Hey, guys! I'm glad to be making videos about my truck again. As the title says, this is another cold start video. You're welcome! I'm glad the video was helpful for you. I hope everything goes well during the upgrade process! The pedal feel is FAR better with the new unit. As far as the mirrors, the ones I have in this video are the original ones, and they don't have power fold or extend, nor do they have turn signals. However, I recently bought a new pair from eBay that's based off of the later model mirrors, and they do have turn signals, but they have a separate small connector for them that I have to wire up manually. My truck is a 2002, and I'm not aware of power fold and/or power extend options for the mirrors. Thank you for watching and for commenting! I just watched this video this morning & have been watching all your videos these past couple of years as I myself have had my ‘02 GMC Duramax LB-7 for 20 years now , and have done the Full Banks 6-gun tuner with optional speed loader , a Hog industry 4” full stainless exhaust from down pipe back , an S&B intake , Banks Big Head waste gate, and an Air Dog 4-G 100 gph lift pump system . Since I had the luxury of driving a company service truck for close to 15 of the 20 years I’ve owned my GMC , it only has 138,000 miles or so on it ( I know , barely broken in 😆). And has had a pretty good life so far with only 2 water pumps , and unfortunately 2 sets of injectors now ( first set covered under warranty waaaay back shortly after I bought truck used from first owner ) and just about 2 years back now with 2nd set having to be covered out of my own pocket . The Airdog went on truck the 2nd week after shelling out the coin for 8 new injectors & 8 new glow plugs at same time ( figured truck was down so why not ??!!) and figured the Airdog should get me at least double the injector life now as long as I keep an eye on filter changes . Anyway long story short here I just wanted to say “ Thanks for all you post & share & if you do decide to market a kit like what you put together here for a decent price then post another video with information on how to obtain one . My rig currently is very clean on underside by breather tube and has little to no blow by at filler neck even though we towed a 30’ Toy Hauler out to deserts & up into Sierra Nevada mountains for many years from here in San Diego area . My LB-7 has been a great truck & I cannot imagine buying a new one at the ridiculously high prices the new ones are now being advertised at . My truck has consistently gotten 15-17 mpg with mixed driving and out on open freeway at 70 mph can get upwards of 22-23 mpg IF I can keep boost monitored at or below 5-8 psi . I also monitor EGT’s & boost with mechanical gauges as well as an Edge CTS-3 for safekeeping. Great trucks , and really enjoy seeing all you’ve done with yours . Stay safe , & please keep your informative and greatly appreciated videos Coming Jay . And as you like to say “ If it’s Smokin’, it’s Broken”!! 😎👍

Thank you, Stephen! I'm glad to hear your truck is healthy and doing well. I just recently put an S&S Diesel Motorsport SuperSport CP3 and WCFab Y-Bridge in my truck, and I've been in the process of tuning it to work with the Banks Power EconoMind. I'm not done with it yet, but the results are staggering so far! I'm hoping to release a video on it soon. As far as the catch can, I've done a little work on designing my own specifically for these trucks, but I have no idea when I'll be able to get it done and be able to produce a kit. However, if you're not having oil accumulation at the breather, I don't think you need a catch can. Thank you for watching and for commenting! As far as I know, this transmission is stock. The only thing I've done to it is have the fluid flushed and replaced with AmsOil's ATF. It makes WAY more power now that I've tuned it, and I still have no issues. So, if a previous owner had it built, there was no mention of it when I bought it.

Ok. I never said this was the fastest truck around; my goal is to show what an LB7 can do with bolt-ons and a good in-line tuner. The engine and transmission are stock otherwise. Regardless, I've done a TON of stuff to it since then, and it's MUCH quicker now. I've combined EFI Live with my in-line tuner, and it's awesome! I don't have any fuel upgrades, either; stock sized injectors and CP3. I'm hoping to put out a video soon where I go over the CP3 and Y-bridge I just installed. I'm almost done with the base engine and trans tunes in EFI Live, and then I'm gonna hook my in-line tuner back up. On the base tune, it'll do 0-60 in around 7.5 seconds, and I'm hoping for sub 7-seconds with the in-line tuner all the way up.

great video. what torque wrench do you use and recommend?

Thank you! I'm glad it was helpful. I have an ACDelco 3/8" drive digital torque wrench that goes down to 5 in-lbs. I got it on Amazon, so you should be able find it or something similar. Honestly, though, the long ball-Allen socket I used acted as a torque limiter, since the hex shaft would begin to twist at PPE's recommended torque. So, if you'd rather not buy a torque wrench for this, you could probably get away with tightening the bolts until the hex shaft begins to twist. Please let me know if you have additional questions about this oil pan or anything else I've done to my truck. Thank you for watching and for commenting! -Jay

Thanks for the information. I have the same setup with the PPE exhaust manifold and the Economind. I am installing the Economind and the Exhaust Gas temperature probe has different threads than the PPE manifold port. What did you do to make this work? I think the best option is to drill and tap the manifold, but I wonder what you did. Thanks.

You're welcome! I'm glad the video was useful for you. The technician at the dealer where I had these installed drilled and tapped the manifold to match the Banks sensor. I've had no issues with it. Please let me know if you have additional questions about my truck and what I've done to it. Thank you for watching and for commenting! -Jay

@@JayRussellDuramax Thanks for the reply. I ended up doing the same thing, drill and tap the existing hole in the manifold to the proper size. I wanted to put it on the driver’s side and avoid running the wire all the way across the firewall, but then I reasoned the computer is probably calibrated to account for the length of the wire and put it on the passenger side. It was quite a lot easier to do the passenger side as the manifolds were already installed. I used a magnet to fish out all of the metal shavings.

I’ve never seen diesel oil that clean even after a fresh change.

It's crazy, isn't it!? These bypass filters work great! I've done quite a bit to my truck since then - and I'm about to do even more this coming weekend - so the oil doesn't stay that clean anymore. It's still transparent, though; just darkened from soot. Thank you for watching and for commenting! Please let me know if you have any questions about what all I've done to my truck. -Jay

There is a proper puller to remove that pulley. You also use the same puller to reinstall that pulley

Thank you! I know that now. The kit I rented had the puller, but I didn't realize what it was for. I like having the new pulley, though.

Pls do not mix any oil additive in amsoil signature series it spoil the oil and drain intervel pls read the oil specifications mentioned on the bottle

The additive says it works with all oils, synthetic or conventional. The oil was in my truck for over a year and gave me no issues!
