for watching. you could use kiln wash on the cookies but it's not really needed. I tend to use cookies smaller than the circumference of the pot so that if any glaze drips down it doesn't stick the cookie to the piece. Hope that helps.
Thank you from Australia 🙏🏼
Thanks for Being Here! Great to have you along.
Hola from Spain. Great videos with simple explanations 👍
Hi Denise thanks for watching. Glad you found it helpful.
Hola from Spain. Loving your videos
Hi Denise - great to have you along from Spain.
I'm intimidated by porcelain. Why won't white stoneware work?
Hi Jessica - Porcelain can be intimating but it really isn't too difficult to work with. See if you can get a sample pack of perhaps a 1kg pack to give it a try. You can, of course, use normal white stoneware but the hydrangea heads are not quite so fine if using this. Thanks for watching and hope you have a go at this lovely project.
Amazing video, especially for me as a beginner potter. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much for watching Mariska. Great to have you along - there's a large back catalogue of beginners tutorials on my channel if you fancy taking a look

Thank you so so much for this video. I love love monoprint. I have made beautiful pieces and they sell like hot cake 😂
Hi and thanks so much for watching. I love monoprinting too and what Iike best is the uniqueness of the pieces - no two will ever by the same. Glad you enjoy it too.
I am interested to know if this is possible, I too have an underglaze black pencil ZQ0069 from Amazon, it’s arrived and I have onto once fired ceramic piece brushed on Duncan Concept, I am hoping I can now draw with the pencil mentioned and apply Duncan EZ strokes to put in some colour, then fire to glaze fire. What do you think? Too much for an 89 yr old I hear you mutter 😉. ……ps the porcelain clay Hydrangea heads are all given away or bought, and one was glazed in Manchester City colours for a friend who like myself is an ex Wren, ..for her husbands grave,…( without the stalk). Virginia Rose.
Hi Virginia - great to hear from you again. Yes - I think this could work. It is a bit difficult to draw with the underglaze pencil over glaze but it might work better over underglaze. Definitely not too much for an 89 year old ! So pleased the hydrangeas were a hit. My Grandmother was a wren in the first World War. She hailed from Weymouth in Dorset.
So there is slip on the transfer?
Hi Linda and thanks for watching. On some versions I slip over the transfer and then pull the transfer and the slip off to reveal the slip colour underneath. Hope that helps.
will the oxides work with low fire glazes?
Hi Ray - yes, they should work in the same way as high fire. You may get more colour with lower firing ranges. thanks so much for watching and commenting. Hope you give it a try.
Zo leuk om te zien, dank je wel
Thanks so much for watching

Thanks for watching Janine. Glad it's helpful 😊
Thanks!
Thanks so much for your super thanks donation. It really means a lot 😊
Yes i also save my glaze the way you showed here by cleaning out the empty pots. The brushes i do different. I wash them in a glass with not to much water all together. That brush water i let untouched for about a week. The coloured residue of glaze has sank to the bottem. I then pour out as much "clear" water as possib. Then i put te glass in a warm spot so that the residue got completely dry. I scrape the dryed up residue out with a knife into my mystery chips pot. It comes out flaky and powdery. Thank you Sarah showing this. The way you talk about all kind of pottery stuff keeps me always hanging on your lips 😂 👋 bye Sheila
Thanks for sharing your process Sheila. Your way you get a mix of glaze without knowing what you're going to get - like Forrest Gump! Your lovely comments make all the work to produce these videos worthwhile. Thanks again Sarah
