Das schaut ja alles einfach aus , ich habe aber trotzdem eine Frage. Bei mir geht es nicht vom 2. in den 3.Gang , hier blockt es. Es geht vom 5 . in den 3 ., 2. aber nicht vom 2. in den dritten , was ist da noch falsch ??? I n dem Moment wenn das Seil hinten an der Nabe manuell gelockert wird geht es vom 2. in den 3. Gang , aber das ist ja nicht Sinn der Sache...

Hallo Franko, danke für das Video und die Bauteilnummern. Meine Teile sehen leider ein bisschen anders aus. Da ist am Ende jeweils eine runde Stelle die viel höher ist als bei den Teilen im Video. Bei mir fehlen auch die Nasen, die man "nacharbeiten" muss. Wie das gehen soll ist mir momentan noch schleierhaft. Eventuell ein "mehrschichtigerAufbau" mit Sekundenkleber aber keine Ahnung ob das hält. Das Zusammenbauen der vier Plastikteile geht mir in dem Video leider zu schnell. Es ist mMn nicht ausreichend gut in Worten ausformuliert.

Die Anleitung ist gut, nur tut sich bei mir nix. Ist wohl ein uralt Shimano Ritzelpaket. Bei mir sieht die Mitte eh anders aus. Vermutlich sind die gar nicht einzeln abdrehbar. Steht vorne aber auch nicht drauf, was für ein Typ das ist.

3:35 Can you take apart the cogs before taking the freewheel off the wheel? That way I could use force from the bike pedals instead of buying an extra chain whip. Update: Yes it works, put the bike chain on the 2nd largest cog and the chain whip on the 2nd smallest cog. Use pressure on the pedal to slightly unscrew the cogs, then take the chain whip off and put the bike chain on the smallest cog, remove the wheel and proceed as described

Wish I had watched this one first! Tried following a number of other tutorial videos that required using a whip chain wrench, but that was an exercise in futile frustration since the 'lock ring' is integral with the cassette assembly! If I had been able to get enough force on the chain whip against the 24 tooth tool, it would have broken one tool or the other, and/or ruined the whole assembly. Mine is a 'Made in France' Sachs Maillard assembly, essentially like this one, using the same tool (had to order from a seller in Bulgaria which took about a month to arrive in the USA). I did finally figure out this technique on my own after exhausting the other possible methods. Glad though to confirm that I did it right in the end. :/

Am Fahrrad funktioniert alles, außer dass der Schaltergriff nicht gut funktionierte, er war verklemmt. Und jetzt, Franco, konnte ich dank deines Videos den Schalter selbst zerlegen und so einbauen, wie es sein sollte.Aber ich konnte den Schalter nicht so einstellen, dass alle Gänge von 1 bis 5 funktionierten.Danke FRANCO für dieses Video!

darn, i was thinking of upgrading my freewheel but these have an old style french thread this is incompatible with newer freewheels :(

This was a great guide while servicing a 1986 Maillard Normandy freewheel from my Peugeot. For anyone looking to do this, the only part not shown here is actually using the two chain whips to unscrew the two outer cogs from the rest, you should be warned that they will be very tight. You can leave the freewheel on the hub to get better leverage with your two whips. I also got the Kemper freewheel tool from velo-classic and it worked like a charm.

Nun aber die wichtigste Frage! Sind alle Kassetten auch dür so alte Laufräder kompatibel? Natürlich unter Berücksichtigung der ensprechenden Anzahl der Ritzel! Wie weiß ich wie viele Ritzel auf diese Kassette gehören, wenn ich z.B. eine Kassette habe wo vom Verkäufer keine Kassette mehr druaf gewesen ist?

Hey Franko, thanks the effort you put into your videos ! I have this exact 5-gear shifter model on a current bike project, however the lever snapped off. Gears can still be changed by tugging the wires either side of the hub but I'd like to repair it so gears can be changed whilst riding. What do you recommend, is it possible to DIY fix by gluing an extension or find a spare lever part (if so do you know any cheap web shops that sell spare parts ?) Vielen dank !

Hallo, danke für das Video. Ich würde gerne mal ein Video sehen, in dem die ca 80 kugeln (Atom 77 sind es 77, hier fast 90) wieder einzeln eingelegt und dann der Freilauf geschlossen wird. In diesem Video, wird, wie bei einem anderen auch das Öffnen gezeigt, aber die Kugeln sind schon raus. Spannend wird es beim Einlegen auf Fett Kugel für Kugel und Aufsetzen des äußeren Ringes und dann des verschlussringes. Die 1/8 Zoll Kugeln sind echt winzig. Wie waren da deine Erfahrungen? Gerne auch mit allen Hindernissen. Es muss nich alles gleich klappen.

UK viewers, tool is made by Var, product ‘var RL-40500’. Not cheap at £18, but seems solid. Great tutorial, worked like a charm, thanks! Instead of using 2 chain whips I carefully screwed the freewheel to a block of wood in several places around the biggest cog, then held the wood steady in a vice. This meant I had both hands free and could put my body weight behind the handle of the chain whip as it’s difficult to release initially.

Das Lösen funktioniert auch mit einer Sechskantschraube mit 27er Schlüsselweite. Der Sechskant passt in eine 24er Teilung.
