It's not that bad. It's still better than Man of Steel. The movie has it's flaws and came along during a period where no one was interested in a super hero movie. That would all change 2 years later in 1989. If Superman 4 had been made after Batman it would if been better quality

I remember trying to think who was more annoying Ted from HIMYM or Ross from Friends. My conclusion was hands down Ted is way more annoying, because he's not nearly as Hilarious as David schwimmer who just kills it's in some of his scenes

I never have watched friends. What I think is interesting is I never realized it was a journey of 20 year Olds. For some reason I always felt they were 30. (And even now being 32, they still look.30) So I was watching another video and learned them turning 30 toward the end was such a big deal. Ironically I feel like they needed to cast people that they NORMALLY cast for high schoolers who lool young but are in their 20s lol

The effects are "bad" but they're not all bad. Every scene with Nuclear Man is so choc full of flame effects and little electric bolts, that some guy ...I don't know who, I don't wanna know, just went nuts with it, and it looks great.

I literally never watch season 3, I just stop at 2. I hate all the new characters, hate how they ruined zanes character development lol, + they tried to replace lewis with will??? hellaurrrrr? And I absolutely do not like bella, yeah, I'm a big season 3 hater How can they just make lewis leave?? the show is not the show without lewis😭😭😭

charlotte is literally so awful i cannot stand her she makes my blood boil so props to the writers and her actress bc damn was she convincing, i never liked her even in the beginning so is super manipulative and even emotionally abusive to lewis and she’s a huge stalker always knowing where they are and finding ways to stick her nose into everything and the worst part is she gets away with it and it always works out for her bc she is so determined to sabotage the girls and be in lewis’ life as his main lady

I have watched this show for many many summers since I was 10 years old and it’s amazing. It began to fall off season 3 but everything else is great. The outfits the story and the characters. They show ups and downs of each character and their development, the villains are great because I hate them. Lewis is the best he’s always there. There are many good conflicts and resolutions, each episode adds something to the story. You’re really able to feel the emotions of each of the characters whenever it’s a sad or happy moment, especially with the music, the music is so good. Overall great show it’s one of my favorites

And I might as well mention two cases where the film version far exceeds the source material: The Zone of Interest is an OK book but 2023’s film outdoes it on every front. And, ahem, Adaptation (2002) highlights how being unfaithful to the text can actually improve it.

I agree completely. 4 has problems, but those are largely due to direction and the budget cuts. The story is solid and in the same spirit as classic stories like Miracle Monday or Peace on Earth that explore the implications of what Superman represents. It just needed a few more script rewrites and to actually do something with the subplot at the Daily Planet.

A show doesn’t need to be good for one to love it, friends is just such a comfort show like I can watch a random episode and still feel like I’m pulled in to the cozy friendship and love they have with each other

I was a junior in high school when this movie was released. I think for me, at 16/17, I saw both the book and the movie as romantic, mainly because of the time period. 11 years later, I can see the story of The Great Gatsby is not a romance, its an anti romance- despite all of the adultry and daisy- and gatsby's affair and the romantic gestures present, its basically all anti romance.

I wonder what you thought about the Redford version? Is there a video? The Redford version was the one I saw after we had to read the book in school. The only problem I will have when I eventually see this version is the fact that putting Jay-Z music into a film about the Roaring 20s might give me a headache--no matter how visionary. This is not like using Elton John for Moulin Rouge. This is literally putting Jay-Z in a time when we should be listening to jazz. Disclosure: I'm still upset about his desecration of "It's a hard knock life" as I am the world's weirdest theater kid. That would be like inviting Eminem (whom I like, by the way) to do the soundtrack for Of Mice & Men. Not saying it's not possible I'm just saying it would be weird. I do like the vivid images I've seen so far of the Jazz Age but, they seem a little bit more like what the 21st century thinks the Jazz Age was rather than a critique of the Jazz Age culture.

When I started Friends I despised Phoebe. I thought she was annoying and overused. But boy I never realised how much I did like that character until the series ended. When you think about it, she was really the glue that held them all together. It was the episode when she gave birth to her triplets that made me love her. She started off as a cooky naive woman who didn't really fit in to being a loving lady who just tried to make hers and everyone's life around her happy.

It was never my cup of tea for many reasons. But it was a hit, still plays well outside its native culture and language, and it’s picked up a following with people born after its prime time run. If that many different viewers like it, there must be reasons for it. I posit one reason people like it is it captured the vibe of the time. Not so much the 90s that actually happened, but the decade as people like to imagine it.

Superman three is a Richard prior comedy. I felt sorry for Christopher Reed having to play second fiddle when he is the Star. Never liked the film. Love Chris Reeves, love superman. Superman is not comedy. Massive error.

Did they ever say Bella was irish? They said she traveled alot with her family and yes got her powers in Ireland (and yes if you let child that young to explore on her own that raises questions but stil.. ) but was it ever mentioned that she was actually from Ireland? I like season 3 more than most (and yes I like Bella more than Emma). Both Bellas and Wills biggest flaw is that they came along so late so they didn't get so much character development. Don't of course know at what point they knew that Emma was leaving, but feel like they could have introduced them earlier...
