    I just installed mine yesterday 20 2019 ranger with65K on clock, what a massive difference, i have already fitted the bypass valve few years back, and my trans ran from 94-97 degrees, yesterday the ambient temp was 19 degrees, and now the trans oil only got to 55 degrees after driving for 30 minutes, i suspect in summer it would probable go 20-25 degrees hotter which would put it at 75-80 degrees is my guess, never the less very happy with the result, :)

    great video. Will assume the bypass valve does exactly that. Did not hear if there is any thermal activation or if system is totally free flow. You could tell your video editor the music is totally unecessary (and irritatingly loud). Anyone who's going to sit through a 23 min vido on how to RnR a tranny cooler isn't looking to listen to high low music IMO. Thanks for the video

    Wish you guys were here in the U.S I'd be on the way to see guys. You obviously know what you are talking about. I have a 17 Colorado with a 2.8 liter diesel in it. Love the truck minus the transmission. I've had the same issues when towing with it. The shudder and at one point a millisecond lock up in tow haul mode going up hill. As soon as the transmission gets warm from towing it all starts. Shifts really smooth if your not towing and just normal driving but when you start working the transmission it all comes back. Took it to the dealer and had the thing flushed out and a TCM update but it all came back. Initially it started just driving it around while not towing anything. Thought it was all cured until I started towing with it after that. Like I said it all came back and worse. Anyway great video. Wish I knew of someone here in the states I could take it to with your knowledge.

    You say that you’d be mad not to change the starter motor while you’re there and I agree but it seems strange that you would say, you’re going to keep the one that you’re pulling out, just in case you need it. That statement is counter intuitive, surely because if you did that job again (if you had starter motor problems) surely you wouldn’t be putting your old one back in?

I am having your full kit fitted to my PX2 Ranger in two weeks next door to you guys as I left the booking way too late and you are all booked out anyway I done an 8 month trip of Tassie last year April to December towing our caravan all over the isle and the Ranger was working very very hard at times especially in the West I often wondered weather the transmission would hold up which it did without me knowing if it too indeed struggled. we are heading off to the Cape early August towing the caravan leaving it with friends in Cairns then off to do the Telegraph track and on return to Melbourne heading West to Darwin then down the middle and back home I would say this is the time the cooler will truly come very handy. You totally rebuilt my son Frank Jr's PX2 Silver Ranger not that long ago.Any extended away trips in the pipeline?

    Interesting: I have a relative with one in Trinidad and the company stated it was a torque converter issue. Changed and over time, it did the same. He had it to a specialist who changes dome valve body components, among other things I can't recall. But what I was wondering is, many of the US users in forums stated the issue came down to the dexron6 ATF the company uses and by using a specific one (Mobil 1 HLVP) it stopped the shudder. I can't explain it.

    I have a Ranger. In fact I have two. Both are 2021 Tremors with the 1080R tranny. One of the is as smooth as anything. The other has actually downshifted twice from 10th gear to 6th and has a problem with acceleration and harsh shifting. Shutters and clunky downshifting. I’ve had it in several times and they say there is nothing wrong and proceed to reset the TSB. I’m being completely ignored. Any advice as to what can be done? It’s obvious it shifts poorly but since it has not thrown a code, they cannot fault anything wrong. What can be done? It’s still under warranty with 25k. Great video and thank you for taking the time to share it with us. Cheers

    • @WholesaleAutomatics
      @WholesaleAutomatics Před měsícem

      Can I ask if the two vehicles have different drivers as this will give you two different shift feels if one is more aggressive in throttle than the other. Other than that there are so many inputs that could cause this problem. Have you asked them to escalate the problem to Ford tech support. This often helps with near new vehicles.

    When the valve in the front pump fails can this be picked up when they look at pressures with the diagnostic tool?

    • @WholesaleAutomatics
      @WholesaleAutomatics Před měsícem

      It is possible but as the transmission normally needs to come out in every case so we just upgrade the valve set and torque convertor regardless.

    • @darrenwest2465
      @darrenwest2465 Před měsícem

      @@WholesaleAutomatics I would have thought the faulty valve would be indicated by a reduced or increased pressure, I thought the valve body distributes the fluid to the correct location to engage the correct clutch packs etc. If the problem is reduced pressure is there a pressure switch within the TCM that would provide this information to the diagnostic reader.

    • @WholesaleAutomatics
      @WholesaleAutomatics Před měsícem

      Unfortunately the TCM doesn't register pressure, only slip if it is in excess. The trouble is that the lock-up is supposed to slip from time to time, a lot in fact so the TCU has a tough time picking right from wrong. If the valve is ever the cause the TCU runs out of pressure rise and even if maxed out, still not enough to apply fully.

    I just watched a video from a Perth CZcamsr with a new v6 Ranger who you supplied the cooler kit for, what sort of temps reduction would you hope for after installing the kit? im not sure if he has done something wrong with the install as it appears from his before and after tests using his scangauge ll that he went from running a ,max of 100' and dropped after installing the kit to a max of 93' he showed his average temps before were high 80's to low 90's and after the kit the average driving temps only went down by 4-6' is that normal? i would of expected a bigger drop in temps? has he done something wrong?

    • @WholesaleAutomatics
      @WholesaleAutomatics Před měsícem

      As he mentioned it has certainly made a difference but as the 10 speed runs though a thermal valve it will still shut the cooling down until you get up to about 80C mark but the real difference is when you load the car right up and the temp rise quickly. The oil coolers will do a brilliant job of controlling this and he no longer sees the over 110c temp that he was before.

    Can you please advise.. The new valve has longer landings has the corresponding bore where the new style valve goes into have the longer landings ?

      In almost every ase it is always the valve that just shows the wear. The landing seems to stand up a hell of a lot better than the valve does.

      Appreciate & Thanks for your reply. Can you just replace the faulty valves with the new improved ones??, is this a gearbox out to do this? Rob

      Yes you can, but if you already have the shudder then change the torque convertor at the same time as the transmission has to come out to install the new valve set.
