Sad to say that the Wensleydale Upper Restoration of the line from Garsdale to Hawes and possibly onto Askrigg has been blocked by the Yorkshire Dales National Park support for turning the trackbed into a Bridle Path. So again no benefit for tourists, locals and giving an option to get cars off the roads. Considering that regular direct trains from south of Manchester to Ribblehead are now running, it really does seem a waste

My father was the "Pilotman" ,in charge of Train movements during the removal of the line from Clapham , and I had several footplate trips at the time . Just wish I had a camera then ! Great documentary .

Interesting explore, the rock salt mine shafts were sunk to 900ft. A salt well BW 88 at Height O'th Hill Farm, Stalmine collasped and still expanding.

I’d love to have a look at the lines for the stamp see where they were made as a lot were made in Workington just down the road from me

Heck, is it really four yrs since I Posted here? To answer a couple of 'points' [pun intended], I had a dvd showing a special loco run down towards the Fleetwood end; but the only regular traffic that I sent to/from the Wyre Branch, were the various traffic to 'Burn Naze Sth' Signal box, for the ICI works. It was still going strong when I had to retire ill health in Dec-1988. This involved up to 10 movements per day, including the return run. It was all freight traffic, IE: Oil trains [11 100t tankers hauled by a class 40 or 47 loco. The daily Target 25 provided an interesting shunt at Poulton No 3 Box. Arriving with coal wagons for Blackpool Nth, Caustic Soda for 'Burn Naze', and any traffic from Salwick BNFL.. We shunted the whole train into the old Carriage siding, then the coal was taken to Blackpool. Then light engine back to re-join it's train, to wait until there was a space in main line traffic, to cross the junction and on to the ICI. Other Wyre Branch traffic included Parafine Wax,10 or 20 tankers and Chlorine, which had to be held outside the station, before given a clean run over the junction, and down the branch. The object in your hand at the old signal, would be the counter weight, connected to the signal arm and whichever signal box it applied to. There were several signa BOXES ORIGINALLY, between Poulton-le-Fylde and Fleetwood station. There were originally five boxes at Pouton,; being a Railway triangle. I worked the only remaining No 3 Box..

As a child I watched steam trains travelling to Glasson along the line from Williamsons linoleum factory. I could see it from my bedroom window.

This house is amazing been afew times I'd definitely say its haunted I'm sure I saw a black shadow at the top of the stairs, plus my camera was automatically taking photos on the stairs which was odd. Just watched and what a great video very little videos on this place and very little information about it I did see something about a guy threatening ambulance crew with a shotgun back in 2005 which I'm sure it was from this house. I'm hoping you go back again maybe at night.

Great video, Ive heard a lot of stories about this place i went last year it was an interesting explore. What was the device you were using at first was it a spirit box ? Some really good responses with it. I go exploring with my son he loves it.

I've heard about abandoned farm houses near Preston and my mates know where it is so this could potentially be this place if it's in the middle between Blackpool & Preston but if it's actually Blackpool and anyone knows there this is I'd love to know 😄

The viaduct belongs to heritage England,grade 2 listed? If they own it they should be obliged to maintain it!

What a marvellous piece of film making, easily of TV documentary standard. Garsdale is such a magic spot, truly the junction in the clouds. A set of programs like this would make wonderful viewing on Channel 5.

I was here with a few of my friends earlier today , and my friend moved this teddy that was sat up on the bar on the first floor , then we started hearing noises like banging ,whispering , tapping and so on . We went out and when I got home I saw a like a handprint on my neck .

I moved a teddy bear from a counter to a side and then we heard huge bangs and things kept whispering and banging inside the house

You should do a video on the Lancaster to Halton (and beyond) line. I'm sure it used to join another line at a village named wennington (heading towards ingleton from Lancaster). I'd love to hear some more about that line. Also in Halton, crossing the river lune there is a bridge that was built from a train bridge that came from near the green ayre station (another interesting piece of the local area's history).

Do you think the Preston docks area is a hot spot Gordon? I work at the morrisons there and over the years head my arse pinched and left one night with paperwork next to a bucket of water to arrive next morning it floating in the bucket. Only I had the keys. I call him/her Burt

15:29 One thing I can't get over about the UK is how many abandoned buildings you guy have... and nobody is living in them! In Canada you'd have those places jam-packed with homeless people and tents... what an amazing building, too bad there is a highway of cars right outside!

7:10 That's a good plan... I wish people would do more experiments like bringing magnetized iron flakes and put them in a glass box, see if the spirits can move them when in a sealed container? Seems like there isn't a channel yet that has any really cool or funny experiments to try with ghosts! Great channel, place looks terrifying!

Lovely country and a lovely relaxing video but you got the tunnel name wrong for it's not Moorcroft Tunnel but Mossdale Head Tunnel and it's 245 yards long and the last train ran through it on the 16th march 1959. Although as you rightly pointed out it is indeed used to store farm machinery but it hasn't been maintained since March 1959 and ground movement is now destroying it. If the Wensleydale Railway find the cost of repairs to the tunnel too prohibitive in their future extension to Garsdale then it maybe cheaper to open the tunnel out into a cutting as the crown of the tunnel is slowly being forced up due to ground pressures and there's very little ground above the tunnel. It makes me think it may have been built at the insistence of a landowner as often tunnels like Mossdale Head had to be built because a landowner didn't want the trains spoiling his view.

Wow an abandoned church and a massive one at that.Shame they havent found some other use for it, like locking up all the criminals that the police were out and about chasing on this night, probably frightening the spirits away too!! All the best!!

Very interesting to see how you can notice what abandoned buildings are and what lurks inside these derelict buildings. As always keep up good work.
