What am I looking at? A split rocker ironhead backed up with a big twin 4 speed? Sounds great! Show me the other side
Yep a cut up 77 ironhead in a shovel frame, ratchet top trans. The primary is an open belt for a shovelhead adapted to the ironhead crank. Some of my other videos show the rest of the bike, I’m planning on having it ready to ride in about 2 weeks.

I rode a 57 pan from ft. hood, Tx. To Columbus, Ohio and man......i loved it but that hard tail wore my ass out, i had to stop and take some air pressure out, I'm 57 and these bones can't take those fucked up roads😊😊😊😊love this channel man, hell yeah 😊
Thanks, I’m having as much fun as I can on these old bikes. I’m keeping hard tails until they wear me out, I know they will eventually for sure.

I have seen alot of set ups but i don't think I've seen anyone do that , its freaking awesome man....
I’ve never seen one in person before, but always wanted to build one. So I just went for it, the shortster motor mounts make its way easier.
I knew a guy in Kentucky that put a little gooseneck on the dipstick hole, he haad a machine shop in hopkinsville, he even made a longer dipstick
I ended up changing the exhaust to a rear pipe from a panhead I had laying around.

Technically, it is the releasing disk. The pressure plate is the outer plate holding the springs on----- but who gives a crap, LOL!!

Yeah I'm doing a wide glide front end now with a drum brake. And I'm going to relieve all of the drum brake cover except the webbing
Nice, that will look sweet, I need to find a springer drum for my panhead at some point.
@@843chops I see you might have taken my advice about where to locate the brakes stay in between the two down tubes looks good right there and works like a charm

The holes came out sweet. Looks nice with the brushed aluminum! The brake drum should be fine. If anything, the holes will help with cooling!
Thanks man, I’m going as a few more with the same pattern to the drum tonight. I thought it would look ok just the one side sense the rest was behind the axle plate but it’s bugging me lol.

I love old Harley Davidson's, especially pan head's and shovel head's, I've been building motorcycles and painting them for many years now,it could be the phone because they have been known to create sounds that aren't actually there,but the idle sounds a little one sided like one cylinder is banging harder than the other.it sounds like the front cylinder is got more of the timing and the back cylinder is banging every other, making it sound like a 1 cylinder. No disrespect intended at all,i had an iron head that sounded and ran the same way until I got the timing right on the back cylinder.
That was the first fire up after changing many things. Carb, swapped the mag for a timer, plus a fresh set of rings. It’s pulling great now just had it out last weekend for a bit.
The chain shifter linkage is cool,but you might wanna think about taking it up one more Link
