BGC is almost 9 times larger than IT Park. It will take all day to see BGC

that's like the smaller boring version of BGC. And BGC is much easier to cross the street. Cars go slower and pedestrians are more prioritized

I spent a few weeks in IT park last year and i found it very clean, relatively quiet and with lots of western food options.

If you'll get back here in Cebu, I suggest you rent a condo instead of a hotel because you can cook and it's not expensive. Also, don't be afraid to take a taxi. To avoid getting scammed make sure to get the taxi name and number and ask the driver to use their taxi meter. I also highly suggest that you learn basic greetings in our dialect for you to use when riding a taxi 🤗. You can also google some of our tourist spots here in Cebu City that you'll enjoy in your next visit.

I think you would have liked Boracay. It has everything as far as restaurants and accommodations go, and nice beaches all around. Most of the nice beaches in the Philippines have no development or infrastructure around them, but Boracay is one of the few exceptions. I think Siargao is too, but I haven't been there

Philippine malls have everything inside. You can just get inside one next time, and you will find places to eat.

Lub D is in the redlight district of Makati. So it's going to give you an even worse impression of Manila than you already have. But BGC is close by.

go to real BGC, not the Venice area. BGC is big and can take a couple hours to walk around. And Manila already has a transit system: 2 LRT lines, 1 MRT line, a BRT line, and a river ferry. Another long MRT line is near completion and should be open by next year. The 2029 thing is just for the subway system.

Please don't mind the negativities. Filipinos tend to get defensive. But yeah, reality sucks. It would be 5-15 more years before the infrastructures would be at par with the rest of the world. Luckily, it's moving and on going. The subways, the internet and everything is already at work. Thanks to the current administration.

I live at the beach in Australia however you can't just stare at it all day long. There must be other attractions and things to do and I guess that is your gf having a job there. I don't think I could live on an island long-term. Good luck with it all.

Cebu is like if you put Manila next to the shittiest beach in the Philippines. Took away the 3 metro lines. Took away BGC, Makati, Bay City, Alabang, and basically all the upscale walkable parts of Manila. And then what you have left is Cebu. I'm sorry you were tricked into staying there. Not a good way to end the Philippines trip. Your several hours drive and a ferry ride away from a nice beach, which are all on Bantayan Island in the north. If anyone tells you Moalboal has nice beaches, they're lying. It's only good for the Sardine Run, nothing else.
