Is America Running Out Of People

  • It's no secret that the United States isn't growing like it used to. America is still the world's largest economy of course, with more successful businesses and more billionaires than anywhere else on earth. However, America is changing and far past the population boom that made it so important on the world stage, especially in the decades following the 1950s. Frankly, at this point, America is facing real population problems; specifically the concern of underpopulation or running out of people. But is America really facing a modern-day population collapse? In this video, I break down declining population growth in the United States while also explaining if the US is facing a major population collapse.
I use demographic and economic data along with history and geography to provide honest answers to the most important questions about American cities, states, and structures. I also provide several references to respected sources and visual representations of critical data throughout my content, but you can also find additional resources here in my video description.

It is always surprising to me, how most average Americans are really good at understanding the problems of America and also really good at offering a variety of good solutions. Yet politicians seem to promise a lot before being elected and then they end up doing nothing, Republicans and Democrats are both guilty of this. I assume that it is either a huge flaw in the political system or big companies lobbying against certain changes. I don't have any other good explanation honestly

Poverty in America is still living better than the vast majority of humanity. Hot showers, AC, and internet access are almost universal to anyone who works. It’s really living in cities with insane housing prices that is hurting us. No one will have kids when they have everything I listed but only 300 sq ft to themselves.

I think the boom in the 50's was because people were used to having HUGE families. Like 7-8 kids. In the 80's it was usually 3-4. Now most people wait a lot longer and have 1-2 kids. Not to say there aren't people with 3-4 or even 7-8 kids, but it isn't the average person. Also, a lot of people are not getting married at all or they get married and don't have kids.

1950's had lack of birth control and jobs for women. Then, more so than now you were pushed out of the nest, usually expected to marry as a relief to the parents because likely there were more younger siblings. Maybe, in the best of times, a quarter(?) of families are the two parents, kids, happy family ideal. Just because it's pushed, doesn't make it so. Same problems happened back then, just more people and more access to information about others problems makes us think there's an increase of problems for the individual.

It's because of greed and technological advancements. In the old days you needed people to do literally everything. Now most things are covered by big businesses that already fill that segment or tech that has filled people's jobs so not everyone has a purpose anymore. Also America stopped building small homes after 1950. They still try to make starter homes by selling parts of buildings in big cities or condominiums but those have the issues of owning with other people or companies. The world is well developed now. I also can't think of anything I use in my daily life that needs approved on. With that said I recommend watching that video of American life on 1900s it really puts perspective on what I'm saying. Your own reply contained the answer to your question... "nature." We have already reached the theoretical tipping point in global warming, where only a 1-degree Celcius increase in temperature will set up an unstoppable avalanche of record heat and cold that will kill all crops, livestock, even the bees and insects we need to sustain life. The total meltoff of the earth's ice sheets will seal our demise, the final insult to the protective "earth's icebox" resulting in the Sixth Extinction Event in world history.
The only difference between this one and all the others is this: When mankind is no longer able to supply the electrical energy that continually cools the 450 nuclear reactors operating around the world, it will instantly start a wave of non-stop nuclear reactions due to the sudden loss of cooling units and subsequent plant meltdowns, guaranteeing that all life down to the smallest microbes will not survive the deadly release of lethal radiation, destroying the upper ozone layer and poisoning the atmosphere for at least 10 million years. I hope this sufficiently answers you question.

I think it would be an interesting topic to explore but in these articles, there are some holes. Some holes include how they describe hurricane season as a horrendous, horrible tragedy that plagues the entire state even though it's pretty normal. In general, the West side of the peninsula always gets the worse part of the hurricane while the East side is usually unharmed or has minimal damage. They also seem to forget or downplay how Flordia overall is growing which would contradict their narrative. It would be interesting to see if these articles are true or if they are just exaggerating a small movement.

Yeah, it doesn’t matter if the percentage of growth is going down, because the fact is, we’re still growing. Population is going up every 10 years, never going down. And In future graphs through 2100, it shows our continued increased throughout the whole century. So what is the problem?

Don't worry bro, I have done at least 300 hours of research on this topic. The US will be saved by its Amish and Haredi Jew populations which grow 3% and 4-5% every year respectively.

I do suspect the US population peak may come around 2043-2047. I'm fouty two and almost all the men and women in my age groupnwanted three children. Most of them ended up having two, just enough to replace botj parents.

The problem in USA is the growing depopulation in rural áreas, which are the plasma of the American landmass...so large metro áreas are becoming islands. Very dangerous. There are islands which look more like a part of México.

It's really not, the American birth rate first fell below replacement rate in 1971, two full years before Roe v. Wade was passed. And then, when it was overturned in 2022, birth rate still hasn't gone up

Another issue is how ugly America is. I was offered a job in the states a few months back, and I rejected it, because of how car-dependent the entire country is, and how everything is car-centric. Rather than being human-centric or walkable in any way, shape or form. I prefer to work and live in a place where I make $126k/year, then move there for a $200k/year job. It’s just not worth it. I also thought it was immoral, for me to take the job, as a non-American, even though there were plenty of Americans with the same credentials, abilities, skills, and knowledge. I didn’t want to be a corporate subsidy, just because an American would be paid 50-60k a year more than I. That is just wrong on so many levels.

Cut taxes significantly. I'm talking 50%. Reduce or even get rid of all social programs. Force the population to work again. Increase domestic production of all aspects of the economy. Get government out of health care. Finally ditch the US dollar and establish a gold backed currency. Once all that is done people will start families again, the economy will grow exponentially.
