How to Replace Your Snowmobile’s CVT Belt
As powersports enthusiasts who love to squeeze the throttle and explore, we expect a lot from our continuously variable transmission (CVT) belts. Most riders want to hit top speed all day long, cover tons of ground and still make it home at the end of the day, which is why choosing the right belt is so important. As the main transfer point of power from engine to drivetrain, the belt in a CVT is crucial for performance, and that’s why you should look the Gates G-Force RedLine for your next belt.
The first question to ask is when should I replace my belt? The answer to this could be obvious if your current belt breaks, but it’s also important to do regular inspections of your belt looking for fraying, chipping, cracking or any other visible signs of wear. It you spot any issues, it’s better to swap that belt out to ensure reliability, and that’s where the Gates G-Force RedLine comes in.
Gates uses a laser scanning process to make sure its replacement belts are exactly the same size and shape as your original belt. Thanks to its patented Ethylene Elastomer (EE), axial stiffness on the G-Force RedLine is also maximized to provide longevity and better performance than the OEM belt that came with your machine. In fact, Gates boasts that your acceleration and top speed will be improved simply be swapping to one of its G-Force RedLine belts.
In our case, we changed the belt on a 2015 Ski-Doo Grand Touring 1200, a process which will be similar on most newer Ski-doo models. Of course, the Gates G-Force RedLine belts aren’t only good for snowmobiles, so keep Gates in mind for your side-by-sides and ATVs as well.

The 2019 Ski-Doo Backcountry X-RS comes in one length only, 146. Three track choices are available, the 15-inch wide Cobra (standard), or the 15-inch wide Ice Cobra (optional) with 1.6-inch tall paddles, or the 16-inch wide PowderMax with 2.0-inch tall lugs (optional). We recommend the PowderMax for more bite in luscious powder. To us the Cobra and Ice Cobra is Renegade territory; though good t...

The new 840cc Patriot engine made the 2019 Polaris 850 SKS 146 even more fun than it's already fantastic little brother. Don't sleep on this mountain-leaning crossover. Polaris targets the smartly dressed Snow Check Select SKS 146 850 as the crossover snowmobile from its tool drawer for the rider who wants to whack some powder as much (or more) as they want to burn some ditch. The 2019 Polaris ...

I would love to find a sidewinder mtx out here in South Dakota but they're hard to find in my area.
I want to own another polaris 600cfi!
Got one awesome
If you were to buy used for under 2500 miles what would you expect to spend
Hi
Answer please
I miss my viper so much!
I know this was uploaded 8 years ago but where do you get the taller rear passenger head rest
Rear damper seems like complete bs
Chanche de oli
I still ride the 2018 sidewinder mtx 162, this one seems like it would be a nice little hillclimber
Hello ! Thanks for the video. Is the 2013 considered Gen3 or Gen2?
Who do they hire to do these? He sounds like a newbie. I wouldn't buy a sled based on what he says. He sounds like a chump
I just bought a M6000 and I think it's one of the coolest looking snowmobiles out there
Thanks to arctic cat, Yamaha has nice sleds. I’m a fan of the 2014 1100 turbo m9000. My dream sled pushes 240hp. It’s not the best sled for that year but I love it twin cylinder 4stroke Suzuki turbo. Always wanted one n finally got it this year. Every single brand sled this year is insane. So much power, light, n clean burning. I’m a diehard cat fan but I think ski-doo has the best 2023 sled
Love mine
Привет из Айхала, Якутия, Россия🤝🇷🇺🐻Вчера купили такой SWT 600 E-Tec👌✊👍
If only you could show a real rider on it for the demo videos. Not saying your bad but it’s easy to see your not a 4 stroke rider. That sleds manhandling you. Not trying to be rude just calling it out as I see it.
JUST WILD
🤘
Hello entertainement ? Helloooo ? Exacts specs ? Are you there ?
I was really excited to buy my first sled until I watched this video
we love this!
「あなたの動画はとても良いですし、メッセージがた
This is a nice looking sled and the ctec engine is awesome and reliable.
Reason for reviewer attitude is they are Polaris Supported.
I have a 2013 F1100 Turbo. From factory, the jackshaft flexes up to 180 thousandths of an inch and the bracket that holds the jackshaft bearing on the clutch side comes attached to the engine. Every time you let off the throttle, the belt takes the brunt of the force from over shifting and it heats up. Guys have spent thousands trying to fix belt blowing issues by installing new clutches, jackshafts, etc. If you want to be done blowing belts, especially if you have it tuned up (I have 240 horse tune, cold air intake, extended track, Bikeman Clutch kit), you'll have to replace a couple parts. The bracket that holds the jackshaft on the secondary side has to be replaced as well as the jackshaft. The new brace will stop the overheating on deceleration and the heavier jackshaft will keep your secondary from pulling out of parallel when you're accelerating. This should have been addressed right from factory and a couple engineers did in fact lose their jobs at Arctic Cat over this. They now work at Polaris. lol. Scott Taylor Engineering still makes these parts and he does them well. For the double approach fix, you're looking at just shy of $1000. That's a bit to spend but better than having a $5,000+ paperweight that you don't want to ride because it constantly blows $120+ belts.
You can choose for one of the above gifts
“ Small Nigling bumps” what does that mean? Is this racist…? Haha..
These sleds still holding up in 2022? Looking at buying one with 5kmi on the clock, very nice and clean but my 2000 xc 700 still rips mint but just isn't up for the task of deep snow riding so Im looking for a bigger sled.
Love my MXZ XRS 🤩
Does it has the same transmission that the bearcat 7000 xt has?
I owen this one and i love it
How many miles are on it and how does it ride I just got one myself hoping to get out soon and ride it
These white on orange sleds still amongst the best looking sleds to come out of Thief River Falls.
Good job , and I agree, 600 in the Mountains with right gearing is , simply put AWESOME!!!
From what ive been seeing people have been able to get 55 to 60 mph out of these things i am a 150 pound rider and can only get 45 out of it anyone know what could be wrong
I want another yamaha i couldnt kill my genesis 4 stroke 1049cc tripple viper
Yamaha has overheating issues
nice I saw one for sale used 1800 miles $7500
I just bought one 2000mi for 4500… thing rips like crazy
What is the hp for this sled? Thanks
OMG get this guy a cup of coffee! You can play at 1.5 speed and it sounds normal LMFAO!!!
Get this guy some caffeine !!!
Поезд.
Yamaha’s king idc what anyone says. Theirs a reason no skidoo or polaris can make it over 8000kms on oringal engine where Yamaha’s are pushing 20,000 no issues.
I wish I never bought my skidoo 850. What a slow heavy piece of crap. This sled feels damn near lighter then my skidoo. Under rated sled and I cannot wait to get my hands on a sidewinder in the future! people who talk sh*t are just jealous they can’t afford a real sled.
how does this guy have a job?! literally anyone I know could do a better job smh
0.38 deadly jump
хуйня
That color combo looks cooler then my viper
Okay the Olympic was a pos and looks absolutely nothing like current ski doos 😂
Love my zr 7000
