Just watched this one and your Friends video. Amazing work man. The way you shine a different light on topics is seriously unique.

Love it! This along with the Dark Knight trilogy are my two favourite trilogies of all time. Great video, just subscribed.

Almost 40 years later, this is still a perfect movie

So, when you talk about Marty “being a failure” in the sequel, you say it’s because he didn’t learn what he taught his father in the original to have confidence in himself and his art-form, but I believe you’re forgetting a HUGE plot point - Marty got into an automobile accident and mangled his hand to the point where he lost the ability to play guitar with the skill set he had. He’s not a failure because he didn’t believe in himself, but because he physicality could no longer be a guitarist which is showcased when he plays the guitar in the future in 2015 and can’t even play.

Well said. Another key here is that Marty also learns to not care what a bully cares about him (calls him “chicken”) altering his future for the better just like George learned to bet on himself and write his science fiction books, altering his future for the better.

Regarding your disliking of the opening scenes from the second film, the first movie was only ever intended to be one movie. The ambiguous ending was just to indicate that Marty and Doc Brown were off to further adventures. When the movie originally showed in theaters, it didn't even end with "to be continued..." That was added to the physical release since the next two films had been greenlit. So your issues with the beginning of Part II are not because the writers wrote themselves into a corner with the cliffhanger, it's because part I didn't actually end on a cliffhanger. The first movie was so successful that the execs at the movie studio practically begged Zemeckis to make another. Zemeckis agreed, but on the condition they make two more films and then bring it to a close. So the last two films were filmed back to back.

Doc didn't 'build a flying train time machine out of 1800s technology'. He clearly built a non-flying train time machine out of 1800s technology, and then took it to the future to get a hover conversion, just like the DeLorean. Other than that mistake, great video. 4.5/5.

Yes. When Marty asks Doc if he's going to the future, he replies that he's already been there and only then we discover that the train can fly

Nice videos, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the lotr trilogy. Just subbed. Keep at it with these movies/shows essays, it shows that you know a thing or two about them.

I like the featuring of the BTTF videogames videos and I like those better than the films because you get more of a balanced focus/insight on all of the characters and not just the heroes and the bullies; even the BTTF tv series could've done better than the films. But; Hey! I like the whole franchise just the same!😉

Temple of Doom is also my favorite but I think BTTF1 is much better than the sequels.
