As Utahan I can confirm all of this. In my small town most of us are comfortable with going to bed with out doors unlocked. And sometimes keeps keys in the cars. No for everyone moving to Utah, welcome but first understand this. Utah depending where you’re at we can be very agricultural. If you move to a city that is that way, keep it that way. A lot of Utah’s industry comes from farming as well as oilfield. Try not to ruin the farming culture here.

Although there are many amazing things about living in Utah, it is not all sunshine and rainbows. There is an ever growing high cost of living, property is terribly expensive, water concerns, no decent minimum wage, and a highly conservative gov that is heavily influenced by the Mormon church. Large companies are setting up in Utah due to lower taxes for businesses (such as relocating from CA). Traffic can be horrendous in certain areas and there is very limited public transportation for most populated areas. Its great in many ways, but lets be informative about all sides of living somewhere.

We moved to Utah to get out of the heat of S. California, as well as the crime, transients, homeless, and most of all the liberals. It's like going to a first world country. Clean, everyone is polite, people actually have children, and there are few foreigners. It's just better to live with folks that share your culture and history.
