I'm going to pickup my keyboard welding inspector hat for a moment to say. That's not a 6010 rod, too porous, too light of a gray color, not enough smoke staining on the end where it's been used, and not enough silica on the tip. I may be tripping, but I don't think I'm tripping hard. That's a low hydrogen rod, not a cellulose rod.
Says 6010? I am running it on dc if that makes a difference. I just know it welds good and strong, ugly but strong. 8 yrs old Amazon DC stick/tig welder and some Lincoln rods.
Grinding a weld is better than a cold weld! Just speaking from experience! Keep up the solid work!

@843chops like I say I may have been tripping. But there is nothing wrong with 6010, as long as you can make a quality weld that's all that matters.

You should see the welds on submarines, I’m not scared of ugly welds lol. Strong is all you need.
