Why U.S States Have Nothing In Common
The United States is, in many ways, a patchwork of 50 distinctly different states (not to mention Washington DC and several territories). Meaning that regional similarities in the U.S. can be significant, while states like California and West Virginia couldn't be more different. However, even neighboring states with heavy similarities like Kansas and Missouri, have far more in contrast than in common.

Why The Rust Belt Isn't Real
zhlédnutí 10KPřed měsícem
The American Rust Belt was once famous for being the manufacturing hub that built the modern U.S. economy. Back when the Rust Belt was known as the Steel Belt, and the United States was revered for its ability to generate wealth and prosperity. That all changed in the 1960s when the endless benefits of the Rust Belt's geography, proximity, and economy (well, ended). Creating a nightmare scenari...
How Alaska Got So Overcrowded

Texas has always lagged behind.. California in population and economy, Alaska in Size, and Florida in tourism. Is The Sunbelt Failing?

The Sunbelt region has fueled American success and population growth since at least the late 1950s as U.S corporations abandoned the North East and Mid-West for better opportunities and lower costs, and millions of residents followed them. THE U.S IS A CORPORATE BUSINESS WITH NJ SPECIFICALLY BEING AN "INTAKE" STATE THAT HAS ALWAYS HOUSED & SHELTERED INCOMING REFUGEES MIGRANTS ASYLUM SEEKERS AND IMMIGRANTS (WHETHER LEGAL OR ILLEGAL) FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD FOR DECADES. ITS WHY NOW NJ HAS BEEN DECLARED A SANCTUARY STATE. SO OF COURSE ITS 1 OF THE MOST DIVERSIFIED STATES BUT WHATS NEVER MENTIONED IS THAT NJ IS ALSO 1 OF THE MOST SEGREGATED STATES IN THE U.S WITH EACH ETHNIC RACE TO THEIR OWN COMMUNITY. IN RECENT DECADES THERE WAS A LARGE EXODUS OF LONG-TIME NJ RESIDENTS THAT LEFT NJ & RELOCATED ELSE WHERE DUE TO A CONTINUOUS SKY HIGH CRIME RATE, HIGH COST OF LIVING & HIGH PROPERTY TAX. ITS 1 OF THE REASONS WHY THEY DECLARED NJ A SANCTUARY STATE IN ORDER TO BRING IN MILLIONS OF CENTRAL/SOUTH AMERICAN IMMIGRANTS TO HELP INCREASE THE POPULATION BACK UP.

The map at czcams.com/video/s_rCltoJyuE/video.html looks accurate, except the odd appendage over the mountains into the Albuquerque area (arid desert, basin and range but not great plains), and misses the Nebraska sand hills (great plains, not prairie to the east). But the rest including maps makes great points on how different factors produce what we see in the vast US, starting at the inequality map at 2:22.

If industry service workers cannot afford to live in Florida there will be no service industry. Wealthy people who move to Florida and pay cash for the overpriced homes will have to start cutting their own lawns, putting their own roofs on, cleaning their own homes, etc. Workers need affordable housing. Florida is not Hilton Head where you can bus people in from Georgia to work.

I grew up in Boynton Beach and lived in Florida till 2004. The problems I've always had with Florida was the economy. The tourism, retail and agricultural sectors are low paying and in the Palm Beaches, there is really no chance of being able to find good/high paying jobs unless you own your own business or are a doctor or lawyer. The fact that more companies are moving to the Miami area is a glimmer of hope for some better paying jobs that help make Florida's economy more self-reliant.
