I've seen the clutch basket done before, but not the pressure plate. My only concern would be enough surface area available for proper clutch engagement. The bike is looking great! Keep up the strong work!
Thanks man. The pressure plate should be ok, it rotates with the fibers so as long as it can push on the outside fiber it should not cause engagement issues, the steels rotate with the basket.
Dust/crud settles next to the blocks inside the clutch drum so a few small holes next to them should be beneficial. Go from there. Brake dust collects in the outer channel of the backing plate too. Assuming you cleaned the backside, you'll have noticed where the packed dust was. Drill small hole in that channel and go from there. Sticking with smaller holes won't reduce integrity/strength as much as larger holes.
Yes I’m going for small ones with a max of 1 3/8” somewhere in the pattern. I’m going to mark them up with a sharpie and see if I like the look. I do think getting the dust out of both will help overall
Be carful on the clutch assy!!! It's designed and engineered to be strong enough, as u see it now. It is not over designed. So just be careful where u drill, Bro!!!
