Makati is the first CBD in Southeast Asia developed in the early 1960s when the Philippines was rebuilding from the ravages of World War 2. They converted what was once a runway during the war era into a business district. That whole stretch of Ayala Avenue used to be the runway. if you look hard enough you will see touches of the brutalist architecture that was common in 1960s. Makati is still at the moment a beautiful blend of the past and the future.

Unfortunately morning is not the best time to tour outside the cities in the peak of summer in the Philippines. Best time to go out is from late afternoons to evenings where it's not so hot. In the daytime people usually stay in indoor areas with a/c like malls or go on vacation to cooler areas like Baguio, Tagaytay or just go hit the more popular island beaches and relax.

Makati is the financial district. It's for working people. Traffic is terrible and the air is polluted. Nothing but a concrete jungle. Better to hang-out along Manila bay. Good place to stay is the Conrad Hotel which is right beside the SM MOA or Mall of Asia. It's also close to the newer hotel/casino's like Solaire, City of Dreams and Okada Manila. Forget about those cheap hostels. You get what you pay for.

Sorry to say this but it's so frustrating watching your vlog especially seeing you just go past places where you could have easily found so many options of what you were looking for haha. Just like all other cities/places, there are not so good and better options. You just happened to pick the least popular or desirable ones out of sheer ignorance. A few simple google searches before coming could've made your experience a lot better. I already expected it the moment you arrived. Firstly, you will not enjoy Manila if you come with a pre-conceived impression of the city plus a seeming lack of common sense. A lot have changed over the years and most of the information you got are old and dated. So just save yourself the trouble and just book the earliest ticket out of Manila or the Philippines for that matter. Safe travels :)

@@AbroadInThailandYes! coming from a country where walking zoombies, mass shooting everywhere, mall looting, unprovoked hate crime is so common, I can say that the Philippines is much safer than where you came from.
Also, there are more than 10 CBD's in the whole Metro Manila right now, the rest is still under contruction, they are much nicer and much more developed than old Makati CBD which was construcred in the 1960s,
Do your research, judging by the way you talked, it seems that you are a lazy wannabe vlogger, you will not gain subscribers here by your entitlement attitude, better leave now,
hoping that you will not delete the comments here just like we are not filtering your nonsense opinions😂 just stick to Thailand, we hope you will not come back again

Metro Manila has 3 lines of LRT?MRT plus its building the first full underground Subway also more LRT lines and a High Speed rail system. Soon it will pass Thailand in GDP not to mention currently the Philippines has the highest growth in ASEAN at the moment. There is other business districts in Metro Manila like Ortigas Center, BGC Araneta City and FilInvest City.....
