I looked at many videos about the Action 4 and THIS is the one I needed! Thanks! Only thing I'm not clear on: Do I have to format the SD card before recording the first video (or photo)? Or format it afterward? Is it easy to find the formatting option on the settings screen? I had a cheap dash cam once and never got it to work, I think because I couldn't get the card formatted properly.

How come when I edit my 360 8K footage in premiere, it looks great, but when it's uploaded to CZcams, even selecting 4K res, it looks like shit and blurry on outside edges?

If scuba diving is your thing don’t buy the X4. The X4 has a dive case preset which has 8K video. Today I wanted to try my new dive case during a snorkel. I was surprised that it stopped because of ‘over heating’. Or so it notified. Very frustrating for sure. I suspect this overheating problem will be ironed out in the X5.

Great video. I had a question about the horizon lock, is it possible to turn off that function in the camera at the moment of record, to simulate an fpv drone? or is something of post?. Thanks

Thank you for a very informative post, one important take away for me was “don’t use it underwater but use it in water” i would otherwise have used it snorkelling and probably been disappointed.

GREAT vid! We just got one of these to film our off road adventures (stepping up from a GoPro Hero 360). One note, I def prefer the x3 bag's exterior (@05:11) vs the one that came with the x4 (neoprene exterior).

Can you please upload a video that shows how to send videos from gopro to laptops and then how to upload to CZcams?

I love my gopro but their subscription is a ripoff. It started with $24 and went to $53 without notification and they offer an upgrade for more money but no cancelation.

hi Jordan, thank you for the video, your videos are really good. I have a question for you. I am also a surfer and I have used my GoPro 5 few times during surfing session, but my GP5 got water ingress, I also notice that the on/off button got sticky and brittle and in the end came off. I bet that was the water path to inside the GP. The same thing happened to the most of the locking rubbers in GP supports. My GP5 was just 5 years old and the use wasn't sever. Do you have any recommendations on how to preserve and increase the rubbers parts lives in our GPs? I just got a new GP12 this week, super excited about it.

How is the focal range for objects closer to the x4? I'm a painter, and often need to film my painting while I'm working outside; ideally the camera would be able to focus from a foot or so away, like my current Gopo9 is able to. And thank you for posting this awesome review!!!! Super helpful.

Dude….. I got the Hero 12 and turned it on, played with it a few minutes and was like , this is it. Not the greatest of camera. Wow, I don’t get all the fuss about it. People must spend a lot of time in editing and things like that. Then I found this video and BAM!! Switching from easy to pro settings!!! Loved this video and I brought your book to help me step my game up filming. I’m not a professional. Just a dad that likes taking great shots with his kids. You have been a blessing to me with your helpful advice. Your book is a must have for somebody like me or professional videographers. I do have one request….. If you haven’t made one yet please make a video of you putting 10 toes on the nose for us old school surfers. Some shots with that beautiful sunset in the background would be sweet!! Anywho, much love to you and keep up the great work!!

What are the best settings for Osmo Action 4 in low light?

Can someone explain what to do ,my ace pro stops recording in 30 seconds or 1 min ,I have vlog limitless still the card seems to be a problem stops videos in 1 minute or under I cannot seem to film more minutes

Is there a front and back camera to record or just front camera

I am trying to make up my mind about which camera to buy. I never had a 360 camera before and all the review videos I watched make me want to get one. One question I have is, are these cameras gods for underwater videos? Even in this video Jordan said they aren’t so good underwater but dive cases are available. What does that mean? Does dive case somehow improve the clarity? What does a dive case even do? Isn’t the camera already waterproof without the dive case? Thank you already for your answers.

Hey Jordan! Big fan! I just brought my gopro12 as a beginner and I brought your book as well! Im getting it all set up and adding the presets you have available. I’m confused on one part. The presets that doesn’t mention Hypersmooth (for example Water, Air, Outdoor, Selfie) does that mean you want me to turn Hypersmooth off? I can’t tell what you want me to do.
